  1. I am not normally one for posting reviews on anything, but I thought I would like to share my recent experience of undergoing hair restoration surgery with Dr Bhatti at his clinic Darling Buds in Chandigarh, India. I am a 33 year old Caucasian who has suffered with MPB for over a decade now. Gradually over the years this disease has stripped my away my self-confidence, self-esteem and motivation. I have suffered with bouts of depression and anxiety as I viewed my hair in photos and in the mirror slowly deteriorating over the years. It got to the point where instead of looking forward to the future I would fear it with the prospect of losing all my hair wondering how I would cope walking this earth bald. I have never been equipped to just shave it all off like some people can as it was part of my identity. I managed to stabilise and halt further progression by taking finasteride which I continue to take to this day. However I had advanced to a Norwood 5/6 before Finasteride and realised that if I want to address my issues with my hair I would also have to take the surgical hair restoration route. Therefore, I researched for years into hair transplants and the especially the last year or so researching a Surgeon I felt I was in safe hands with. After reading many reviews I came across Dr Tejinder Bhatti in India whose results looked consistently good and so natural. I then decided it was time to stop running from my hair loss and to do something about it as I had become a recluse. I would do everything possible to avoid any social events and make excuses why I couldn’t go. I have also spent the best part of the last couple of years under a hat where I felt more comfortable. I contacted Dr Bhatti by email to which he responded very efficiently and asked if I could send photos of my hair loss and asked what my expectations were after surgery. Looking back now I had very unrealistic expectations as I asked for surgery to provide my with full coverage and volume and density. Dr Bhatti quickly said what I am hoping to achieve is unachievable due to many variables such as; my extent of hair loss, limited donor supply and hair characteristics. I initially felt disappointed as I thought nothing could be done and I was destined to be bald. I was then contacted by Dr Bhatti U.K advisor (Shera) who outlined very clearly that I wasn’t going to achieve a ‘Brad Pitt’ through hair restoration. My main concern was to frame my face and not have to worry about the fear of having an unframed face in the future. Once I learned of my limitations and what could be done through surgery to improve and enhance my hair I was offered surgery and scheduled for May 2019. Shera then organised everything for my journey to Chandigarh and getting me out there for surgery with Dr Bhatti from the hotel stay, visa and inoculations etc. Everything was taken care of I just had to turn up at the airport and catch my flight. Once I arrived I’m Chandigarh I was met by Dr Bhatti driver who drove me straight to the clinic to meet Dr Bhatti and discuss the planned procedure. Dr Bhatti himself is a very pleasant man and you instantly feel at ease you are in good hands as he has your best interests at heart. He sees the big picture and explained to me the best approach to take which was a conservative one due to some of my limitations. He then drew an age appropriate mature hairline and said that he will plant most grafts in the hairline and front of my scalp and will see if there are enough grafts to harvest to fill in the crown a little. He also explained he will avoid implanted on the mid-scalp as there would be too great a risk of shock loss as that is where most of the hair I had left remaining was situated. Then came the morning of surgery, I was picked up at 06:30 and taken to the clinic. Dr Bhatti asked if I had any more questions and he shaved my head which really made me realise how far advanced my hair loss actually was. I was then prepped and taken in to the operating room where I was met by his fantastic team he has around him. Just to mention as well his 5 rivers facility is outstanding. It well and truly exceeded my expectations. After an early start and painless procedure I was finished around 3 and Dr Bhatti explained everything went well and he harvested 2,200 scalp and 400 beard grafts. He also left me with more donor reserve for any future loss and a possible second procedure if needed which I was happy about. A highly skilled surgeon thinks ahead as it is a long game you are playing with hair loss and that is what I liked about Dr Bhatti he is honest and realistic with you from the start about what can and can’t be achieved in your situation. He was also conservative and not aggressive as I didn’t want any mega session. The next day I was taken back to the clinic for a hair wash and was told everything I had to do post-operatively. I was also handed a detailed aftercare book to follow. I stayed in Chandigarh for almost a week post procedure. I even spent a couple of days in the foothills of the Himalayas as it is nearby to Chandigarh to relax and heal. I am now back in the U.K and applying all the after care suggested by the clinic. All in all it was a wonderful experience, I am a well travelled individual but even I was apprehensive of travelling alone to India to undergo a surgical procedure. However, I was made to feel so welcome at Darling buds clinic and if I had any issue Shera is always available to talk to about anything. Sorry for the long review but if this review can help someone who is on the fence about going ahead with it I would say don’t let the thought of travelling to another country put you off. You will be at a top class facility and in very capable hands. Now I need to wait patiently to heal and hopefully grow some new hair and regain back some of that confidence and self-esteem I have lost over the last decade.
