  1. Yes suppose it depends a lot on your close circle of family/friends and just how honest they are. My own are quite upfront and honest and don't really hold back. Difficult to take much from the comment at 4 months as it's too early and every result should really be getting thicker from that point.
  2. Yes, in your pictures there's a clear cosmetic improvement from where you were pre-op. Have you had any comments on days when you are not using fibres?
  3. Putting aside pictures, lighting etc for a moment, when you are going about your everyday life, has anyone commented on your hair, either negative or positive? *Sorry should add when you don't have concealer on your scalp
  4. Personally, if you've just started finasteride, i'd be tempted to hold of getting a a HT, staying on the medication for around a year and then see where you are at. You see some pretty impressive results from guys with diffuse loss who jump on finasteride and see improvements. If after your a year on finasteride, your crown and midscalp improve, you can target the hairline/frontal area with a HT. If there isn't enough improvement in the crown/midscalp area, you can also target those areas in the procedure to and with being on finasteride, it will strengthen the remaining hairs in the area so less susceptible to any shock loss.
  5. If you have don't have confidence in what he is saying, don't go back to him for another procedure. Maybe worth consulting with a couple of other reputable surgeons to see if they can provide some clues as to the reason behind your poor growth and also suggest the best way forward.
  6. Personally, in Turkey I'd ideally only consider ASMED (2.5 Euro per graft) if you are extensively balding and Dr Keser (3.5 Euro per graft) if you require a smaller procedure with work in and around the hairline. If that still works out too pricey, I'd probably consider Dr Demirsoy and Dr Cinik but do plenty of research/ask plenty of questions.
  7. Often thought about this and even though they practise FUT as well , I'm always left so impressed by Dr Konior and Hasson and Wong and keep coming back to them when it comes to the elite surgeons out there. Dr Couto's results look amazing to and on that basis you'd add him to the list to. Only thing is, a lot of his patient's do seem to be Spanish with good donor characteristics but there's no denying the results look fantastic although would like to see more patient reviews on the forums. A 4 year waiting list is also very long. Also inclined to agree with CosmoKramer, would really think very carefully before jumping into another procedure. From your progress thread, i think you've used 7300 or so grafts via FUE in total while still in your 20s. If I'm not mistaken, it sounded as though 4900 of those have have been used in the hairline/temple point area from both procedures? If that is right, that's a lot of grafts and if you are looking to add more to the frontal area in another potential procedure, you are running the risk of leaving very little in reserve for the midscalp and vertex if/when you lose more in that area in the future. That is a large area and even though you've had 2400 in there, if you lose more native hair in that region, that 2400 in the midscalp/vertex is going to struggle to provide good coverage imo and you may be left with a very strong frontal area with a weak midscalp/vertex which would look odd. Obviously the fact you are on finasteride will help massively in keeping your native hair but you never know about the future and you may decide to come off it or it could lose effectiveness etc so still should tread with relative caution. Also another thing to be aware of is ASMED usual provide a higher total donor capacity number compared to a lot of other clinics, especially compared to those in the US and Belgium so they may say you have another 2000-3000 grafts left in your donor area but not sure that necessarily means other clinics/surgeons will also think the same. You may find some clinics/surgeons say you have less left available in the donor area after using over 7k already however you'll only probably get an accurate answer on that once they've examined the donor area.
  8. Great result for only 1871 grafts. Looking at the pictures, I think the patient's donor characteristic also probably helped getting a good result with that number of grafts.
  9. Excellent progress considering you are just approaching the 7 month mark. Congrats
  10. Some of Dr Diep's results are very impressive but must admit, the donor area's generally look a real mess after the procedure especially when compared to other surgeons. Donor areas from clinics such as Hasson and Wong or ASMED even on their larger procedures just seem to be look so much cleaner and more uniform in the extraction pattern. Saying that, I suppose as long as the final result is good and the donor area is sufficiently covered, I'd imagine not too many patients will be overly fussed. Also in the OP's case he seems to have gone quite high on the sides and encroached on the non safe area.
  11. Hopefully things improve for you in the next 6 months or so. I'd just be vary of jumping into another procedure considering you are 26-27 and already used 7300 grafts with a fair chunk of that used on lowering the hairline and temple points. May just need to keep some in the bank for future hair loss. Think you mentioned you are on finasteride which should hopefully allow you to retain your native hair.
  12. Very similar to how my hair loss started at the same kind of age. Your best course of action is finasteride if you can tolerate it. Maybe even start off at a low dosage and see if things slow down/improve. Seeing as you at an early stage, you may be one of the lucky ones and even experience thickening/regrowth in the crown and then not have to worry too much. Biotin, saw palmetto, beta-sitosterole, biotin shampoo/alpecin are not going to stop you losing more hair and wouldn't be surprised to see the hairloss in your crown continue to expand fairly quickly. Nizoral on it's own is not enough and is only worthwhile as adjunct to finasteride imo.
  13. Got to be honest, if I were to go from your before picture to your after pic at 7-8 months, I'd be very happy with how things are going. Considering you still have 4-5 months to go and possibly up to the 18th month mark for things to fully mature, you have every reason to be hopeful. Sometimes it's easy get caught up in over analysing things every few days/weeks etc (even more difficult when there's negativity floating around a clinic/surgeon which throw doubt into your mind) while forgetting just where we you have come from in terms of your pre-op state. Keep in mind, your temple areas weren't just thinning but were slick bald. It's never easy to get things 100% right after one HT procedure especially when you are dealing with areas which are slick bald imo however in terms of cosmetic appearance, there's a massive difference between how your hair was and how it is now. Face is framed and the hairline and temple points look just right, not overly aggressive or overly conservative. Hopefully density will improve as well but from your pictures, your procedure was 100% worth it imo as there's a clear cosmetic improvement from where you were to where you are now and at the end of the day that has to be the overriding goal of a HT.
  14. Think it would be near enough impossible to damage/dislodge a graft at 34 days unless it was though surgical intervention. As CosmoKramer mentioned, most likely down to pimples or just you've agitated an area of skin that was still healing. Personally wouldn't overly worry about it at the stage you are at.
  15. As already been mentioned, just seemed too large an area to cover with just 2476 grafts. I'd have thought somewhere in the region of 3500 were probably needed to make a real difference considering it's the frontal and midscalp area that were transplanted in. You are still at the 6.5 month mark so still time for things to improve but think with the numbers involved and the area to be covered, got to realistic with your expectations at the 12 month mark.
  16. Great transformation. Are you still taking finasteride?
  17. Interesting point. First and foremost, surgeons and clinics are a business and out there to make money, plain and simple. The HT scene has become very competitive, especially amongst the mid tier clinics. Putting aside the likes of H&W and Konior....they are elite surgeons who are churning out the best results in the business and they will always have long waiting lists as people will pay their prices because they are the creme de la creme. They probably have no interest or worries about competing against clinics in say Turkey/India because simply put, if you want and have the money for a Porsche, you don't pop down to the Ford dealership to see if they have anything that is comparable. Issue is more with surgeons/clinics in the mid tier range. With people now having no problem travelling half way across the world for a procedure, I do feel some clinics in the West maybe feel they are losing out on a lot of potential business to say Turkish, Greek and some Indian surgeons/clinics much more so compared to say 10 years ago. The more I learn about about the HT business, the more I find you really need to go in there with your eyes wide open and question the motive behind a lot of the things you read or hear people come out with. Forums, hair loss associations/societies, mentors etc are a great source of information/opinion but just have your own wit's about you. Do find in this industry, it can be very easy for people to get you to dance to their tune.
  18. Sorry to hear you are not happy. I've never really been a fan of moving a hairline down so much but if someone want's it it done, I would only go to a top tier surgeon like a Konior or a H&W personally.
  19. To be honest, finasteride should be your first port of call when it comes to medication. There is Dutasteride but that is much stronger than finasteride and wouldn't make sense jumping on that without trying finasteride first. Minoxdil will help promote growth but won't do anything to prevent hairloss. You could try a smaller dose of finasteride (some people start with as little as 0.25mg) and see how you get on. I tried finasteride myself but had to drop it due to side effects. Ideally you should be on finasteride when you have a HT however not being on finasteride doesn't necessarily mean you can't have a HT but you have to curb your expectations somewhat. Also as I believe you are in your 40s and a clear hairloss pattern has developed, if you did decide against using medication, it's probably a better situation compared to say someone in their 20s going ahead with a HT without medication.
  20. To be honest, it's advisable to target the front first and then look at addressing the crown and most reputable surgeons will tell you the same. The frontal area is what people see and what frames your face so has to be the priority. The crown also uses up a lot of grafts. Furthermore, from your pictures your crown isn't slick bald but any remaining hair is very likely to go without being on medication. If you were to transplant into the crown now, it may look good for a while but when the remaining native hair goes, you'll be back to square one again.
  21. Are you looking to address the frontal area or all over?
  22. Looking at your pictures in the thread you started, not convinced Dr Keser would accept you as a patient as you have more extensive loss and Keser tends to work on smaller cases. Can obviously reach out to him and see what he says but wouldn't be surprised if turns you down.
  23. What do you consider not too expensive? Or more specifically, what kind of budget are you looking at for a procedure?
  24. Agree, this is not a Dr Keser case and he will almost certainly turn you down. From the Turkish clinic's, this is more an ASMED type of case however looking at your pictures, it's touch and go whether they would take you on considering what your donor looks like. At the very least I suspect they will tell you to jump on finasteride if you are not on it and wait for 6-12months before re-evaluating. As already mentioned FUT may be best suited to you but I'd get as many consultations as possible.
