  1. Thanks! Glad to hear it. Did you shampoo every day?
  2. Hi all, In January I had an FUT hair transplant with Dr Gabel (will post about my experience with photos very soon). It's been 2.5 months since and a couple of days ago I started applying Caboki hair fibers as I had been doing for years prior to the surgery. Since I don't shampoo everyday, there is a fair amount of residue on my scalp at all times, and I wanted to make sure this is OK. I'll obviously stop if there is any risk of impairing hair growth. From a quick search online it doesn't seem like it. I've emailed Dr. Gabel, but I just want to make doubly sure by asking everyone here about their experiences with hair fibres post-HT.
  3. Thanks for sharing! Optimus, any more recent photos of your results?
  4. I'm a 32 year old, Norwood type 5/6, and fairly set on getting an FUT transplant in January. I had an FUT procedure back in 2012, which wasn't great by any measure, but it gave me the traces of a hairline that I'm comfortable with in terms of its placement, but it needs *serious* strengthening. And of course I've lost a lot more hair since 2012. I'm hoping for around 3k grafts in the front 1/3 to 1/2 of the top of my head. I can post photos if it would be helpful. Any similarly situated patients of either Diep or Gabel who'd care to share their experiences? Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer. My priorities are (1) a safe and careful procedure, and (2) hair density! I get bad headaches, which worsened somewhat after my first HT. So, it's really important to me to work with a conscientious physician, who will take care to avoid things like a scar which extends too far into the temporal region. I was deeply reassured by my conversation with Dr. Gabel. He seems like an incredibly thoughtful doctor. On the other hand, I'm also really impressed by the videos Diep has shared of his patients' results. Diep's photos/videos are some of the most remarkable I've seen. So any thoughts would be appreciated.
  5. Hi all, I plan to get an FUE procedure in December of this year, and I'm trying to do my research on possible surgeons. I'll travel anywhere in the United States but am based in upstate NY. I've gotten in touch with the clinics of Dr. Diep, Konior, and Hasson & Wong. Here's my history. I previously had an HUT procedure back in 2013 from an in-network surgeon in Asia. At the time I was Type IVA, with frontal forelock. From what I recall I received around 2000 grafts and had decent results. Since then I have lost more hair. I use artificial hair fibers (Caboki) to compensate for my thinned out hair. I'm convinced myself to get another transplant this year, but have a few concerns. First, I'm a migrainer and felt that the frequency and intensity of my headaches worsened after my first transplant. Is there any research on the relationship between hair transplants and headaches? Anyway, I'm looking to avoid similar issues this time around. Second, although I'm leaning towards FUE, I'm not sure that it is the way to go. My previous scar is not that bad, and I do not want to shave my head. So, in short, any advice welcome on recommended surgeons to look up, headaches, fut vs fue... Thanks for your help. -A
