  1. I'm in about the same boat...Its good to know. I'm headed for a HT next month. about same amount of grafts and type. Hope mine goes about as quick.
  2. Here is part of a Q/A he has on his website Daniel, Thanks for contacting me. Some of the photos are from the past when we did fewer grafts per day — especially when we were doing FUE by hand. We now use a mechanical device for FUE so we are faster. The patient who needed three days had severe scarring and large grafts from prior, outdated procedures. A mass redistribution was done using FUE in which large grafts from the past were debulked and retransplanted, new grafts were taken from a very limited donor area, and some grafts were placed into prior strip scars. Repair cases, when done correctly, often take longer. In general at this time we can do 2000 strip grafts in a day, to have more done it would take a second day. We can do 4000 grafts in two consecutive days. For FUE we can now do 1000-1200 grafts in a day, so 2000 would take two days. I have a small staff and specialize in custom, high quality work. An assistant and I place all grafts. Fewer than 20% of doctors doing hair transplants do ANY placement at all; few, if any other than me, place 50% of all grafts. Everything we do is to maximize graft survival and to get as close to 100% growth as possible. We do one case a day and are not interested in seeing how many cases or grafts we can do in a day. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Best regards,
  3. Just walk in and if anyone asks, tell them you had a HT. Women get their ass's worked on and boob jobs all the time...Just tell them the truth. Don't worry about what others think....
  4. Hello guys. Thanks for replies. The question has me stumped too, I'll get the answer from the Dr and let you know. Thanks
  5. It bothers most people regardless of age. I'm 52 In the last year, I had a lady that was working in a store i went into that i was like her because I mentioned the song that was playing on the speaker. she said "your like me, your a child of the 50's" tha'ts the reason I liked the song.....Then the other day I bought movie tickets and the lady gave me the senior discount without asking. Went looking at record albums in a yard sale. I told her that she had some good records for sale. This lady looked rough. She said" Yes, but you and I were teenagers in the early 70's. So losing hair effects you at all ages. I'm married to a great looking wife, have two kids, and a great life...but the hair being gone still bothers me and I'm planning on fixing it in Sept...
  6. I'm having a HT on Sept 20-21 The Dr says he can only do about 2200 FUT in a day. He has been doing it for over 26 yrs. So needing 25-2700 I am glad he scheduled it for 2 days...
  7. I was just curious. I see these high number of graft cases and just wonder the time involved. I've scheduled with Dr Bradley Wolf. and its for next month. Its going to be over 2 days which is no problem at all, just was wondering about all the big number cases.
  8. I'm reading on here about all these 3-4 and even 5 thousand graft sessions. How many day surgeries are these? I went to several consults before I decided on one in Ohio. One said they could do as many as 3000 in a day. I decided on one that said about 2200 grafts was all the FUT they could do in a day. So figuring I will need around 2500-2700 Its now scheduled for two days. In all reality, how many can be placed in a 8-10 hour window? Thanks
  9. I just read the whole thread. I'm getting a HT this fall with Dr Wolf. I did a in office consult with him and he advised that FUT was a better option then FUE in my case. I have seen 3 different Dr's before deciding and all 3 of them said that I was a excellent patient for FUT. I was told that the only way my donor hair could be any better was if it was curly. I'm 52 and have had back surgery that left a scar and had colon surgery that left a nice scar. One on the back of my head covered by hair is no big deal.
  10. Have been watching your progress. It looks great. I've chosen a Dr (Wolf) and have had a consult. But have been chicken to pull the trigger. I'm calling tomorrow and setting a date. Your results look great.
  11. I think your knocking yourself over nothing. I know each person has their own likes and dislikes. But to me the original pics look fine. I myself have thought about it for years. I'm 52 though. I have been to 3 different HT physicians and have chosen 1 I have thick and plenty of donor hair to use. It didn't really bother me until people started giving me the senior discounts everywhere I went...lol
  12. Doesn't look natural to me. Not being harsh, it just doesn't. I'm planning a HT of my own. Why are you attempting this system? Just being curious Thanks
  13. Hello everyone. I've lurked on here for quite sometime and have done research forever it seems.I visited 3 different Dr's/clinics and have settled for Dr Wolf in Cincinnati. I haven't found anyone that has anything other then good things to say about him. I went to his office about 4-5 months ago for a consult. He answered everything I asked and didn't try to push his services. All three places I went looked at my donor area and said I was a great patient for FUT. When I left Dr Wolf's office, he said if I had any more questions to just call and that the cost and everything was on his website. The first place I went was one that is advertised on TV every night. They have hounded me with calls and emails since. They also quoted a price about double the rest. I know people on here say they don't see much of his work on here, so when I start I will update pics of the whole process with him......Any advice from those that have gone before me? Thanks...
