  1. Just hang in there. I know at 6 months youre expecting to see more growth and even thickening of the new hairs. Although i personally feel at 6 months most of the hairs that youre going to get from ht should have come out already, perhaps it is possible for some people like yourself the hairs are still dormant and will come out in the next few months. Try having someone take pictures of your recipient area so we can see and give you a better assessment, before pics would help also.
  2. Honestly if by 8 months and you still arent seeing any growth your ht failed. I recently had my third ht and im almost at 3 months and my grafts are starting to come out as i can see and feel them. I hope your surgeon will do the right thing and offer you a refund if by a year you are still not seeing growth. Good luck man.
  3. If by 8 months you have not seen any growth something is definitely wrong. I recently had my third ht and at almost 3 months some of my grafts have already come out as i can see and feel them. I hope your surgeon will do the right thing and give you a refund if your grafts still have not come out at the one year mark.
  4. It doesnt look good to me. What it tells me is that the graft "died" maybe transected during the excision or soon after it was transplanted. To leave a hole after the clump of hair fell out means the graft never took and entirely came out. Sorry to hear that man.
  5. I played tennis a few days after a ht. Most everyone here thought it was a bad idea. I dont know if playing tennis affected the overall result of my ht, but in hindsight i probably should not have done that. Better to play it safe. You have all the time in the world to hit the slopes after a couple weeks after your ht.
  6. Spanker, THANKS, but its hard not to have great expectations. Only time will tell.
  7. Here are a couple pics (post op days 2 and 10). I had 600 grafts transplanted to an area behind my hairline mostly on the right side to create more density via fue. Too bad much of it will fall out in the next couple weeks. Is it true that you can predict the end result the first couple weeks before all the transplanted hairs fall out?
  8. Nice to hear stories like that. Im 38 and have had 3 hts (one of which was to fix a bad ht) and no one can tell i ever had one. My coworkers tell me i look 27, haha. Having hair makes a huge difference in how you look.
  9. I wanted to know if dying or coloring hair can exacerbate hair loss bc of the chemicals in the dye.
  10. Awesome. Thats a huge session. Post pics of your progress. All the best!
  11. I did it for myself. The opposite sex or trying to impress someone did not factor into my decision to have a ht. I just thought i look better with hair than without hair.
  12. From what ive read transplanted hairs are not minoxidil dependent however the hairs that grew back and from the use of minoxidil will begin to fall out if you stop using it.
  13. I agree with abc, make sure you do your research and have a plan. Going to the right surgeon for the type of surgery fue or fut is key and makes a big difference. Last thing you want is to go to a mediocre surgeon bc of cost or distance and you end up worst off than when you started not to mention throwing away your money but losing precious hair. Im telling you this bc its happened to me. So if you plan on getting a ht, do your due diligence and spend the extra money to get the best surgeon possible.
  14. I recently had another ht to fill in some thinning areas. This time i decided to go with fue since my surgeons thought i did not have a good scalp elasticity, which was fine with me. However this time I did not see that much bleeding or blood or scabbing in my recipient area. Is this something i should be concerned about? Im worrier about the blood flow in that part of my scalp. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you for your input.
  15. Jay, I feel bad for you. That really sucks. I was hoping you'd end up with a decent result even if it didn't meet up to your expectations. You should really try to get your money back or at least get some of it back. Start saving up your money now and hopefully in the future you can get a real HT with excellent results. I think aaron is right. Start on propecia now or finasteride. Even if the first procedure was successful chances are you would need a 2nd or even a 3rd procedure down the line. 6K for a bad HT. I bet the doctor didn't even have proper training. Just out to make money.
  16. I had my HT about a week ago and I am still feeling some tenderness and pain in the back top of my head where the anesthesia injection site was (mostly when I'm lying on my back at night). I thought this would go away by now since there was no cutting of skin rather just needle injection. Is this normal for that area to still be tender and painful after a week? Thanks.
  17. You guys are right. I'm going to stay inside for the next week or so. Now I have to fight the urge to pick the scabs on my scalp. Yeah, Federer has a nice head of hair!
  18. Thanks everyone. I went with a hat and played for a bout an hour or so. I hope I didn't stretch the donor area. It's hard to pass up a sunny day and just sit at home. I'm gunna stay put the rest of the week.
  19. I just had a HT 3 days ago. I have to play tennis outside. Can I put sunblock on my grafts? I don't want my grafts to burn. Any advice?
  20. has anyone had fue done by dr. bernstein? has anyone had experience with dr. bernstein in fue? thanks for any suggestions/advice.

  22. Hi Space, I had 2 HTs in the frontal area. What I did, and it takes a lot of patience, was to let my hair grow out long enough so that it covered the entire recipient area. I went back to work 4 days after my 1st HT and 3 days after my 2nd HT and nobody at work noticed or said a thing. I couldn't tell I had a HT under my existing hair because it covered everything. Besides that I'm not sure how else you could hide the fact that you had HT, unless you can take more days off. At 10 days I think the frontal area isn't healed enough to hide that you had something done there. Is your hair long enough to cover the recipient and donor areas? If people ask then it's obvious you had something done, at that point it's best to be honest. Good luck.
  23. I've had 2 HTs. I noticed that when I look at my hair under bright light I can see down to my scalp - is this normal? How much density does one need to prevent someone seeing the scalp under bright light. I get self conscious when I am out with friends and the place is very bright. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks.
