Since I started taking propecia two years ago, I've had 3 periods of time (for a span of a 1-2 weeks) where my testicles have been tender/sore/painful. I'm curious if anyone else has had this side effect. If so, did you stop because of it? I don't want to stop taking it, but if it's doing damage to my body, I may have to.

Now that my hair is buzzed short, I want to protect my scalp from getting sunburnt... but does sunscreen make hair loss worse in any way, or damage my hair/scalp?

I'm wondering if the friction caused by the buzzer going against the grain of the hair will pull hair out faster than they would have coem out otherwise... to the point where it will noticeable accelerate your hair loss.

Dude... I'm in a similar position as you. I'm 23, and I'm losing my hair, I buzzed it a few months ago because I was sick of trying to hide my receding hair line. I have a huge forehead (well big head in general), so while the hair loss doesn't look as bad because the contrast is reduced, I don't think look nearly as good as I used to with longer spiky hair. However, I'm slowly beginning to realize something. No one cares. NO ONE. No one gives a damn about my hair loss, just like no one gives a damn about yours (meaning, no one thinks less of you because of it, no one that matters anyway). Before I started accepting the fact that I was losing my hair, I was fighting it as hard as I could. I was never happy, I didn't want to lose my house, I contemplated suicide... everything. I was obsessed with looking (and still am) in every reflective surface I come across, always wondering what I will look like... wondering if I'll accept myself this time. All this really screwed me up, it destroyed my self confidence and people then reacted negatively to me. I always got stares, people didn't like being around me, etc. It even was a major factor in why my last gf and I broke up. Lately, I've become much more confident, as I'm slowly (READ: SLOWLY!) becoming more comfortable with the fact that I may only have hair on my head for a few more years. As I get more confident, I start to realize that all those "weird looks" I got had nothing to do with my hair... they had to do with me. I was depressed all the time, I looked uncomfortable in my own skin... THAT'S where the looks and negative comments came from. It had nothing to do with my (or your) hair loss. Judging by your pictures, you have the perfect head for a buzz anyway. Seriously man, you look great. Your hair is also blonde which makes it really hard to tell you're losing it anyway (when its buzzed), mine is very dark so its easy to tell even when buzzed, but it does look better the shorter it is. Learn to accept your loss, build up your confidence, and life will be as great to you as you let it be. Focus on other things than your hair. Physical looks are fleeting anyway. Grab some new hobbies, travel across the world, look for a nice paying job. It will improve every aspect of your life. This is a gurantee and I am living proof. (And yeah, I know you probably don't want to hear any of this. I'm sure you just want to find the "secret" to ending your hair loss, but I figured I'd post this anyway)

- Also, where can I get a spray version? I bought roagine 5% but couldn't find one that didn't use a dropper.

Okay so I bought 5% and I have a couple application questions now: - my hair is buzzed, it's really short, should I still use 1 mL or can I get away with using less? - Should I ONLY apply it to my vertex like it says, or should I rub it into my hairline area as well. 1 mL seems to be a LOT for the small area of my vertex, and I'm assuming it wouldn't hurt if I rubbed it into my hairline area.

Also, what is the best brand or strength to use? I'm not sure what to buy.

I think I know the answer to this (potentially) stupid question but I want to make sure: If I start taking it, and stop because I get sick of it, will I ONLY lose the hair I kept because of the minoxidil? OR is it posisble that I will lose more than what I would have lost at that time without using it at all. I'm asking because I'm not sure how far my hair loss will progress (and how fast), so If I ever decide to stop using it, I want to make sure that I don't make matters worse.

I'm currently using Propecia, Nizoral 2%, and Nioxin. However, I'm starting to notice thinning in my crown and I'd like to prevent this (or at least slow it down). I don't think propecia or anyhting else has helped slow down my hair loss, but of course, I can't be sure. Anyway, I'm curious if you guys have used it and kept up with it? Have you found it difficult to apply twice a day? Do you keep a bottle or spray in your car just in case you don't go home that night? How long does it take to apply? Did you notice any improvement or slowing of your hair loss when you took it? Basically, I'm think about takign it, but I'm not sure I want to commit to it for the rest of my life. Obviously its a tough decision and I have to weigh the pros and cons (ex: how important my hair is to me). But I'd just like your input as well. Thanks in advance, Jordan

This would lead to a really noticeable and odd pattern of hair on your hair. Well, isn't there a way to get rid of those hairs if you wanted to? Even if it was to just wax your head? But what about laser surgery or something? I'm asking because based off my family history, I shouldn't be losing any hair, but I am. So, I guess there's no sure way to find out how far I will progress. I would like to get a transplant in a couple years but I'd also like to be confident that I won't look like a total moron 10-15 years from now.

I'm really not interested in using toppik as I hear you can't use it on your hairline. While yhe crown of my head isn't bad enough to start using it yet. How long should one wait before getting their (first?) transplant done?

Well I searched and came across one thread that had a lot of positive things to say about the hair club for men. I'm glad you posted here so I could hear a more negative reaction to it. I'm pretty early on in my hair loss. My temples are receding, the center of my hair line line is receding, the crown is thinning (no bald spot yet), and the top fo my head in general is slowly thinning. Its all pretty early, so I'm guessing I should wait a few years before I get a transplant? By the way, I'm 23. A couple questions: - How long should someone wait to get their hair transplant done? - How long does the hair in the back of your head have to be to cover the typical donar scar?

If so, what made you change to a hair transplant. Are they too costly? Do they not look as good and real as the pictures make them out to be? Whats the deal? I'm not sure I want to get a transplant because I've always kept the hair on my sides and back short, making that scar quite noticeable. I'm also a long ways away from needing a transplant. I'd like a solution right now as the propecia doesn't seem to be helping at all. Thanks in advance.

It seems I have everything going wrong with my head that is possible: -Scaly Dandruff -Hair Loss -Gray Hair I'm getting a good amoutn of gray hair now and I'm thinking about dying it every couple weeks. I want to make sure, however, what dyes are gentle on the scalp and won't worsen my hair loss and dandruff? The last thing I want to do is make those worse!
