Dear All,
I am seeking some advice from the experienced posters and people who have gone through the process here. I have been a muted visitor to this site and talking it all in. little about me
I am a 41 year old male of Indian origin ( i am only stating this as this might help my end results or assessment) who have been suffering from hair loss for last 5 years. I was treated for being anaemic 1 year before. My blood and iron levels have come back to normal now. My HB level used to be 9. and feretin was 2.2. I had chicken pox in 2012. The picture with sunglasses was in 2012. I started noticing significant hair loss after this episode. May be it had started earlier than this. I am currently not on any multi vitamins or hair loss prevention cream or medications. I had never taken it before.
I have consulted a surgeon and has recommended 3500 scalp grats and another 500 body grafts. This was based on teh pictures i had sent to him. I would like to have some opinions from members here. I am seeking to understand
1. Should i visit a surgeon here in UK in person for a consultation to understand my hair characteristics and coverage area.
2. Should i be taking any medications before my hair transplant for it to be successful
3. How long will i be taking my post hair transplant medications. If i stop it will i loose hair. - I do not want to be on lifelong medication to save my hair
4. I am fairly ok with my hair loss, i understand this is a cosmetic procedure and thats how i am treating it. However i want to know how big the risk are with respect to infections ..
5. Will i be able to acheive the hair line i am expecting to have like the picture with sunglassess.
Many thanks for everyone in helping me out out with this journey.
