  1. Why staples? I’ve been using neosporin every night, as will help ward off infections. Maybe some lanocaine before the stitches are out? Seems they would just do something for everyone.
  2. My husband is on day 4 of his FUT in the crown. He had his first one 16 months ago for the hairline back. It looks pretty good, but he really wanted his crown done too, and I think it will look much better. Last time it hurt like heck having the stitches taken out. They really hurt more this time and they want them in for 14 days. We discussed if it’s so painful, why he can’t get some type of shot beforehand to numb it? Of course, the issue with this is the doc is not there taking out the stitches, and who knows if a nurse will be around. If no shots can be administered , is there some kind of topical numbing cream that anyone has used for this?
  3. Melvin, Well, it turns out they aren’t doing procedures with the order, but still told my Husband yesterday his final payment was due. Of course they finally said he was still scheduled but watching the order week to week (order was originally to be lifted next Monday, but the Governor just announced yesterday it might change). She finally said in good faith they won’t charge the credit card unless they know it’s a go. Sounds like they were still trying to take money, but my husband (and most likely others), were questioning this, so they’ve backed off), this is one of the “run of the mill” places, but the doc who did his first one did a pretty good job.
  4. Are American businesses still doing transplants that you know of? Hubbie put down his deposit for April 20th for his 2nd round (doing the crown) several weeks ago. His final payment was due today and he asked the company if they are even doing any procedures right now as our state is on a “stay at home” order. She has not emailed back the answer. They have his CC to use for the final payment, He told her if they cancel on him, he wants a refund of the final balance. They can keep the deposit of course until later. Haven’t talked to him yet today to find out how she responded.
  5. I don’t have pictures of his scalp, but it sort of looks like this. https://www.google.com/search?q=cobblestoning+hair+transplant&client=safari&channel=ipad_bm&prmd=inv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjQ2u7-9oDlAhUBQq0KHZ-aDwwQ_AUoAXoECA0QAQ&biw=1024&bih=729#imgrc=arhZN4iGMguIAM Or this https://www.google.com/search?q=cobblestoning+hair+transplant&client=safari&channel=ipad_bm&prmd=inv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjQ2u7-9oDlAhUBQq0KHZ-aDwwQ_AUoAXoECA0QAQ&biw=1024&bih=729#imgrc=HDwmcLg1kIcT_M I think he needs to get back into the doc. You don’t see it so. UCB like the 2nd guy because his head is covering it, but you notice it more at the hairline.
  6. Ok, thanks! It’s like pulling teeth to get him to the doc.
  7. DH, at month 9, is progressing nicely. However, he still has raised bumps around his follicles. He just feels bumps all over. When I get up really close, I can see the swing doesn’t lay flat like a normal scalp. Is this normal?
  8. My DH was in months 5 through 8 this summer and when sitting outside, I could see exactly what you are talking about. I could see the shape of his head with hairs. He didn’t do anything, as there was nothing to be done. I think it’s getting a little better though. You don’t see that at all during the evening. I thought it was just because he’s mostly white hair.
  9. DH had his after Xmas. He took 10 days off. It was a great time to do it, as it was winter. He was very self conscious and wore a nice cap to work for a long time. He had to come clean to his coworkers, but didn’t want them to see his head until his scabs were all gone. He had a few big ones that took over a month to go away. He had a lot of shock loss of his native hair so wore his hat for a good 2 to 3 months at work. We didn’t do anything for the first couple months. After that he felt comfortable to go out, but always wore his cap. I think he took it off to go out at the end of 3 months but we didn’t do anything with friends as he didn’t want to tell anyone. It’s a journey and he’s only 8 months. He looks so much different than a year ago and I’m glad we read the “illusion of density” thread.
  10. Did you or anyone else find the front hairs coming in more slowly? DH has salt and pepper hair, and the ones in the front( mostly on one side) about 1/4 inch deep, look fairly sparse. You can see more skin than compared to the other side. He is 7.5 months FUT, so we keep thinking more will pop out over the next few months. when he’s outside and the sun is behind him, you can really see his scalp throughout looking straight on. Did anyone else have this issue? I’m thinking it must be because those hairs closest to his scalp are the thinnest and lots of white.
  11. There was a great growth chart by month on a post somewhere showing growth and maturation. Does someone have that chart and could you link it?
  12. Thank you! My DH is very private, so I won’t post pictures. He doesn’t use minoxidil, but he uses finesteride. Never heard to massage the area. It’s good to know this is to be expected and not to be concerned. Thanks!
  13. My DH is almost 6 months. The skin around the follicle isn’t flat, it’s raised around where the hair emerges. They are not infected or red, just not flat. Does anyone else experience this, and if so, when does it settle down?
  14. He thinks he’s in a new popping stage because his scalp tingles and he feels lumps and getting more pimples, sees scabs. It drives him crazy.
