How’s that a scam. A scam would imply their being deceitful, they’re open and transparent about their policy. Now, if they never said anything and led you to believe they would charge in CAD and then turn around and charge USD that would be a scam.

@Melvin-Moderator have u ever heard of a US clinic charging it’s European patients in euros (since there is a better exchange rate) but then go ahead and charge their American patients in usd? Yeah...thought so...

thas basically what h&w are doing

Dr. Diep does this to preserve donor for future surgeries, and reduce the scarring. FUE intrinsically reduces the overall density and he believes it’s best to leave a portion of the scalp virgin, for future surgeries.

That makes absolutely no sense and if it did there would be many other doctors that would adopt that theory as well. I have a feeling that it makes extractions quicker for him that’s y he does it that way

Ohh OK. I think I remember them saying that. I just had a consult with rahal and they mentioned the exchange rate would make it cheaper for me for their clinic so I forgot hw told me that they charge usd the same

Yes with Rahal u can get the exchange rate deal. H&w scam u with their policy

7 months and 3 weeks update:

As a brief update, since i am close to the 8 months mark, as you see in the photos below, transplanted area improved than the last update at 5 months, but not for the crown area that i think will need another procedure in the future.

The most thing that bothers me is the donor area, especially the sides, since its still not recovered totally and to be honest cannot accept it being that way, so if still remains the same with time progression, i will try to correct it, hopefully with the crown restoration surgery, if possible.

And another point, even if Asmed offers me a touch up procedure, i will never accept, since overall i am not happy with the result so far, and more important for me is the remaining hair that i still have, which i will never waste it again with other tech clinic. From my point of view, difference between 1000$ and 100,000$ surgeon is the management of the donor area.

    Waiting for your thought guys.

You can compare your results with mine on my web site.  I chronicled the entire event and still post pictures every other week.  My website is posted below.  Just go to the archives to September 2012 and start from there.  Everyone's progress is different but you can find many similarities as well.  Best of luck.

John I don’t see any updates on your site?

Super happy yes. I shave it to a no guard at back and sides once a week and my GF has not said a thing, and I had 4100 FUE grafts removed over two FUE there so I am convinced it is scar less at least to the eyes of the others.

As for the front/hairline, growing fine no issues at all. I shave the rest of my head to a 9 mm guard as it looks better while still limiting the amount of topical hair meds required to maintain. The difference in density with native hair is barely noticeable at that length, but not so if I cut shorter

Any specific reason why u hide it from your gf?

I had 1200 grats at the same place and yeah I have a halo effect, worst part is that some has been taken in a line.  Though yours had significantly improved since you first posted.

With FUE i thought shock loss was normally nearly always in the native hairs not donor. Already looking for smp providers in the uk to cover the halo effect

Think lesson is pay for the top package and in my case I should have had donor shaved.

    Pics?

Yeah I know you think that. So why are you micro-needling?

Mark. You’ve done some good research. Inflammation and scalp calcification are semi recent findings as well as the whole prostaglandin approach. But you have to remember all these topics follow a cascade that DHT triggers. That’s why it’s important to start there. Secondly we have effective, affordable, and easily accessible drugs to lower DHT. They’ve been shown effective to slow and/or stop hair loss progression in the majority of men who take them. There aren’t meant treatment approaches for addressing these other factors just yet. I believe these are some of the main reasons why DHT is the focus.
