  1. Hey all, I've been a long time lurker and recently took the plunge and did a transplant. I thought I'd share the results here as I'm pretty satisfied. I originally researched Dr. Panine 3 or 4 years ago and did a consultation as I had started receding. I met with Stuart at the time who handled my case was was very knowledgeable in general. Originally I was impressed but could just not afford the operation and didn't want my parents paying for it. Then in 2019 in the middle of march I took the plunge after going back for a second consultation. Stuart was still working there and remembered my case, we talked for a while, I met the Dr again, then I booked it. I wasn't promised anything crazy, since Dr. Panine had seen my Dad's hairline, he filled in where it would fall, and extended my hairline to the perfect spot. The procedure itself took something like 12 hours. I was very nervous at first, but the office is nice and you get this million dollar view of the lake while they work on you. Then within an hour I was chatting with everyone and comfortable. Post procedure I did have really strong swelling, which you can see in one of the pictures. For the next 2 weeks it looks like I was in the ring with mike tyson, and I lost. I was fortunate enough to be able to work just over 4 weeks remote for work, otherwise it would be really difficult to hide swelling and scars. I don't know if that's unique to me but I would urge people to expect a longer recovery. At least that's true for a person like me with very light skin and hair. I also was not able to take pain pills as they made me throw up, so I stuck to tylenol and alleve. Truthfully the pain wasn't that bad, it was just uncomfortable. It took a couple of months for the grafts to start coming in so I wore my hair long in a very awkward style. I wore a hat whenever I could. I was pretty upfront with most people that knew and saw me about my transplant. Everyone was curious, some people even asked for number/address of Dr. Panine which I provided. At the moment I take 1mg Finasteride and the results are probably so subtle I don't notice it. But I do believe it's keeping more of my hair from falling as I don't see several strands when I comb my hair anymore. Overall if I had to do it again, I totally would. The results are worth it, and when you start to see the hairs coming in thicker you feel on top of the world. You get back the restoration of confidence that no amount of money can give you. I actually probably will go back and do another in a couple of years because one of my sides isn't as thick as the other. When I go back, I'll go to Dr. Panine because I trust him and his work. Also just to be clear I was not paid, nor given a discount for this review. Also no one at Dr. Panine's office asked me to do it, I offered as I am happy with my results and appreciate all of them. day of procedure, I got these pics from Stuart: recovery progress in june I took at home: recovery progress in june, I tried to keep same lighting, camera and time of day as my last one:
