Hi Baalloss and thanks for everyone’s comments. First off, we appear to have got our wires crossed regarding the 12 month review. I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear what I meant. Dr Lupanzula does, of course, periodically review patients’ photographs every 3 months. What I meant was, the Dr would be unable to start any investigations to ascertain the reason for the result until at least the 12 month mark, because it isn’t a ‘result’ until that juncture.

The feedback to date is to wait until 12-14 months, as per your post-op instructions, when we will of course welcome the opportunity to assess your case and the way forward. Until such time, it is inaccurate to refer to this as a failed hair transplant. I think we need to be very clear about this. I look forward to speaking to you again. Best wishes, scott.

The best thing to do now is wait for the post-op review to be completed so that we have something objective. I appreciate everyone wants to give their opinion but It's Dr. Lupanzula who performed the initial assessment, surgery and soon the post-op review so he has all the information needed to conduct this comprehensively. Other opinions at this stage are not based on all the facts and are more of a general overview. 

Thanks for the update. Definite thickening and I'm happy with your progress to date. Diffuse cases with the grafts added around lots of already present native hair are notoriously slow in terms of noticing aesthetic change. Results often appear from nowhere suddenly.  Looking forward to seeing your next update.

I think your result looks fantastic so far and I expect this to improve further up until the 15 month time point as the new hairs mature and thicken.

The parting down the middle is a good way to track and measure progress but it ultimately exposes the true density of a HT which can never stand up to the density of native hair.
 

Dr. Lupanzula will review your case at 12 months as agreed and we will then make a judgement on the final result collaboratively taking into account your opinion and by also revisiting initial goals.

Better tools and extractor skill can close the gap somewhat, but not entirely. There are logical reasons for this, more specifically that the grafts are exposed to more heat, force and torque with motorized than with manual. Moreover, the extractor loses the feedback and fine sense of control during extraction. I have no hard data to back this up and therefore need to qualify my statements carefully, but I am working to compile a set of before/afters that could help shed some light on the issue.

You have defeated your own argument here by acknowledging that there are no controlled studies.  I am unclear as to why you consider that your  own (baseless) opinion, which is backed-up with no evidence whatsoever, is superior to that of a physician, but your agenda is clear.  You are doing the community a disservice saying that clinics should be ruled-out based on nothing more than a hunch, however I am sure that people will see your comments for what they are and completely disregard them in any event.

Agreed, the angle differs slightly but the aesthetic change is clear to see and even if the angle were exactly the same the actual overall appearance would be the same.
