  1. There's famous clinics performing manual FUE megasessions on a daily base, they are well documented in this same forum and consistent with it. The results are clearly showing high regrowth ratios.
  2. These are my 12 months pictures. I am very pleased with the result and i will take pictures at month 15 (the final destination) to see if there's further improvement.
  3. Hi there, thanks for the comments. I will be soon at month 12, so i will post some updated pictures with a shorter haircut. I will also ask the clinic for some more pics of the operation plan.
  4. Mcgregor82 - 1312 grafts "Long Hair FUE" with Dr. Koray Erdogan - 21.07.2016 INTRODUCTION Hello to all the forum users. In this thread i would like to bring documentation about the operation i had on the day 21.07.2016 with Dr. Koray Erdogan, in Istanbul, in his clinic Asmed. I am 35 years old and i'm from Italy, using Finasteride since 2001 (16 years of usage). I always had a wide forehead and my hairline began receding at the age of 19. Luckily enough i had very positive outcomes by using Finasteride, with an increase of the perceived density after 6-12 months of usage. I also responded positively so far in the terms of the potential side effects, which were null, and also about the efficacy of the treatment on the long term. I believe i managed to preserve roughly 97% of my original hair since the beginning of the treatment. Exactly 10 years ago, in 2007, i had another positive event in relation to my hair loss as i had my first FUE operation with Dr. Koray Erdogan. The operation took place in his old clinic, where i received around 2000 grafts on my frontal area by manual FUE and obtaining a positive outcome. Since then i always kept on touch with Dr. Koray and his clinic, helping them occasionally, for example in the instances of congresses or meetings with the patients. The technique, the clinic and the team were very different than today's, so i would like to focus this thread on my latest surgery, which took place on July 2016. THE OPERATION I received 1312 grafts in the frontal part, prevalently in areas already having healthy hair growing. The goal of the surgery was to modify and increase the density of the hairline and temple areas including the temple points. The main feature of interest of my operation is it was a "Long Hair FUE". This means it has been done without shaving or cutting any of my hair in both the donor and recipient part. Basically, Dr. Koray and his team extracted and transplanted the follicles while keeping the whole long hair within them. This has been done by the use of a special manual punch designed by Dr. Koray. As far as i know, the rest of the surgery was performed according to the the standards of the regular operations: blades for incisions, KEEP tool for implantation. Because of the long hair, the extraction would have taken slightly longer. Apart from this i have the feeling that the staff always had the situation under control and the operation day proceeded very fluidly toward its end. AFTER THE SURGERY When i looked in the mirror immediately after the surgery and, even better, on the next day, i had the expected surprise of obtaining a preview of what the potential result would have been. The difference given by over 1300 grafts on the frontal part is obvious as the new frontline design gave me a great aesthetical boost. Despite being aware of the fact the hair will have to fall and regrow anyway, the sudden obtention of such benefits has been quite exciting. In relation to the days and the months after the operation, the evolution went according to plans. Having the hair long helped concealing the situation even if this was not an issue to me. The first real grow came at about 3 months after the operation but i think a noticeable part of the transplanted hair didn't fall in the beginning. Because of this i think that, after the surgery, my hair always looked better than before. In general i think i started feeling satisfied by month 5-6. Nowadays it's exactly 11 months past my operation. What to say, i think my hair style looks really good all the time now. Not feeling in need to comb is my biggest satisfaction: the hair looks good short or longer, tidy or wild, wet, dry, and combed in any direction. Most of the time i don't have to touch them or give any specific styling apart from getting one haircut a month. I will now post the pictures of my operation and its evolution so far, as uploaded by the clinic for another Italian forum. As you can read i am very happy about my actual result and i believe the procedure obtained a very high regrowth ratio. I also think this "Long Hair FUE" procedure is not so common these days but it will definitely become more of a standard in the future and will be performed by many clinics together with the regular shaved one. Therefore i hope my experience will be of interest and use to someone. If anybody has questions, i will be very happy to answer.
