  1. Thanks Dolph. So just to clarify. Was my procedure 613 grafts taken from the donor area then? I'm hoping my procedure was even smaller than I thought. Thank you.
  2. Thanks for the reply Dolph So in my case, if there were 613 two hair grafts extracted and split into 1228 single hair grafts, I should be charged for 613 grafts right? Because there's 1226 hairs? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding. I was just told by a few people that splitting a two-hair graft into 2 single-hair grafts still counts as one graft.
  3. They wrote per graft on the invoice, not per hair, so that leaves me unclear as to whether I was charged incorrectly. Don't all clinics follow the same method for charging hair transplants? Thanks mattj
  4. And does 613 double hair grafts mean that my actual procedure was only 613 grafts so its a very small procedure?
  5. 613 double hair grafts were split into 1228 single hair grafts. However I was charged for 1228 grafts. Should I have been charged for 613 or 1228 grafts? Overall, if I'm not at risk of hair loss (no family history and I'm not suffering from it) should I be worried that my donor is over harvested? Thanks Gillenator
  6. Thanks for the kind words home1212 I am currently 28 years old and actually do not suffer from a family history of hair loss. I'm actually very worried that when I cut my hair short on the back and sides, you'll be able to see those white FUE scars. However, after my most recent haircut last week, my barber said he could not see anything. Right now, my healing is slow. Still red in the recipient area after two weeks. The depression is real. I feel like I've made the worst choice of my life. If I get these hairs lasered off, I feel as if I've wasted the limited hair that I was born with (I'm not worried about the monetary cost...just the cost of my hair). Thanks for the encouragement.
  7. Thanks home1212 I was wondering if that's consider a lot of grafts? I'm not happy with what I've had done. It looks unnatural and I'm willing to just get rid of it all via laser hair removal after it's healed up. However, I'm worried that I've unnecessarily wasted a lot of grafts and the donor area will now look terrible. This has left me in a regretful and depressed state.
  8. I went in for an FUE procedure and was charged for 1200 grafts. It was a facial hair procedure. However, the technician who did the extraction said only 600 "holes" were made in my donor area. Does that mean only 600 units were removed, and 1200 hairs were used? I'm hoping that less units were removed. I don't want to damage my donor area too badly. But I was still curious why I was charged for 1200 in this case. Thanks!
  9. I'm also getting very upset and depressed thinking about possibly losing the 1200 grafts I just used up. I do not have a family history of hair loss, so should I be concerned? Is it possible to put those hairs I just had transplanted back into the donor area, or does that risk scarring? If I were to laser these hairs off, will I risk any thinning of my remaining hair or will I be ok? Right now, when I look at my donor, it looks fine, but I am afraid that if I cut it very short (no guard or a 1), it will look thinned. I believe there is no scarring in my donor area, and I've asked many people. On a side note, can dormant hair follicles in the donor area grow later to fill in places where follicles were removed via FUE? Overall, I'm devastated by what's been done. Yes, it was my choice to want to go ahead with this, but I feel as if the doctor was not completely honest with the post-op (e.g. told me I'd be fine after a few days...my skin is still red and I'm officially 15 days post-op while using aloe vera daily), and it does not have a natural shape to it.
  10. The topical steroid cream was recommended by my doctor for a short period of time. I've since stopped. Why does the steroid cream cause redness to linger? Has this caused more damage now? The procedure was two weeks ago. My skin is fair and my hair is dark.
  11. How long will this redness last? The doctor said I would look normal a few days after procedure, and now I feel like I've been lied to. The redness clearly outlines where the procedure was done and I can't go outside. It's too obvious.
  12. Hi all, I've recently had a facial hair transplant and am quite disappointed with how it looks. It looks very unnatural because I don't have much hair on my face, except for a thick mustache, goatee, and soul patch now. I understand it is in the initial healing stages (which, by the way, after two weeks is still very red. Is this normal?) but I really dislike the look. It looks very unnatural and poorly done. Moreover, I can't go out because my face is extremely red. I've tried topical corticosteroids, which haven't done much in the last few days. I was wondering if laser hair removal could be done at a later date to remove all of the transplanted hairs. Would it leave any scarring? As far as I know, transplanted hairs are no different than normal hair, so laser hair removal should work, yes? I have dark hair, light skin. Thanks everyone.
