  1. Realistically, what do people expect clinics to say about sub-par results that they don't already know? It's usually the same response - not every procedure will be a success etc. There isn't much more they can say. A clinic isn't going to say that their standards have slipped. If users are creating multiple accounts, it should be possible to ban their IP addresses from creating new accounts.
  2. You divided the numbers the wrong way. It's roughly $0.42 per graft. Math: £1300 for 4000 grafts = £0.325 per graft All hair transplants come with some risk. The question is how much risk you want to trade off for price. I wouldn't have any procedure with a clinic if I couldn't see consistently good independent reviews. There are doctors in Turkey who perform relatively cheap HT's that have some good reviews on this forums, like Dr Demirsoy and Dr Resul Yaman ( €1.25 - €1.50 per graft).
  3. That's a remarkable result for just 2295 grafts. Congrats.
  4. And sometimes results decline as doctors begin to rely more on techs - the Doganay Effect.
  5. Since Dr Yaman is recommended by this site, he should be required to provide an explanation for that donor area. When users post negative reviews about recommended doctors, moderators are quick to request additional evidence - with the threat of the topic being archived if they don't provide it. Recommended doctors should be held to the same standard. If they don't provide explanations for cases like this, then they shouldn't be recommended. Just to add - that should be based on recent results posted by patients, not results from years ago when Yaman was more involved with the procedure.
  6. Do you have any more photos you can post? I was considering Yaman for a HT at one point, but there's a worrying increase in threads about his poor results.
  7. Dr Yaman's recent poor results remind me of what happened with Doganay a while back. After posting consistently good results for a few years, both started to rely more on technicians as their popularity increased - patient outcomes deteriorated as a result. Doctors will always have individual cases where the outcomes fail to meet expectations, but the issue is when that becomes a pattern that correlates with the doctors reducing their role in the procedure. There's also been an increase in suspicious threads where people who've posted bad results following HT's with Yaman suddenly want their threads deleted - this is happening on other HT forums too.
  8. What role did he have in the procedure? Did technicians do all or most of the work? There are multiple reports on other sites that claim Arenamed is a technician mill that overstates the amount of grafts they implant, and that Serkan Aydin is not a medical doctor.
  9. All flights from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport have been cancelled, a Reuters witness said on Friday, citing a pilot, after the military said it had taken control of the government.
  10. Bad news for anyone travelling for a ht: Turkey coup: military attempt to seize power from Erdogan as low flying jets and gunfire heard in Ankara and bridges across Bosphorus in Istanbul closed
  11. 5200 grafts for 3800 Euro - is that correct? I thought he charged €1 per graft.
  12. Judging buy the price, Aestimed appears to be a technician clinic. The doctors only real involvement is drawing the hairline and deciding how may grafts are required, technicians perform most of the procedure itself Those type of clinics aren't really recommended hereby most users, but if you want to go down that road,Cosmedica is also a well known Turkish clinics.
  13. Here's Dr Yamans reply on a previous thread - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181878-hair-transplant-dr-resul-yaman-3400-grafts-post2472563.html#post2472563
  14. You'll be fine, you're in good hands
  15. 1-3: Yes The reason people often continue to take finasteride after a ht is because it helps prevent the rest of the original hair from miniaturizing.
  16. Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients - Search Forums Type Yaman into the search field at the url above. Directly under the search field, select 'search titles only', then scroll down and click 'search now'. You'll find multiple reports and results threads.
  17. The way I'd analyse it is, how much risk is there? If technicians perform most of the work, how do you know which technicians will be working on you, or which technicians worked on the results photos you've seen? You don't. I'd consider that high risk. Plus, if a clinic can work on up to 10 patients a day, they should be able to pick out a few good results from something that high volume. *** If the doctor performs extractions themselves, creates recipient incisions themselves, has a solid portfolio of results photos & independent online reviews, and you know the same doctor will be working on you - I'd consider that a lower risk. A transplant from a technician clinic might initially be be lower priced, but what if you end up with doll hair, poor growth, you've wasted a few thousand grafts from the donor area, and you need another ht to fix it? Ultimately, you have to decide how much risk you want to take vs your budget. It looks like Cosmedica may have used fake/sock puppet accounts on this site before - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181094-dr-cinik-4000-grafts-cosmedica-clinic.html
  18. Price | Cosmedica It's another technician mill. If you see a fixed price of 1500-2000 Euros, regardless of the number of grafts required, it's almost always a bad sign. The only way a price can be that low is if technicians do most of the work. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/180289-dr-acar-cosmedica.html#post2439345
  19. If you stop taking finasteride, the other non transplanted hairs may continue to miniaturize - you'll gradually lose some of it. For the best result, you should try to keep the existing hair by taking fin, in addition to getting a ht.
  20. That works out to be just under €0.34 per graft. When you say that the doctor is Yasemin Turgut, how involved in actual the procedure is she? If the price is this low, it sounds like it's a technician mill where the doctor only draws the hairline and decides how many hairs need to be transplanted - technicians do almost everything else. It's like an assembly line. Here are 2 video on technician mills in Turkey: There are other low cost doctors in Turkey like Dr Resul Yaman (€1 per graft),Dr Demirsoy (€1.25 per graft), Dr Erdogan (€2.5 per graft) that are all reputable. If you decide to go with this company, you should ask what role the Doctor has in extractions and creating recipient incisions. This is the only info I can find on her from another company - http://longevita.co.uk/staff/trichologist-yasemin-turgut/ Are there examples of her work available to view online?
  21. Yup. Most stuff is overpriced here, plus the lack of competition from other fue doctors doesn't help - it makes sense to travel abroad. Did you pay a % deposit up front, then the rest in cash?
  22. Cheers for the info. It's definitely a more tempting prospect than going to Blackrock for 10 quid a graft.
  23. Looks great so far leindub. How soon after contacting Yaman were you able to schedule the procedure - was there much of a waiting list/period?
