  1. Bump. Anyone else able to share their experience? Especially from the face (above jawline...mainly the chin, mustache and soul patch areas, which is where I’m looking to use as donor) Thanks
  2. Would manual punch be best for this situation? Do you know which doctors are best at extractions from the chin? Thanks
  3. What i mean by Acell and PRP is when it is applied to the donor area after extraction. Not as a standalone procedure. Does anyone have a list of doctors who use only manual punches? Thanks
  4. Hi guys, People who have had hairs taken from their beard ABOVE the jawline (chin, mustache, under the chin), have you had any issues with scarring/hypopigmentation? I've heard only good things about beard FUE extractions, even above the jawline (mainly from HDC clinic and Dr. Bisanga) I am looking to get this done, with small punch size (hopefully 0.6-0.8mm) plus Acell and PRP. Not sure which doctor to go to yet. Any recommendations? You are probably wondering why. I am looking to reverse a scalp to beard FUE i had done before. I don't like it, it looks bad, I have gaps in my scalp donor area that I want to fix, and i just want to get this over and done with. Thank you
  5. How much does Dr Wesley charge per scalp and body hair graft?
  6. Hi all, I was wondering what you guys thought about Dr. Carlos Wesley. I'm interested in going to him for a repair of my donor area, and have heard great things about him, including some repairs he's done on other people's donor areas. I've narrowed it down to him and one more clinic. Anyone had experience with him, good or bad? Thanks
  7. Has anyone had FUE scars that got worse with time? I feel like after 5 months, my FUE scars are now becoming hypopigmented. Before, the skin was normal color, and now they've become whiter than the surrounding areas. Will they get better with time? Thanks
  8. Hey Spidey, How do you plan on dealing with the scars in your donor? Or is your donor area healed up well enough that you dont see any scars once shaved?
  9. To both Spidey and Harry Do you find that the native hairs (non-transplanted hairs) cause the same skin irregularities, or is it just the hair grafts that were transplanted? If its all hairs that are causing these irregularities, perhaps its natural and we can't do anything about it
  10. Abbie, it looks amazing! Are you able to share photos of the nape donor area to show if there is any potential scarring in the area? I am considering Dr. Umar for a repair and would like to use primarily nape hair. I have light fair skin and dark hair. I want to know if Dr. Umar's approach will leave any scars. Thanks
  11. Thanks home. I have thought about it but I honestly prefer hair in those gaps...at least the ones lower down the donor area. The reason I want to use the nape hair is because I don't like it (it grows out very quickly and ruins my haircuts after a couple of days; i considered laser removal but would love to use it as a donor if I could). But i appreciate the concern and the advice. Has anyone here had nape hair used with success?
  12. Sean, Do you have any scarring from your nape hair extractions? And did they not grow for you at all? Do you mind me asking who did you procedure? I see all the cases Dr. Umar has done using nape hair and body hair, with success. Is he the best out there for this? Actually, it seems many people are using nape for various purpose with success, but when I hear stories like yours, it puts me on edge. Thanks
  13. Hi all, I'll start off by saying I don't suffer from any hairloss, nor do I have a family history of it. I had a 550 graft FUE done (all double hairs, split into 1100 single hairs) from scalp to facial hair region. It has left some gaps in my donor area that you can see when I cut my hair short, and I'm not happy with it. I have lots of nape hair that I dislike, and have even thought about laser hair removal for it back in the day. Thankfully I didn't, and now I'm considering use of this nape hair to fill in those gaps in my hair. I don't have much in terms of hypopigmented scarring, because my skin is quite fair. But the dark hair to fair skin contrast makes the gaps obvious. Since I don't like my nape hair, I was hoping to use it for a repair of my donor area. I understand that in some people, nape hair diminishes over time, but 1) I don't foresee it happening in my family, as my father and grandfathers all have their nape hair still and 2) If i lose it in 10-20 years down the road, it would still be worth the years I got out of it. My question is: Aside from Dr. Umar, who else is recommended for doing these procedures? Also, I know there is risk of scarring for any puncture of the skin, but how does the nape usually heal? Dr. Umar said nape extractions work very well and don't leave visible scarring if done correctly. I already have a scar from an unrelated medical surgery in the area of my nape, which is likely to stand out more than punch extraction scars, but I'd still like to avoid it if possible (e.g. with use of Acell and PRP?) Thanks all
  14. My doctor ensured me multiple times that this would not be an issue. But clearly, it has become one. Is my analysis of the picture correct, or am I over-reacting here? The extraction points just seem to line up with my bald spots now. My density doesn't look great either but was never ever told this.
  15. I'm now at 2 months post-op. I'm starting to really worry. I still have huge gaps in my donor area, and the hair is at a reasonable length (1-2 guard) I took a look at immediate post-op pics, and compared to my hair today after a haircut. I'm worried that my doctor did not warn me that I was a low-density patient. Please look at the pictures attached. They took 3 FUs (circles in blue) and the corresponding area is now bald and devoid of any hair, leaving a huge gap. Am I freaking out for no reason, or am I on to something? I have coarse black hair, but i'm not sure if my density was actually good or not, and I was never warned. Everyone has told me that at 2 months, its still early and I can't tell how it will look. But i have several of these gaps in my hair now, and even at a reasonable length cut, it looks bit gaps. I'm losing hope and am hoping that someone has some positive insight.
  16. Sometimes people want to cut their hair in a certain hairstyle that requires shaving parts of your head. For me, I was told that there would be no visible signs of surgery, and unfortunately I believed the doctor. Now I'm hoping that things will improve with time because I want to continue wearing my hair that way. Thats why i'm asking.
  17. I just really don't want to pigment my head, thats all. I am just hoping now that the scars will contract and fade. I'm wondering even if i scar widely, will it eventually contract and become smaller?
  18. Gasthoerer, Thanks for the reply. I am not so concerned about the nape in particular, but if you look all over, there are dots everywhere. I refuse to get SMP because it will look very bad if i continue to cut my hair in a skin fade. Do the holes look too big for 0.85mm to you as well, possibly suggesting shock loss?
  19. Thanks HLS2015. I'll try to be patient. My holes do not seem to be hypopigmented, do they? I was attributing it more to missing hair follicles than actual hypopigmented scarring. I usually don't scar when I cut my skin, so I'm hoping i'm lucky in that regard. Also, it seems that there is hair surrounding every single extraction that was lost. Is it common to see that in all the extraction sites? Or did the doctor use a punch that was larger than said? It seems like for every extraction he did, 2-3 surrounding hairs were lost in the process.
  20. Thanks for the reply. I don't have any beard hair. All I have is semi-coarse leg hair, and a bit of hair around nipple and stomach areas. How much did your donor improve before you did body hair transplant? I don't think I'm low in density. I just need hair follicles to replace those visible gaps. Would leg hair not be feasible at all? It's more of a visual filler when I cut my hair short than it is for density. Is this unusual for 500 extractions? I've seen cases where way more extractions were done and it looks great. 0.85mm punch was used and healing was uncomplicated to this point.
  21. I mean to the bone. And I made this very clear at multiple consultations with the doctor. I will be making a post with regards to that in the near future. Would that leg hair look natural if i keep my hair short (again, i like to keep it razor shaved or at least very very short). Or would it look bad? Its not that I'm lacking density...its more that I need to fill in those gaps. I'm just afraid leg hair would be too thin and not give that nice "stubble" look when shaved down. Im currently only a month post-op. I've been reading about telogen effluvium and was wondering if that applies to my case; if this is the reason why i have gaps in my donor area (because the surrounding hairs have been shocked). I am in my late 20s, and I read that it more commonly affects younger males. So I was wondering if this will get better in the next few months. I only had 500 double hair grafts taken, which I've been told is very small, but the damage looks huge.
  22. Hi all, I have recently had a FUE procedure with a doctor who promised me that there would be no visible signs of an FUE procedure having been done. I've since shaved my head, and of course, i see very obvious signs of my FUE procedure. While they do not look like hypopigmentation scars, there are obvious gaps in my hair now because there are missing hair follicles. I am currently just over a month post-op. I was wondering if leg hair could be used to fill in those gaps and camouflage the gaps. I often get a skin fade hair cut, which requires razor shaving the bottom half of my hair. I know people don't usually put hair back into their donor area, but in this case, I need to, and I was wondering if this was possible. Pigmentation is not an option for me because of how I cut my hair. Thank you
