  1. That fades over time. I never really seem someone satisfied with doing it unless they have a shaved head. I would rather have the real hair as long as I have the hair to do it.
  2. Lights affects the look so hard to paint a perfect picture. I agree it’s not terrible but every time I went down the crown was never the primary. This time I would just going down for crown. I was thinking only 1000-1200 grafts. Just wondering if I have the donor left to do it.
  3. https://imgur.com/a/imBRNKy Like I said out of the 3 times I went 2 of the times the crown was touched along with the front. It’s not terrible but more noticeable when wet.
  4. Need advice. How many grafts do I have left? I am very happy with my hair but even after my 3 hair transplant my crown was never perfect. I have had two passes on the crown not sure how many grafts because I used many for the front to mid scalp. I have been pretty stable in my hairloss for the last few years using Rogaine but when you turn 50 it’s almost like a clock. No matter what you do Mother Nature takes its course. Honestly at this point I don’t know what’s translated and what’s not I have had soo much hair moved. I am going back for a small crown touch up. what do you think I have left in my donor? Yes it’s a little thin but I have it buzzed down do a #4 guard. let me know your thoughts? https://imgur.com/a/i1IRF6N
  5. I have not been following for a while. Congratulations Melvin!! You went from zero to hero! But seriously, that is going to turn out fantastic!! I wish I had your hair type because it’s thick compared to a guy with light hair. Your donor looks really good for that many grafts.
  6. I would have love to get all my grafts in 2 procedures. Dr. Nader in the past always favored no more than 3k grafts per session and even preferably 2k grafts. ( he absolutely will do more in some cases. I am just saying what he prefers)For obviously reasons. One there’s a time factor, the second getting the graphs back in the scalp quicker is always going to be more beneficial. I know he uses a good solution to store the grafts. But it’s also a case of blood supply. There’s more risk for the doctor when you make that many incisions to the scalp. Remember each graft placed back into the scalp is fighting for the blood supply in that area and could end up that some graphs don’t survive because too many graphs were placed at one given time. For this reason I was OK with breaking up my procedures if it meant getting the best outcome. That’s why some of these outfits that do 5000 grafts per session can have really great results and then really bad results It just depends on the individual and how their scalp responds. People are Very quick to blame the doctor when things don’t go well but because of fierce competition in the industry doctors want to give patients what they want and hope for the best. https://imgur.com/a/U6Ff9EH
  7. One more lie in the industry, “it not noticeable to most people”. Let me explain something. If you can notice, someone else can notice. It’s that simple. When you are losing your hair or maybe you have a full head of hair. You are constantly comparing yourself to someone else. People constantly look at other peoples hair and hairline when talking to each other. It’s just subtle but I am sure you do to. We are all vainly people. 😂
  8. You can browse through my post. I don’t believe he followed that line closely. My hairline looks so good I myself can’t tell where the old hairline use to be. Even after a buzz cut the blend is so natural and dense. Props to the Doc! One of the reasons I went FUE. Although many fut procedures turn out good I can almost always tell because it’s a double edge sword pulling out hair from the center line of your head. Thick stalky grafts even single ones seem out of place and unnatural. But I guess that also depends on hair type, color and other factors. Just speaking in general. Sometimes I try and convince my self I was never losing my hair. Lol , if you get anything done no matter fue or fut and can’t figure out the old and new you had one hell of a doctor even if you need 2-3 procedures. Rome wasn’t built in a day!😀
  9. You know I never considered that🤔 Now that you say that my Doctor actually did the extraction , took a lunch break. After , he made so many incisions at a time then placed the grafts with the pen tool, then he would do another area of incisions and repeat. I think at the very end when they had a few grafts left they looked for areas to fill and used forceps. All I know is I can’t say for certain but if I look at pictures on the 10 day mark after and a year later shave my head it looks like most everything grew. That I can honestly say without a doubt. I would be the first one to say it if I thought I had poor growth.
  10. Melvin you’re absolutely right about lights. I kind felt similar at one time. Actually the other day I was at LensCrafters looking at some sunglasses. They had like 3-4 spot lights shining down right under where I was standing when I got real close to the mirror. 😳I almost felt like I could start counting because my hair was kinda back and you could see the roots. Most people posting pictures in harsh light on here are really not in that harsh of a light or are at just the right angle that it still looks good. And even in the harshest of light it makes a world of difference if the light is in front of you, behind you or directly above you and that goes also for outside. I appreciate the honesty and this should make other people feel a little bit at ease with their results. That being said you could easily do another 1200-1500 grafts spread out in the front going back. Looks like the very back of your donor is still thick enough. Just do it, you won’t regret it!
  11. Great results, but keep in mind it looks like he shaved the center of his head for some reason. Maybe for a more dramatic results.
  12. I have seen the diffuse look naturally on people. Most people don’t have a perfect hairline with a diffuse look, although a few exceptions like some women lose hair that way. I am speaking in general and absolutely the people I saw had some work done. Either way your right so many variables. But just look on this forum alone very few people are one and done and even if it’s just the hairline that was done. Most people realize that you could use up 3k grafts just in the very front! But again variables matter, I guess my only point was I see many complaints on YouTube or forums when in reality grafts per sq cm ultimately is the best predictor of outcome and when most people don’t know or even ask what they had done is just mind boggling to me because that can help determine what happens positive or negative.
  13. I would agree. Just a guide, give or take.
  14. Also understand usually you want a heavier graft count in front that tappers off going backwards. This way you have enough donor hair. 😉
  15. from my own experience I find this picture to be somewhat accurate for natural density. Often time people getting transplants with 1500-2000 grafts expect great results. While initially you feel great on your new hairline often times people start seeing themselves in different light situations and see a almost unnatural reality of hair transplants. Unless you get a surgeon who right out of the gate does over 60-70 grafts per sq cm I feel unless you really have thick coarse hair most people will fall short of a natural look. Even if I never had surgery done there has been a few occasions in life where I noticed a unnatural look about someone just by looking at them. One guy I happened to be in a group conversation at a party with, ( now we’re both standing under those basically drop ceiling light panels ) right away I noticed a unnatural look about this guys hair. I don’t want to say it looked liked plugs because it didn’t but the lack of density ( I am guessing maybe 40 grafts per sq cm) just looked a little stalky to me. I have seen another few similar people in my passings. Point is don’t expect miracles on one pass and look at this diagram closely. I think you will find for most people this chart to be true. I never bought into fut is soo much better and better results. I think it all depends on the doctor. And I have yet seen a case where a one pass fut blew my mind. Anyone can cherry pick a bad fue or just poor growth. I think grafts matter along with hair quality. What’s you guys thinking on this?
  16. I have had good luck with Dr. Nader. I have two friends that went there with excellent results also. You and I have a similar hair type. Good luck!!
  17. That’s crazy that’s 80 grafts per sq cm! It doesn’t look it. But I guess it is. If they all grew with in that 10 day mark you will be fine. One of the things that I had with my surgeon was he was conservative for the same reason of blood supply. It was a pain to keep going back for perfection but glad I did. I will say i had a few friends that went a few years after me and he did up the grafts per sq cm on the first pass with them with excellent results. There’s nothing more rewarding than being able to buzz your hair down and not being able to detect the outline of where you were bald before. Lol Looking forward for updates. It should be a good result!
  18. Was looking back at some pictures and I am amazed at the tight packing that was done. The picture here shows the outline of my receded hairline. That huge space was completely bald before. This was on my 3rd transplant where I added density in front and crown.
  19. I would agree. You would think with all the work he had done in the front it would be more dense.
  20. Everyone is different but I had bad shockloss after all my procedures even the previous transplanted hair! Although another guy that went to the same doctor had none. So prepare for it, and if it doesn’t happen consider yourself lucky! Good luck!!
  21. Started growing it out again from buzz cut in February . Almost 2years since last procedure and growing strong 💪. I remember in the beginning the doctor was not sure about the hairline because I wanted it more aggressive than he originally had drawn out. I am so glad I was able to get away with this. It looks so natural that even I myself forget sometimes I had anything done. 😂 https://imgur.com/a/dPkNKHs
