I would recommend that you should be guided by your doctor/dermatologist when taking this. Personally I started on 2.5mg a day for three months and then upped the dose to 5mg a day by my dermatologist. Iโve been on this regimen now for a year and a half (?). My native and transplanted hair as well as my beard feels thicker and stronger and I believe stays in the anagen phase longer. I havenโt experienced any side effects and for someone who cannot take Finasteride, oral minoxidil has been a God send. ๐

@Kraki77 everyone is different in terms of their rate of growth. Slow and steady wins the race!๐ -
Opinions needed! Medeks hair center, 4700 grafts, March 6th 2024

At week six you are in the ugly duckling phase where the transplanted hair will be shedding. It's impossible to tell how your results will turn out. You need to be patient before you can see how your hair looks and give it 'at least' six months before making any judgement and really twelve months is when you can call it so to speak. Stay on the medication you are taking and give that frontal area more time. All the best! -
Dr. Keser, FUE 2550 Grafts, Ankara, 13-16/11/2023
Gatsby replied to Den's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
I really like how Dr Kesser left your native hair in the midpoint of the hairline to give it a more natural result. There are though some multi grafts in the temples and hairline however. The growth and your donor is looking excellent for only five months. You have plenty of time ahead of you for even more growth and thickening up of your hair. -
At 26 you need a surgeon who is well versed with Norwood 6/7 patients over the lifespan. That to me means Dr Pittella, Dr Zarev and Dr Sethi. If the cost is a problem then I would not risk having surgery so young. I would definitely suggest you try finasteride and minoxidil (I'm not a doctor) prior to surgery to try and stabilize your hair loss. Wishing you all the best!

Two months to me is like being in prison post op. It's the worst time post op in my opinion. For only two months @Shawnintheusa everything seems to be going to plan. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your updates! All the best!

This is looking excellent @Otis james and you're only at two months! ๐คฉ A really soft and natural hairline. Enjoy the stag night! ๐ -
You could use oral minoxidil if you're talking around a year off finasteride.

@Scarhelp you could try contacting Dr Jerry Wong in Canada. Send him pics of your scar and see what he thinks in terms of is it worth doing another strip to narrow the scar's width? Do you have nay other scars? do they tend to heal well? For many people genes will determine this. I had bad punch graft scars and later scars from trying to reduce the width. I had SMP and was fairly happy with the results. Later when I had my first and second hair transplant I had beard and body hair farmed into the scars. All the best.

Needed guidance regarding timing my hair transplant.
Gatsby replied to ev1l's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
EOD is fine for 1mg finasteride but I would give it a year before judging itโs benefits. Even if your hair loss hasnโt changed then itโs still working. All the best. -
@azza786 this is night and day from your previous posts. Your hairline looks soft and natural. NaturaL is the prize every patient is looking for. From my own experience I found having SMP was an aid in my results. Especially with scars and the illusion of greater density. Stag strong bro. The finish line is in sight! ๐ฏ๐๐ฅ

@SeanToman don't be too worried about this. The number of grafts were originally not a huge amount in number. Communication is really important (especially post op) in surgery and that's difficult to avoid with many surgeons around the world. I'm confident that this will be the extra subtle result you are looking for. ๐ฏ๐

Painful decade long journey. 34 yo | 3x HT

Stay well @track_rat. Looking forward to seeing you post again. ๐ -
Personally I wouldn't get too caught up on the figures. The higher the number grafts and the lower the density then more area can be covered. But in reality where the grafts are placed dictates everything. With an elite surgeon art comes into it and their own artistic mix will determine the results with donor capacity, etc. Make sure you see lots of previous patient results. I would be guided by the work you like and how you feel about which surgeon you feel has your best interests from communication with him/her. Personally I like Laorwong. Wishing you all the best!
