  1. So…. Here is a pic of my receding hairline prior to any surgeries. Pic is not that great! My thick hair is covering quite a bit of the receding hairline. Second pic is current.
  2. lol..Absolutely!! I can already tell a difference 😀
  3. Here’s a current pic with hair combed they way my wife wants it
  4. With my last FUT , the doctor revised the existing scars. He did an amazing job, you can hardly tell there is a scar . Also, from what I’ve read, FUT provides more yield of grafts per cm from the strip as opposed to FUE.
  5. Let’s do a before and after This is life changing!!! Psychologically, I’m so healthy and happy! Yes… I still need to address the crown but at least my face is now framed and I have 4 months to go! Couldn’t be happier
  6. Okay… I’m exactly 8 months post op. Finally have a strong hairline:) I don’t style my hair back like this but wanted to reveal the hairline Thank you Dr Scott Alexander!!
  7. Currently been on oral finasteride for over a year and seems to be working. Decided to give Rogaine foam a try on my balding crown. Within 30 minutes I became extremely light headed and my heart started racing a little. It took a few hrs to wear off. So….. I tried but not for me The packaging does list this as possible side effects and urges to discontinue use.
  8. With my 3 surgeries…. I was just shocked at the unprofessionalism of the techs. Here I am spending many thousands of dollars only to listen to small talk and complaining!! Again… I must emphasize that my last surgery was perfect with both the physician and his techs. I will definitely be returning to him. Way too many variables play into this formula. Not to mention the dissection and storage of the grafts which require an experienced tech with a skillful hand. Anyway, very good responses here so far !!
  9. This is precisely the point I’m trying to make. Everything is relative, hence all the expertise displayed by the doc , is jeopardized with the techs do not follow the physician explicit instructions. Again, I’ve experienced this but….. not my last procedure which was unique in the sense that fresh techs rotated each hour in conjunction with the Doctor checking in frequently on their work.
  10. For me it’s just common sense. The handling, separating and implanting of the ever so delicate grafts is in most cases, the pure responsibility of the techs. Physicians have all these letters behind their names and the techs do not…. Just some training for the techs and call it good. One hears horror stories all the time regarding the techs and their unprofessionalism. I’ve experienced this but…. Not with my last FUT. The techs were exceptional. I’m so happy I have my hair back Thoughts??
  11. So… you have a thinning crown and started using Rogaine foam religiously. If this is you, could you respond to its efficacy ? Did it work for you or not?
  12. I’ve had 3 FUT . I was lied to about the graft count on the first surgery, which is basically stealing. My second surgery was good but not great and my 3rd was great leaning on excellent!! Be careful who you choose as there are many crooks out there that don’t know what the hell they are doing and neither do their technicians. On the positive side my last surgery experience again was really good and the staff was incredibly professional and now my results reveal that! The surgery is definitely worth it if you choose the right clinic. Be careful out there!!
  13. I truly appreciate your response. I now have a well established hairline and am excited to see more thickening in the next few months. Thank God my wife was with me
  14. Dr Alexander did exceptional work on the scar. He commented that there were some areas on the scar ( prior to his surgery) that had open spots with no hair! But was able to salvage what he could with his strip. My scar now is very minimal with no shock loss or stretching. He really took his time suturing and was picky in keeping everything sterile and clean. I feel really good with my current state. It’s been frustrating at times but I know I will eventually get there. I can’t stand my crown right now but will just use fibers as best I can to conceal or grow my hair to somehow cover until I get that filled,
  15. My first FUT was not a good experience in terms of graft count, which was supposed to be around 2000 in the frontal region. It was performed but Dr Blaine Lehr in Oklahoma City back in 2007. He is a dermatologist and had just started performing HT’s. Ironically , he stopped performing HT’s after just a year or so. I was naive and really just went to the closest clinic. Looking back, I don’t believe 2000 grafts were transplanted! I was on 1 mg oral finasteride for 3 years after the surgery. Fast forward to 2017 during which time my hair slowly continued to fall out, probably due to stopping finasteride but who knows. I then, after careful research , decided to go with Dr Arocha( recommend per this forum) in Houston . 2500 grafts( frontal and mid) with him and was really pleased with his communication with me post surgery. No finasteride after this surgery even though he suggested it and gave me a prescription for it. Fast forward 6 years to 2023 and I decided to go with Dr. Scott Alexander(2500 frontal)in Phoenix. I researched some of his work on here and various other forums and felt confident going with him. My goal with Alexander was to get my crown filled in but at his consultation, my wife and the Doc suggested I thicken up my frontal region instead of the crown. My hair now , is really thickening up and I will probably have one last surgery with Alexander to fill in the crown. I think my case is a prime example of the necessity to take finasteride in order to keep the hair you have. I believe the transplanted hairs have stood their ground but the surrounding native hairs kept falling out. I am currently on 1 mg finasteride now for 1 year. My plan is to grow out my hair as it is thick and has natural curl. Looking back at all this, I don’t believe the actual graft count promised was actually done. Do the math, 7000 grafts total , should cover a large portion of my head.
  16. First 3 pics are after my 2nd fut. Last 4 pics are current (6 months post op) my 3rd FUT One can clearly see how weak my hairline was after my 2nd fut. Ive also been on oral finasteride for a year now and believe this has helped retain some hair. My current hairline is strong, even at only 6 months post op.
  17. 6 months pics. Haircut between month 5 and 6 to even out the new growth. Growing right along
  18. I just underwent ( July 2023) a 2500 FUT with Dr. Scott Alexander in Phoenix and I was very pleased with all the professionalism and attention during the process. Im coming up on 6 months and very happy with the results so far. As previously mentioned, you ultimately make the final decision but….. be sure to go with a Doc that exhibits experience and great results and ask if their technicians are experienced. One characteristic that stood out for me with Dr Alexander and his team , involved the changing out of technicians each hour to reduce fatigue while implanting the grafts. Good luck !
