  1. Thanks Melvin! Thanks for keeping this forum going with high quality posts. I know you have to deal with some BS drama sometimes, but this forum is incredibly valuable for those researching hair transplants (like my former self).
  2. Alright boyos, here's the final 12 month update. Overall I'm happy with the recipient area. Donor is still thin, but looks better with a bit of additional length. If I were to do it again, I would ask to have the donor grafts taken from throughout the donor, rather than just the right side--but whatever. I probably won't check this site very often now, at least not until I "need" another HT--but will try to login in occasionally to encourage other members and respond to any questions. Best of luck everyone! OH (harsh) OH 2 (harsh) Front (harsh) Right/Donor (Harsh) Left (Harsh) Back (harsh) OH (soft lighting) Right/donor (soft lighting) Left (soft lighting) Back (soft lighting)
  3. That's awesome! Happy to chat with him via PM if that's helpful for him. I've tried to keep (most) all questions in this thread to help it be a comprehensive resource for people getting a Diep FUE (similar to your thread), but happy to answer any one-off questions he might have.
  4. Just had a date with a total babe (like wifey material) but she sat on my bad side, so hoping that doesn't sink me for a second date. Feeling like Costanza
  5. Btw, one of my buddies is getting a HT and after seeing my results decided against Dr diep, because of the extraction style. Going with Dr Alexander instead. Definitely agree that the state of the donor matters, just trying to find the most flattering style at this point to camouflage a bit.
  6. For those curious what a low taper fade looks like, see pic below. Only thing i'd be worried about would be scarring showing with the hair that short. That being said, scarring on fair skin is probably less noticeable than a thin spot contrasted against dark hair--so perhaps the better of two evils 😈
  7. I'm assuming that chances the donor improves post 10 months is relatively slim, right?
  8. Dang, appreciate you compiling this side by side. Didn't realize how good the results were until looking at this. Obviously would be nice to have an untouched looking donor. I've noticed with a little more length it looks better, so maybe I'll start cutting to a 6 or 7 rather than a 4 (which I did about a week before these pics).
  9. 10 month update boyos! Overall i'm very happy with the results Only thing that would've made it better would've been a less thin donor on my right side (i.e., the side of the extractions). Is what it is though at this point... OH (harsh) Front (harsh) Right donor (harsh) Left donor--no extractions (harsh)
  10. Gents, See 9 month pics. All pics are with dry hair and without minoxidil foam applied. OH (harsh) Front (Harsh) Left (Harsh) Right (Harsh) Back (Harsh) OH 2 (Harsh) OH (Soft) Right (Soft) Left (Soft) Back (Soft) Front (Soft)
  11. Anyone have any conditioner recommendations? I was looking at the below but my post op instructions say no oil for 12 months post op. Biotin Hair Growth Conditioner for Hair Loss Natural Thickening Volume Conditioner for Fine Hair Volumizing Deep Treatment for Thinning Color Treated Hair Sulfate Free with Castor Oil for Woman & Men https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DZJN6NZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_J58JDbK3702HG
  12. 8 month update Feels like i've been shedding a lot recently, but that might be in my head. Overall, happy with recipient. Hoping for a bit more regrowth in donor (right side). Overhead Overhead 2 Frontal Donor (right) Donor (back) Donor (left)
  13. I thought i responded on this a few weeks ago but didn't go through? My understanding is that regenepure reduces DHT in the scalp as well as some of the irritation that accompanies elevated DHT levels. The effect is much smaller than Fin, but at the very least it seems like a high quality shampoo.
  14. I hear ya on Dut. Got a little panicky given that these surgeries are quite a big investment of time and money. Trying to delay another surgery as long as possible but not at the expense of having a family one day. Thanks for your input.
  15. Had a decent shed the last few days. I've never been a big shedder but this has been noticeable, not really sure what caused it. Head's also been a bit itchy too so i'm thinking of adding back regenepure as i've been sticking to baby shampoo post op. Had me thinking about 2 questions: 1. For those of you that have wife/kids, how do you get them on board with you getting surgery? Seems like a hard sell for an expensive procedure that's strictly cosmetic, especially when kids are involved since they're so damn expensive. Just thinking for potential future procedures. 2. Anyone have any experience switching from Fin to Dut? Or just adding Dut on top of a Fin routine? Any benefit to this, or will Fin more or less do the same thing on its own?
  16. Ha, hard to believe you're jealous with the mop you have! Your thread was a huge inspiration to me, and i'm sure countless others. I read and reread it multiple times both prior to and after my surgery. Hopefully my thead helps people like yours helped me!
  17. 78% dense JK. I look at it more qualitatively. Overall i don't feel like a balding guy anymore and don't feel like people view me that way either. It's not the best head of hair, but it gets the job done and gets me out of the balding camp, IMO, which was the goal. I feel that i look the best i have since i was late teens/early 20s. Also, I don't ever use concealer anymore which is huge--as i really hated using that shit.
  18. Hell yeah! This looks awesome. Gonna give it a watch this weekend.
  19. Gents--here is the 7 month update. Overall I'm over the moon with the results. Confidence is at an all-time high. Dating has been great, social life in general awesome, work superb. Can't believe the difference in life quality. OH (harsh) Front (harsh) Right (donor) Left (donor) Donor (back) OH 2 (harsh) OH (soft lighting)
  20. I love Tony Robbins! He's got a lot of good stuff. I think "self help" gets a bad name and view it more as self development. Social skills IMO are just like any other skill. Consistent practice leads to improvements. The stuff I've learned recently is by no means groundbreaking, but by focusing on being more playful, better story teller, smiling more, etc. I've noticed a big difference in my day-to-day interactions. PS--thanks for the style guide! I've been lettin' bands go at the mall recently so probably need to pull back a bit (then agian i just spent $15K on hair lol)
  21. Yeah dude those first months are really tough, but you're through the worst part. I'd suggest setting a 3 month goal for your lifting routine and focusing all that extra energy on making your goal. Then in 3 months you'll have nice hair and be ripped 💪🏻
  22. Well, if that's half as fun as the original version then count me in!
  23. @Melvin-Moderator I really like that 2nd shirt. I need more shirts like that since I only have polos and dress shirts for work and tees for home. Need an in-between for social events. Might buy some better casual shoes too as the Nike running shoes aren't cutting it, but can't wear my work shoes with shorts. Maybe some Vans or something. Alright boys, off to the mall--wish me luck!
