  1. Based on the mechanism it is described to work through, blocking the scar forming pathways, it seems like the medication has to be dosed after a fresh wound is made so that it is in the tissue while the tissue is healing and when the scar formation would be occurring. If the wound is done healing and scar formed already my guess is that it would not have the same effect. for stretch marks I hear laser treatment is pretty solid for reducing their visibility and making them much less visible. I plan to try this sometime soon myself
  2. Interesting. Any idea on how long it takes for them to regenerate and be available for transplant? And cost?
  3. Is Vertoporfin a hair treatment? I googled it and it said it was for blood vessels in the eye?
  4. I part my hair in several lines and dab my finger on the counter where I pumped it and rub it along these scalp lines and then I turn around and do my crown area separately at the end. When I’m actually doing it and not doing photos I can expose the scalp pretty well and prevent the gel from just getting stuck on the hair strands and actually get it onto the skin
  5. I think that’s just mental/placebo man. Your first topical application for only 4 hours and already a ball ache? I’ve been able to spread it out through my entire top scalp including crown. I pump onto counter and then use a hair parting rod and rub it throughout each part and in back on crown.
  6. I just put it on at night before bed then shower 23 hours later. Another option just put it on in morning and then shower it off at night like 8+ hours later
  7. I don’t know the timeline of absorption unfortunately
  8. Well minoxidil says don’t wash for 4 hours and since xyons whole thing is about keep the medication in the gel and releasing more slowly into the skin because of the gel it should definitely be on longer than minoxidil
  9. I tried to get info from Wong on this for planning how long I need to wait before I shower. But I think if you wait 8 hours that should be sufficient
  10. Yeah you can make that argument. I’m just going off the idea that topical tends to be less systemically absorbed and the fact that Xyon has shown that their specific gel formulation takes topical application even further by reducing the amount of systemic absorption even more than other topical dutasteride solutions do.
  11. Yes I took oral finasteride for 11 months and didn’t really experience sides. But my first surgeon cautioned me to get off of it because he had heard stories of people becoming impotent or having sexual issues after being in the medication for awhile. Then when I got off of it is when I experienced side effects and the infamous post finasteride syndrome which took months to get back to normal but was unable to get hard at all for awhile. And now I am on son’s topical dutasteride and am not noticing any changes in my sexual ability. I don’t get morning wood, but I stopped getting that years ago.
  12. I experienced post finasteride syndrome for awhile it took several months to go back to normal. I’m on xyon topical dutasteride and minoxidil currently no issues
  13. Like even on face where the minoxidil isn’t Applied?
  14. Has he said why? Xyon sent me an article saying they’ve found combining minoxidil with finasteride gets better results than just finasteride alone
  15. You can that’s why I am doing them separately until they make the combo
  16. Ones a gel one is a liquid and they can interfere and make application less good for each I think. Also I asked dr wong he said apply separately
  17. I am doing minoxidil in afternoon or morning and xyon dutasteride at night I buy them separately
  18. I suggested to them that they make a dutasteride and minoxidil combo too and the rep said they submitted the suggestion. I’m sure they would capitalize on that as well in near future
  19. I had side effects when I came off oral finasteride but they went away. As far as sides while taking xyon at night before bed I haven’t noticed anything
  20. I feel like since it is a viscous gel and easily sticks to the skin under the hair on top of the scalp it just sits there. The only part that touches my pillow is the back and side of the head and these parts don’t have any gel on them. It’s just on the top of the head
  21. He said he was microdosing topical and microneedling together. And the microneedling would make it easier for the topical solution to get inside the blood stream
  22. How long were you microneedljng plus putting xyon on and how frequently? What were the sides and how bad?
  23. And combining both prevention/regrowth with hair transplants can improve the hair situation even more substantially than the alternative
  24. Also $100/month * 12 is only $1200 yearly. Over the course of 10 years that’s 12,000. Your hair transplant with Hasson was probably around 9000. And without prevention assuming you keep thinning you’d need multiple surgeries of 1000 grafts to keep chasing the thinning so it would be more cost effective in the long run + option of also doing a transplant for ever more hair maximization
