  1. Yep, me too. Aged 10 years in under a week on Minox. Quit it 2 days ago and getting back to normal. NEVER going back to it.
  2. 1) There were people that were dismissing the vile side effects about Propecia....until of course the class action lawsuits started pouring in. 2) My testosterone levels are above average. 3) After 2 days off of Minox I am back to normal (as many here have stated). 4) There have been MANY FDA drugs used by BILLIONS of people in the world (some for over 30 years) that have been now banned as dangerous. 5) Get a clue.
  3. Let us know when you wake up from your stupor of denial.... UNDISCLOSED MECHANISM:
  4. Here's another short list of 35 FDA drugs that were used for decades before being deemed dangerous to the public and yanked: 35 FDA-Approved Prescription Drugs Later Pulled from the Market - Prescription Drug Ads - ProCon.org
  5. That's exactly what they said about Propecia:
  6. Indeed, ignorant people who choose to omit empirical evidence.
  7. Supposedly ridiculous to you - quite serious for others. Does not detract from the fact that they are real.
  8. How does Ibuprofen affect libido? Or a long list of other meds?
  9. Since when is it a prerequisite that a medication needs to lower DHT levels to affect libido...
  10. I'm sure the same question was asked initially about finasteride on forums such as this.
  11. This post is for both the folks on here who have or are experiencing the side effects of Minoxidil 5% (both the foam and the liquid form) as well as a heads up on those who doubt the veracity of the testimonies from those who are. PREFACE: I had been wearing a hairpiece for 4 years now (had thinning hair on top but otherwise have a full set of hair) and this past winter I got lazy and had not put on my hairpiece for about 3 weeks opting instead to wear a hat during the winter months when I went out. 3 weeks turned into 5+ weeks and my hair on top started to grow. Call it curiosity but I decided to let it grow back just to see what if felt like to have my own hair. Enter Minoxidil. In an effort to maximize my hair growth on top I purchased Rogaine 5% foam as it was the only option I had at the time (bought at Walmart). I read the instructions as well as the listed potential side effects as well as watched a plethora of videos on YT and started applying twice a day to the areas on the top part of my head that were thinner than the others. Enter the side effects: ENTER SIDE EFFECT #1: While I was on the lookout for any of the LISTED side effects such as redness of the scalp etc (never happened) I noticed my eyes were swollen as if I had been in a boxing rink for a few rounds with Mohammed Ali, the bags under my eyes were big enough to pack for a 2 week holiday, and I looked very haggard - so much so that now I started wearing sunglasses to go out in addition to wearing a hat. I eat well, sleep well and take vitamins religiously as well as regular exercise. Did a Google search and noticed that I was not alone in this side-effect with Rogaine 5%. I then opted to use the 5% Minoxidil LIQUID as it was easier to titrate vs the 1/2 capful Rogaine foam and only applied the 5% liquid once a day vs two. The swollen eyes, eye bags, etc. improved marginally (10%) but that can be partly attributed to the under eye serums and eye creams I began to use in an effort to help curtail the swelling. ENTER SIDE EFFECT #2: Sudden weight gain/water retention. My 34" pants were now getting quite tight and I also noticed my hands/fingers had swollen to the point I couldn't get my rings off. No change in my eating/exercise sleeping habits during this time. ENTER SIDE EFFECT #3: Started noticing persistent headaches. I RARELY (if ever) have headaches. ENTER SIDE EFFECT #4: Mood changes: This one is hard to describe -suffice to say I didn't feel like my usual jovial self. Felt "different". No other external factors could be attributed to this. ENTER SIDE EFFECT #5: Loss of libido - my tool felt like it was iced. Gone were the rock hard erections and the interest in sex I enjoyed previous to Minoxidil. Even with sexual supplements like Damiana, Horny Goat Weed, Ginseng and Maca they did nothing as they had before. CONCLUSION: This is my first day off Minoxidl after having only been on it for 3 weeks. Ain't EVER going to use it again. REMARKS: The LISTED side effects given by the manufacturer are those that were noted back in 2006 when the studies were done on a LIMITED numbers of people that participated in the clinical trials. Today, 10 years later, there are MILLIONS of men and women who have tried Minoxidil some of whom are experiencing the above side effects (and possibly other side effects) that were NOT observed in the initial clinical trials. FDA approval isn't worth the paper its printed on. MANY FDA medications that were originally approved now have class action law suits against the pharma companies that produced them. BUYER BEWARE!
