  1. A little bit about myself: In 2005, when I was 18 years, I got my first hairtransplant from Dr. Karamikian. It was an unknown amount of grafts. In 2012 I did smp into the FUT scar at a beauty salon and the ink eventually bled and turned green. In 2013 I had 200 FUE into said FUT scar. In 2018 I got my second FUT hair transplant. At this time I was a norwood 3 vertex. I had approximately 2500 grafts implanted in the frontal band. The old scar was excised and Karamikian’s micrograft disaster was corrected. In 2019, 1 week ago, I went for my third FUT hair transplant. Approximately 1350 to thicken up the frontal band and 400 into the crown. I am currently 31 years old. I have been on TRT since 2012 below my doctor’s recommended dose. I am prescribed 200mg/week but I only take 40mg/week, the reason being I do not want the testosterone to convert into DHT causing more hair loss. I have bloodwork done every 3 months and my testosterone is on the lower end of normal range. Aside from slight weight gain in my abdomen, I feel fine and do not have any side effects. My question is, will starting finasteride at 1mg/day and increasing my dose to the prescribed amount of 200mg/week reduce the DHT enough to prevent hair loss and offset any potential finasteride side effects. I know my situation is unique, but I am wondering if there is anyone in the forum who has had any experience like I have had or any knowledge on the subject. When I brought up the topic of finasteride to my HT doc and my TRT doc they both stated there are potential side effects with the drug. Does the finasteride at 1mg decrease dht 80% in the body no matter how much exogenouse testosterone is introduced? All I can find on the effects of different finasteride doses on DHT levels are attached on these two graphs.
  2. I am 7weeks post op and have redness in recipent and scar area. Is there any other lotions, creams, gels, besides aloe vera to relieve the redness. It does not hurt, but i want to get the redness off so i can smp into scar area.
  3. Long time lurker first time poster. I felt the need to chime in on this thread. I recently had my 3rd HT with Dr Bloxham earlier this month and I must say he is very passionate about his work, knowledgeable, and an artist. There were complications during my HT because my blood was very thin which made it difficult for the Dr to make incisions but he worked through it and im over two weeks post op and im loving the results. All my transplanted hairs have not fell out yet. He excised the old FUT scar from Dr Karamikian (who i despise) and everything has been great thus far. Communication has been great. He even gave me his personal cell phone which i needed to text him over the weekend and he replied right away. Long story short, whether Dr Feller did the Ht or Dr Bloxham, I knew the reputation the practice has and was fine with either Doctor. I dont think Dr Feller would put his reputation on the line by partnering with a putz. Dr Bloxham is the real deal. If you have any doubts just check out their youtube channel. It’s very informative and he answers questions in the comments section. I think i read he was a mod on here for 5 years. Dont know if that’s true but he is a frequent poster on the forum. Check out his work. It’s impressive. To add, their is a technician in their office who has been working there for over 15years! I cant say enough about the experience. If the results are not good i will be back on the forum but i have no doubts they will be great. I live in NY and didnt price any other practices so I am not aure how much more expensive they are compared to others as some have seemed to post, but you get what you pay for. I am happy with the results thus far even tho it is still early.
