  2. #BeforeAndAfterMondays Nine months after attempting a series of 2 treatments to fill in her hairline recessions, this 45-year-old woman underwent a follicular unit transplantation FUT session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 1882 grafts were placed Her hair follicles were incubated in autologous (her own) platelet rich plasma PRP throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. As with all of Dr. Wesley’s patients, she was NOT required to shave her hair for the procedure. As a result, this patient was able to return comfortably to work and social activities within approximately 7-10 days of his procedure. The patient returned 6 months after her surgical procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.
  3. Hi, jj51702. The trials are not currently open. Development regarding the mechanics of this novel harvesting process rains ongoing. While heh continues to research improved strategies for treating hair loss, it is not a coincidence that Dr. Wesley's attention to this particular divide during non-office hours have shifted towards family care since the birth of his son. Thank you and have a pleasant day 🙂
  4. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This patient underwent a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2600 grafts were placed His hair follicles were incubated in autologous (his own) platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. Rather than a larger FUE punch used by a robotic approach, Dr. Wesley used a smaller caliber hand-held motorized punch to performed the donor harvest. This approach better enabled the capture of donor hair roots that are slightly curved beneath the skin surface. Upon completion of the harvest, the patient’s donor area was treated with PRP and ACell in order to not only minimize scar tissue formation, but also encourage partial regeneration of donor hair follicles. The patient returned one year after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.
  5. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This patient underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2516 grafts were placed The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs. As with all of Dr. Wesley’s patients, he was NOT required to cut his hair for the procedure. As a result, this patient was able to return comfortably to work and social activities within approximately 7-10 days of his procedure. The patient returned one year after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.
  6. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This patient underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2290 grafts were placed The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure.
  7. #BeforeAndAfterMondays Today’s #BAM is inspired by the #10yearchallenge that has taken social media by storm! This patient underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 1927 grafts were placed The patient returned 10 Years after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.
  8. #BeforeAndAfterMondays This patient underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 1723 grafts were placed Her hair follicles were incubated in autologous (her own) platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. The patient returned one year after her procedure and images of the patient can be seen below. This link illustrates the timing of hair growth after surgery. Similar patient hair transformations with Dr. Wesley and his team may also be viewed.
  9. #BeforeAndAfterMondays Since the age of 19, this woman had suffered from an aggressive form of folliculitis decalvans that was misdiagnosed. Feeling self conscious each time she swam or the wind blew, the cosmetic impact of this scalp condition had a significant impact on her life. Finally, 15 years later, she had a scalp biopsy confirming this form of scarring alopecia. Although it had stabilized, hair would not grow back on its own... She underwent a follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2033 grafts were placed. Her hair follicles were incubated in autologous (her own) platelet rich plasma (PRP) throughout the duration of the procedure. The patient returned one year after her procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.
  10. #BeforeAndMondays T'was quite a year in the office of Dr. Carlos K. Wesley! Both men and women saw continued improvement in growth from both follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedures due to our optimized method of harvest and graft storage. Non-surgical treatments also abounded with increasingly positive results from platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatments. For interested patients, Dr. Wesley previously delivered an in-depth lecture on PRP scalp treatmentfor genetic hair loss detailing all aspects of this procedure.
  11. #BeforeAndAfterMondays While it cannot be assumed that all patients will develop a fuller hairline without a surgical intervention or without taking oral medication, this male patient benefitted from a non-surgical approach. In addition to undergoing Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP/ACell) treatments with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley, he also used a topical finasteride blend each night. The high percentage and broad distribution of miniaturized hairs throughout his hairline made him a good candidate for this approach. With this non-surgical approach to treating hair loss, he was able to reverse the biologic course of the thousands of miniaturized follicles atop his head and generate more hair fullness. Dr. Wesley previously delivered an in-depth lecture on PRP scalp treatment for genetic hair loss detailing all aspects of this procedure. The benefits and limitations of PRP procedures are described in this video for all interested patients who would like to learn more about this novel therapy. The patient returned 6 months after his PRP treatment series and images of the patient can be seen below.
  12. #BAM Better late than never #BeforeAndAfterMondays!! This patient underwent a follicular unit transplantation FUT session with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley in which a total of 2645 grafts were placed. The pattern design was conservative to account for the patient’s relatively young age. The patient’s hair follicles were incubated in platelet rich plasma PRP throughout the duration of the procedure. The patient returned 12 months after his procedure and images of the patient can be seen below.
