  1. I can't see any excessive redness or other indication of scalp trauma, which is the major thing I look out for at this stage. Looks good so far and I think you should start seeing things pick up in the next couple of months.
  2. Great hair characteristics on this guy. I like how the pre-op here looks to be showing a few of the different hairlines drawn and discussed before the surgery and I'm particularly fond of the final design for the corners. Very aesthetic.
  3. Great to see a patient result holding up four years later. Still looks great and I see you've been experimenting with different styling options. Dr. Vories did a great job on this one.
  4. I've had absolutely zero reduction in libido. It's as healthy as ever and shows no signs of stopping. 3+ years on the drug.
  5. Looks like there's some nice improvement in coverage throughout the scalp. Were grafts placed all over or was the work only in the frontal third or so? Perhaps medication also factored in. That's a lot of ground to cover with only 2500 grafts considering the pre-op state of the hair, but it's shocking how much of a difference that has made for his facial frame. This one must have been carefully planned out.
  6. Couto's geographical location does mean that the bulk of the patients he sees are going to have those nice Spaniard hair characteristics, and those go a long way. It's generally more indicative of a doctor's ability to see what they're able to do for patients with less than ideal hair characteristics.
  7. With the lowering of the hairline and the fact that some of the grafts were placed behind the hairline as well, I can definitely see the improvement. The hairline itself is much "cleaner" in appearance due to the increased density and presence of stronger hair. I'd also be interested in the graft placement, but I don't think the count is out of line at all. Most hairline cases will be at least 1k to 1.5k grafts if there's any lowering involved and for the area behind 500 is also not an unreasonable number depending on patient goals.
  8. OP, are you on Finasteride or Dutasteride? If so I would say the likelihood of your natives thinning naturally in such a short time is unlikely though possible. Another possibility is that you've suffered permanent shock loss, which could partly be the clinic's fault based on the scalp trauma you're describing. Individuals can obviously have unforeseen complications out of the doctor's control, but if the grafts are mis angled on top of that I'd lean more towards a clinic error.
  9. I'd like to see the updated photos before commenting much further, possibly with the hair spread a few different ways to better illustrate what you're talking about. With that said, although your hair loss wasn't extensive the area you transplanted into was nearly devoid of hair, and I you did end up lowering your hairline a good chunk. From what I've observed the hairline is a huge graft hog, even with great hair caliber like yours. I may be missing something with the limited information I have though.
  10. Definitely a big improvement here. Are the timelines for facial hair transplants any different than scalp transplants? I'd assume they're similar since they use the same donor, but I don't know if recipient area influences this at all...
  11. Definitely a stark difference in the scarring here. Hopefully the patient is able to achieve a satisfying result because it looks like enough of the donor area was compromised by the larger punch that his options may be limited in the future.
  12. The work looks crazy natural at this point. If I didn't already know there had been work done I would never guess it. And if it looks good even with someone else snapping your picture I don't know what more you could ask for.
  13. Great result, and with FUE no less. Seems like a general consensus that FUE is especially tricky with this hair type, but you would never know it looking at these results. Obviously those same hair traits can be beneficial in the end result, but only if the grafts survive. Given that the patient has such a great result with such a low graft count the survival rate must have been on point. Great work.
  14. PRP has been a beneficial addition for me on top of the "standard' medical regimen. I just had my second treatment about a month ago. You can see my thread here:
  15. Was this FUE or FUT? I'm also curious which technique the other clinic used for the previous procedure.
  16. For those who are interested, Dr. McGrath (mentioned during the above broadcast) has some videos on YouTube showcasing some of his own before/after photos from an exosome treatment 30 days prior. The results appear to be insanely good, though I wish the photos were larger. I've been able to dig up a few more photos of exosome cases from his clinic and others, and I will say the speed of the initial resoonse does seem to be startlingly quick. Obviously the process is in its early stages so it is not as refined as it could possibly be, but much like with PRP the efficacy and response to seem to differ slightly from patient to patient. Dr. Cooley and Dr. McGrath are supposedly writing a paper together on the efficacy of exosomes on hair regrowth, but it will likely be at least another year or so before we have a better sense of potential longevity of treatment as well as the most effective methods of delivery. Still, as someone who has actually seen good results from PRP+Acell, the prospect of a similar but potentially more potent treatment is intriguing.
  17. I had a hunch it would stabilize eventually if you stuck with it. Any time I've started new treatment with any kind of efficacy the shedding has been insane, and definitely cyclical. I suspect the minoxidil may have helped to speed up the regrowth process a bit although I wouldn't say it's the cause based on your previous postings. Great response.
  18. I think the demarcation isn't necessarily something to worry about until you're looking at the "final" results. That side had a good chunk more native hair to begin with, so it makes sense that it seems to be a bit ahead of the game. I think it will likely even out a bit more but the 12 month mark, and in the meantime whatever you're doing differently with the styling is definitely working for you.
  19. Definitely more visible fullness in that frontal area. You can really tell by the difference in volume in the before/after profile shots.
  20. Looking very good, and at six months you've still got some improvement to come. Have you started getting more frequent comments from family and friends?
  21. So the timeline on this one is about five years? That's a nice, gradual transformation. The greatest concern with hair loss is regression over time, but this patient has had a slow, steady improvement. Smart of him to jump on things at the early signs of loss. I would think he probably still has some grafts available for the future if necessary.
  22. Dry hair is looking pretty strong. Very interested to see what kinds of improvement you have in the next few months, but even where you're at right now I'm sure you notice a world of difference in terms of what you can do with your hair.
