  1. Sorry for the late reply. @John Smith198, I haven't shaved my head in a long time, but I'm pretty sure the scar is very small. I think I can have my hair very short before you see any sign of a scar. @hanginginthewire, I was balding quite badly in the front, and had some minor thinning around the crown area, which has continued a little bit. So maybe NW 4 or something? @NicoAustralia, Hope it went well !
  2. @Aftermath, thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll try that ! @home1212, thanks mate. Yeah, that's what it feels like. @Yake, thanks. I think that would be a bit too much for this hairline though, as it looks very natural in person right now. Maybe a few years down the line, if the hairs naturally get slightly thinner or something. 😉 @BjornBorg, thanks man, feels good. < 3
  3. Thanks MrZennie. Yeah, it varies from person to person, so it's important not to freak out if it takes longer to grow than other people on the forum. Here are some additional photos with overhead view + pulled back.
  4. 1 year update. I feel like the hair transplant is pretty much complete at this point. The hair feels strong and the follicles seem to have a good blood supply. I had a lot of area to cover, so I'm really happy with how it turned out. It looks very natural and easy on the eyes. I should probably get a haircut soon, but I think it's a bit fun to walk around with a big mop and have people think: "Wow, that's a lot of hair!". Anyway, feel free to ask if you have any HT questions.
  5. Hi, I'm not a Rahal patient, but I did have a 3200 FUT procedure. If it's really fresh you can just clean it with a gauze and some disinfectant (I used Chlorhexidine). You then apply the antibiotic ointment either with your hands or a gauze, it doesn't matter. Just make sure your hands are clean. If you feel like it's ready for some shampoo, just use your hands with water, dry it, and then apply the ointment.
  6. Yeah, it can be quite hard not to obsess about it during the growing period, but be assured that your grafts will come out, and I think you can expect pretty much all of them to have survived. It's very rare that grafts just die and never grow, especially with FUT. To answer your question, I was a bit of a slow grower, so I didn't really see great results until about 8 months, but a lot of people see them at 6 months. It varies from person to person. After 10 months I experienced more growth and better texture quality. I had a lot of scalp to cover, so it was somewhat of a challenge to cover it all with just 3200 grafts, but it worked out very well. It all looks very natural, and there's no trace of a transplant to a regular person, or anyone really, in my opinion.
  7. Hi Yolando, you already have quite a lot of hair already(more than I had), so with a big FUT procedure like that you're in for some great results. I had a FUT with Dr. Konior a year ago, and I'm very pleased with the results. It can take 6-8 months before you really start to see some great growth, so make sure you don't stress too much over it everyday. Anyway, happy growing ! Here's my thread if you wanna check it out. I might update it soon.
  8. 10 months The hair has thickened up quite a bit in the past couple of months. I've pretty much just let it grow and do its thing from the surgery day until today, so it's a bit long and wild right now, but I couldn't be happier with how it looks, and also the texture/quality of it. The follicles seem to have a really good blood supply. It's just a completely new frame and look from how it was before the surgery.
  9. Definitely go for FUT if you're gonna need a lot of grafts. Your donor area will then be pristine above and below the scar, compared to an FUE session where you damage the entire donor area.
  10. That is unfortunately not a true statement from the clinic. All FUE sessions damage the donor area for future operations, especially for FUT procedures. Some patients might look great back there after 6000 grafts have been taken, but the donor area will have less grafts to work with. It's also important to note that some patients will not look good. Everyone are different, so it all depends on your hair texture and quality.
  11. Konior, Hasson and Wong, and Shapiro are top FUT doctors. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I'm familiar with. I think Dr. Feller, Bloxham and Cooley are pretty good too, but I haven't done that much research on them. If you do another big FUE session your donor area is most likely gonna be done, but if you opt for FUT you're still gonna have areas above and below the scar to take from. It's pretty simple math. Plus, FUT is cheaper if money is an issue for you.
  12. @mephesto, I haven't looked back there in quite a while, but I think the scar is very small and not very visible. I might throw up a picture when I get some time.
  13. I think you should strongly consider going for a FUT procedure with a top rated surgeon. That way you maximize your chances of getting a good result. It's a shame so much of your donor area has been wasted on a bad FUE megasession, but hopefully you can get it fixed with a good FUT surgery. With FUT they are able to cut out the grafts without damaging them, something they can't do with FUE.
  14. Very impressive results for FUE, it looks great. But I have to say that I think it's a bit irresponsible of doctors to do such big FUE megasessions on first time patients, especially when it's obvious they will need more work done in the future. Stripping out their donor area like that the first time doesn't feel right to me.
  15. Really impressive, it looks the same as FUT results. He must be a very happy patient. What kind of FUE method is this, exactly? The grafts seem to be in almost pristine condition.
  16. Thank you. Yeah, there could be more maturing and growth all the way up to 2 years. Good luck with your procedure. You picked a great surgeon !
  17. close to 8 months (with direct sunlight pics) Really happy with the results so far. The frame in my face is back and people no longer look up there. I have some lingering dry skin from some allergic symptoms, but that is also getting better. Included are pictures in daylight, as well as direct sunlight, which is the harshest conditions for hair transplants. Even that looks good in person, in my opinion. It looks a bit worse on camera.
