  1. It looks like you've had a scattered approach to restoration, a bit all over, rather than primarily focusing on the hairline, but then it could just be hard to really tell from the photos. I don't think it is that bad for 2500 grafts. Even after a year you may still have some maturity and growth to come. The bigger question is, are you happy with the overall result? You've gone from bald to a hairline which I think is something worth celebrating for yourself.

  2. Thank you for sharing your story. Don't blame yourself, we make decisions with the best of intentions and you had others around you that gave you that reassurance it was the right decision. Two and a half months in is not very long at all and there will be many on these forums that will tell you to be a patient patient and hold on for the complete result. Things can change a lot over the next few months.

  3. Good luck with the results, having seen other cases on here and other forums you won’t need luck as he is a top notch surgeon. How was the travelling to Chicago? I’m also in the UK and it’s one of the bits that concerns me, to travel so far, how long to stay for, how to get about when there, etc. Also read reviews of that hotel so have been exploring others in the area for if/when the time comes! 🫣

I personally think it’s a total overreaction, the lives we save now we’ll probably lose more due to the issues with poverty this will cause. I know they keep saying it’s not like flu, but in the U.K. we lose 500,000 people a year to flu that never get mentioned, whereas now we are at less than 500 and every one is reported nightly in the news. Surely it’d be better to have the risk groups stay at home and get the money (even full pay since there’s far less of them) and let everyone else get on with work and get the virus and get the herd immunity They talk about. The stats for people under 60 are minuscule when it comes to mortality

The UK death rate for flu each year is much lower than that; England alone is well under 20,000 a year on average. The worldwide figure is obviously much higher and COVID-19 is nowhere near that at this stage, depending on how it develops over the coming months. I personally feel our Government (I'm in the UK) dragged its feet in the early stages, however the action taken since appears to have been widely accepted for the most part, people obviously concerned for the economy and our health service which is under immense strain and was before this anyway.

  5. Hello Trix,

I'm following your progress with interest, regardless of photos, I think that's your personal choice. It helps those of us considering certain clinics to get feedback from their patients and in particular Hattingen which has only recently popped up on my radar so I'll be interested to see how your results fair, including the scarline from the strip as an FUT is my preferred option too.

  6. What a brilliant result and still early for the full effect. You must be so happy with how it's all gone.

Am giving Dr Bisanga some serious consideration for a HT when I can, results I have seen around the internet (although not many) are excellent.

Enjoying following your journey, thanks for the update.
