Hi there, I am new to hair loss. I panicked about 2 months ago, as I stared onto my increasingly bare forehead. I am 28 years old, and I asked my Dad when he began to loose his hair. He said it was around when he was 28 too. Further panic ensured. I spoke to a friend of mine who recommended that I went to see a private specialist. However, before I did I went along to boots and noticed that they were offering propecia. I immediately signed up, and now have been going for around 7 weeks. (with a 4 day break in the middle, due to leaving pack behind on holiday). I have been horrified to find that in the last two weeks I have been a progressively faster reduction of the thickness of my hair, and a faster growth of the bald patch on the front. Can anyone suggest why I have seen an increase. I am naturally putting it down to propecia not working, but I read something about pre sheding? Many thanks for any posts. I am so keen not to be bald like my dad!!!
