  1. Couple days short of 6 months! Crown definitely needs improvement, but so far happy with the progress given it continues to improve.
  2. 3 Months plus a week update. Got a number 2 trim at the back and sides yesterday, the donor area is still very much visible due to the density of hair above and below it, more so below it!
  3. I have been doing some research as well. “Study findings seem to indicate that pattern hair loss is more about how sensitive someone is to DHT rather than how much testosterone is converted into DHT.” - https://www.belgraviacentre.com/blog/are-high-testosterone-levels-and-male-hair-loss-linked/ My question is if you are on finasteride and minoxidil after a hair transplant, will taking whey protein have any effect on the results? This is what i used to use before the hair transplant but haven't been taking any since. http://www.gnc.com/protein_fitness/386359.html?productId=41785886
  4. I feel the same, I'll say I saw 50% shedding if not less and mostly from the sides. It can still shed as far as I know, and I won't be surprised if they shed while the others start growing. Just my opinion, others might know more about it.
  5. I had mine done by Dr. Bhatti 2 months ago, and yet to see any redness, besides occasional one after workouts.
  6. 2 Months Update- got the hair trimmed to no. 2 all around
  7. Some shedding in last couple days. No pain, some sensitivity here and there. Did a number 2 trim on the donor and non transplanted area last week.
  8. Donor area still red. Took this pic after a 2 mile walk, don't know if that matters.
  9. Yeah, I wondered if donor area needs the same level of protection as recipient area. I'm gonna buy one newsboy too.
  10. I had my transplant 14 days ago. Can't agree wit you more regarding the donor pain. It was crazy, especially day 5 to day 9. Even after pain killers, was very hard to sleep. Wanted to ask you regarding the spots and pimples on your donor, did they appear after 14th day or were their signs before that? I ask as right now, my donor area is completely clean, but wondering if I should get mentally prepared for those pimples..?
  11. Thanks! Yeah same here. My doctor gave me a black bandana and a black hat. I really liked the easiness of wearing that bandana, so I got 3 more tailored made, but in light colors (white and beige) 100% cotton. But after the fact, I noticed they are very thin and you can see through them. Guess I can't wear them in the sun. So I also ordered that 50 UPF sun brim hat.. haha, planning to go camping in a month, I'm sure it'll come handy. Need to go shopping for a nice call cap, the one I have (Cubs championship), is a snug fit.
  12. So all the crusts are off now on the 14th day. I see a lot of people say the recipient area gets red after the crusts are off, I do not see any redness, is it something which comes later on or maybe not everyone gets the redness? What can I expect next? pimples? shedding or both at the same time??
  13. Had FUE 10 days ago, and I understand that I need to protect my head from direct sunlight. I actually walk to and back from work everyday which is about 1.6 miles each way. I will say, 20% of the way I get hit by direct sunlight. I have'nt been walking since my transplant ofcourse, but now since I am 10 days post-op, I would like to continue the walk, as I really enjoy my commute. TO do this, I have been debating upon various ways on how I can protect my head. Nice cotton Bandana Baseball hat Wide brim Sun hat Bandana sounds really good to me, but then the ones I have, does not completely cover the donor area. Also, I need to wait a month at least before I can start using sunscreen lotions or sprays. What do you guys recommend?
  14. Donor area pain still lingers, but it is under control. 3-4 range out of 10.
  15. Was advised to take Lyrica, but the pain subsided. A lot better today, took a combiflam to be safe as now I board a flight for 15 hours.
  16. Good to know, all the stories I read about, never mention the day 4-5 donor pain, so I got worried. Good to know it's normal.
  17. Hi Swift, I am having the same pain post-op day 5. Took a combiflam, but no help. Been advised to take a lyrica now. I will be on a plane for 15 hours tomorrow, hopefully the pain will be bearable. Would welcome any advice/suggestions here.
  18. Day 5. Everything was fine but since last night my donor area has been hurting a lot. I took a combiflam as advised by my doc, but still in pain. Anyone else had this issue?
  19. No pain, no swelling so far. Following post care to the dot. Pics attached!
  20. After planning it for a month, I decided to go for an FUE hair transplant by Dr. Tejinder Bhatti in Chandigarh, India. History: 32 years old Male, been losing hair for almost 10 years now. Family history of MPB. After couple of initial consultations in US, a week of research on forums, and couple of private skype calls with Dr. Bhatti, I decided to get it done by him. Why Dr. Bhatti? : Very responsive. I was kind of skeptical initially as he is talked about a lot in various forums, and his clinic kind of sounded very commercialized to me. But even after my first conversation with him (which started with a simple email question and a very straight forward reply from him), I felt very much at ease, and then after couple of skype calls, I gathered that he is a very down to earth, straight talking person, and makes time for his patients to answer any questions with complete ease considering how nervous we all are regarding a hair transplant! Did I mention, you can always get in touch directly with him for any questions. Was definitely the case pre-op, and I hope it remains post as well. So, flew to Delhi, took a train to Chandigarh (Shatabdi - 3 hours). Stayed at Glades Hotel ( a decent hotel withing 7-8 miles from the clinic). Met with Dr. Bhatti, discussed the hairline, gave blood sample, and then back to the hotel. Got picked up by the driver at 7 in morning next day. Final hair line discussion, once I was happy with the recommendation, the process started around 8-830. Few hours later, a small breakfast break. Then back to the OT, and I think I was done by 3:30 PM. No pain at all!!! Very smoothly run operation. Went back to the hotel, slept with 3 pillows and a neck pillow. Woke up next day with no pain or any issues, Went back to the clinic for the dressing change, once all set, was ready to leave for the airport, and my luck, bumped my head while getting into the taxi cab and started bleading by the crown area Went back in right away, was told lost 6 grafts. Cursed my self for few seconds, then felt good as better it happened right away, and had the realization that I need to be extremely careful. Every step, every second, as the result going forward is all on me now. Overall, very satisfied, and if travelling is not an issue for you, I will recommend Darling Buds to any family, friends. Special shooutout to Ms. Shalini. She is the chief of staff for Dr. Bhatti running it all Total grafts: 3098 Single: 323 Double: 1987 Triple: 788 Front: 1589 Crown: 1509 Will update the thread with progress as days go by! FYI: Title says 3097, correct tally is 3098. Will look into how to edit the title later.
  21. Got it done with Dr. Tejinder Bhatti today. Was a very pleasant experience so far. Got 3097 grafts, FUE. Single: 323 Double: 1987 Triple: 788 Front: 1589 Crown: 1509 Pics attached, will update later.
  22. So, 3000, focusing on a conservative front line, would be a good start? I'm thinking of getting it done by Dr. Bhatti in Chandigarh, India.
  23. I am 32 years old, have been losing hair for almost 10 years now. I'm a pattern V-a on norwood scale. I have visited few local clinics about an FUE transplant, but every time I get stuck on what result am I looking for. I have attached my pics here, I understand the limitation of the donor area, but would 2500-3000 grafts be just a drop in the ocean, or will it actually make a difference? I understand my advanced stage of baldness, and will be fine with a conservative hairline. But can a decent density be achieved?
