Do you mean shaved in the side? That is just the hairstyle. I shave a bit in the front too so it is lined up and less of a widows peak. I do have pics of the donor area as well, see attached.

Hey guys, Here are my 8 month 1 week pics. Things getting a lot better and thickening up, definitely much more confident! Left side of my hairline there is a "gap" and doesn't look full at this time, which is my only concern at this moment. Here are some pics in the studio, and after a haircut Let me know your thoughts and questions!

Awesome advice from all! I really appreciate it. After getting a haircut I can confirm it is looking better, I think it was just a bad hair day that spooked me when I saw the pictures. Onwards with the process! I will post updates fairly soon.

Here is another update at the 6 month 1 week mark. Have some serious hat hair in the first 3 so I took 3 more by myself with it styled. It actually feels worse - maybe I just need a haircut, but also just went through a stressful time in my life and wonder if this contributed. Or maybe the combing of the hair... I notice quite a bit more hair falling out in the shower than usual. My initial concern of the "space" just behind the transplanted hair or just behind the front of the hairline makes me feel like I wish more was put in there...especially just behind the front/right of my hairline. I have included some pictures with it styled, but it feels like I am just covering up the bad spots with my current style. Can anybody relate to this? Hoping for a big improvement this next month

Sorry about the delay! I am going into Hasson and Wong for pictures pretty soon, so should have some good quality picture updates consistent to earlier. Things are progressing extremely well though! Getting denser by the week, still a few holes in the hairline so hoping sprouting/thickening will continue. This month has been much more fun though I've attached a pic at the 5 month mark under harsh bathroom lighting and antother one a week later in an office with normal / semi dim lighting.

Attached are my 4 month pics! Well actually 5 days short of 4 months. There is some big time progress. The pics were after my first haircut at my old barbershop since my operation. My hair has grown to where I can style it and I feel it is getting significantly better week by week. I included some pics under bright lights in my bathroom and also in natural light. As always - questions/comments of any nature are very much appreciated.

It is nice having someone to follow who is slightly ahead of you with a similar HT so you can ask questions and see what you have to look forward to! You are in the worst part of it all so stay positive, I think 30-40 days is ground zero. You are welcome to reach out if you'd like.

Well, I think I am nearly out of this ugly duckling phase, exciting stuff! Based on the progress from 2-3 months, I am hoping this will pop this next month. Shockloss has got a lot better thank goodness and I am getting closer to not wearing a hat! Candid questions/comments are always appreciated.

Hey man! Congrats on your procedure I kind of hibernated and didn't go anywhere in public pretty well until the 10-14 day mark, just took it easy. I did wear a hat (that the clinic provided) to go to the clinic to get my washes done every day for the first week, but I put it on very loosely and carefully (front brim on forehead first and then slide the back on), and took it off in reverse order. After 10 days, the grafts are firmly in place and you should be able to wear a hat no problem, but if it were me I would just be cautious still with it the hat rubbing against the transplanted area. Once I moved to my normals hats it was mostly higher brimmed baseball hats that barely touched my scalp. When you are in private take it off though so it can breath.

Thanks Ernie! I agree that you looked much better after you buzzed it at 3 months. I am fairly certain I am going to do the same at my 3 month mark (March 19). I know it will set me back from my ideal result - but to be honest due to a few social events I need to look better now and will not be able to use toppik. Quick update - I have not had any pimples for the past week or so (not sure if this is a good or bad thing). Here are some updated pics from when I cut the sides. I have taken pics before cutting and after with my hair wet/dry. Would love to hear comments/feedback as I know this is one of the toughest period of the recovery process!

Thanks for the advice N0Air! I agree, the part that I would want to trim more is native hair on top just so it makes the discrepancy between the transplanted area not so severe. It is just a matter of being able to stick it out with a hat. The hardest part I have found with this is essentially with dating. Hope the move went well and you are enjoying your lettuce :cool:

I am thinking about giving myself a haircut to even out the top. I would love to hear your opinion! HTsoon I remember was against it because essentially the more you cut now the longer the wait to enjoy the hair Ernie was a big advocate of doing a number 3 all over so that there isn't as big of a discrepancy between the native hair and transplanted front 1/3. I am at the 2.5 month mark and sick of wearing a hat constantly but no pain no gain right :cool:

Here is a 2 month update. Things are improving, hardest part is making excuses to why I am wearing a hat all the time. My questions: 1. In your experience - is it better to pop pimples or leave them in the recipient area? 2. You can see the gaps in my hair on the sides at the donor area. Do you know if this recovers more? I didn't feel like I had my hair too short on the sides (about a 2 - 2.5 clipper). Not too big of a deal but noticeable to me in light.

Agree with Windjammer! Getting the compliments must be reassuring why you spent the $$$ and time on this. Congrats man, looking really good. I thought I'd give a mid month update on my transplant. Some main points at this stage: -I am using toppik when I need to but only underneath a hat still (let me know if you want to see pics with it applied). -I am back to using my regular shampoo prior to surgery -Rogaine seems to be speeding up growth on native hair in transplanted area -shockloss is bad but seems to be improving -I am getting 1-2 pimples per day that subside in 1-2 days. A positive sign! -Shedding phase is completely over Here are some pics of me before surgery, day of surgery, a couple days after, 1 week, 2.5 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month (my worst) and 1.5 months I am starting to get excited as it seems like it will be all progress from here. Any comments (negative or positive) and questions are welcomed!

Thanks Rev! The waiting game is definitely on and as advertised, it will continue to be challenging. I would say 80% of the grafts came out. After my wash at the 1 month mark at Hasson & Wong clinic they rubbed vigorously and a ton came out! I will post updated pics soon

Hey Mosd, I agree! I have never buzzed my head so the growth back on top has been "shocking" to say the least My native hair looks a lot worse, have you heard of scenarios where shock loss also gets to areas on top of the head where nothing was transplanted? I will post some updated pics soon for the 1.5 month mark.

I have attached some one month pics. Went through a huge shed right around the 3-5 week mark. I got a wash done at the clinic, and have attached some pics prior the wash and after the wash as they rubbed out a lot of the transplanted hair. All thoughts/comments/advice/questions are much appreciated!
