  1. hi there, i bought the same from united pharmacies! Any luck with your investigations? Thanks!
  2. Hi There! I had my third op, 2nd with Dr. Shapiro two weeks ago. He implanted 1678 grafts in the temporal and front to give me a thicker hairline. If the outcomes are anything like the previous operation, I'll be over the moon. Compared another 'good' doc I had the first op with, Shapiro is in a class of his own. Besides, he simply a really good person. Let me know if you want me to mail you photo!
  3. Dear Sirs and Fellow Sufferers. Your knowledge and experience on the following would be really appreciated. I am 30, have had two procedures (in London - June 02 and with Ron Shapiro in Dec 03). I have been on Proscar since the first operation. Since visiting Ron (who is brilliant) I have experienced amazing results - honestly. I always go through the shedding phases, but all is well after a few weeks. However, I have now been shedding for just over three months. I am now the thinnest I have been in a long time. During this period, I had a three week gap when I didn't have any Proscar. Could this be the cause? Should I worry? I try and and wash no more than twice a week at most, as hair fall out when I do so. I have attached two photos..The close up is of my hair one year post op and the second is one and a half years post second op. Since this time where I great density, it's gone downhill!! Any ideas? How long do the shedding phases last? Does three weeks off proscar make a difference? As always, your advice, comments and wisdom and really appreciated. PS: I tried Fincar for a while but it didn't work for me - I ended up with acne! I ended up buying this stuff in 'bulk' (about 15 strips) If anyone wants any for FREE, I can post this to you, if it works for you. I was aiming this at those losing hair who may have not have the money...All I ask is that you make a small donation to any charity of your choice, in your own time.

  5. Hi FS, 'Thanks' for the comments. I don't have time for your idle banter. I am probably going to give a load of my packets for FREE. I am just trying to avoid wastage incase these drugs suit someone. TO ALL: I didn't realise how contraversial this whole thing was. As I said, I was just tryinh to avoid wasting these. I am now using Proscar and I am happier with the results. This is not to say that someone may prefer Fincar!? Anyway, good luck to all with common problem we share.
  6. Dear Sirs, I have had two transplants, one with Dr. May in London and the second a year ago with Dr. Ron Shapiro who is the best Doc there is!! I am more than happy with my results! I use Proscar to help slow down the balding process. On a recent holiay (Dec 2003), I had my parents by me a product called Fincar. This is made by a company called Cipla and is supposed to do the same thing as Proscar and Propecia. It was significantly cheaper than my proscar so they bought about 30 strips of 10 tables of 5 mg each. I am looking to sell the remaining 20 to someone who is happy using this product and has consulted a Dr. I am selling these primarily because I get acne from use, this which I don't from Proscar. Secondly, the expiry date is in Summer 06. I am not a 'dealer' or anything of the sort, just have these as a surplus. Can I stress that you ensure that you are suited to this medication before purchase. I have been going through the pain of hairloss for six years, so know what it's like. SO..make sure you know yourself and what you are taking. Take Care and Happy Follicles! San

  8. Dear Cliff and Michael, Gentleman - thank you ever so much. I used a shampoo called Capusal last night, washed throughly and repeated. This is a coal tar based product like T-Gel and it did indeed help. I did have to frequent the toilets at work today to brush the flakes away, but at least they are drying and flaking off. I'd rather have that than them sticking to the scalp. I have lost a significant number of new hair as expected, and many older hair as the skin peeled and scabs came off. How are you guys coming along? Michael, I had my opp two weeks after you on the 29th of Dec! I have attached a day one photo for you guys! I stayed at the Country Inn and Suites! Take Care and Bless! Sam
  9. Thanks for that! I haven't used Vit E. but I will have a look at that! I also have about 5 small red spots - I am 4 weeks post op. Some of the spots are bleeding. One of the great assistants at Shapiro Medical told me to use a wet towel - and even to lance and clean the puss away. What are your thoughts and experiences??
  10. Dear Friends, I have been reading this site for about two years and finally decided to register. I am 28 and had 850 grafts from Dr May in London - June 2002. I recently followed up with 1947 grafts from Dr. Shapiro on 29th Dec 2003 (About 4 weeks ago). Could I start by saying how FANTASTIC the experience was. Having been to two recognised clinics, the first of which was also great - Shapiro is a true professional, passionate about his work. Thanks Ron and staff! Anyway, I have a question for you guys: I have started shedding hair - both new and old hair - even from my previous transplant. What % do you think will grow back? Secondly, I am peeling like anything. I have a history of dermatitis and dandruff. However, This is proper peeling! What do you suggest I use for this? I am using stuff like Head and Shoulders and Nizoral. I am thinking that perhaps I am not hard enough on my scalp, to paranoid about losing more hair?! Thoughts and suggestions would really be appreciated. BTW - If anyone want objective advice on Dr. May - Wimpole or Shapiro, feel free to contact me! Cheers!!
