I went to Dr. Feriduni several years ago. I actually didn't visit any other clinics but I did a thorough investigation online. He was very patient and did a careful screening of my scalp and hair condition. He suggested to use finasteride tablets first to see where hair might grow back and then define the target areas for transplants. The finasteride was so effective that until now I still don't feel the need to get it done. However, if I ever decide to quit finasteride or if its effects starts to diminish then I will go back to his clinic for a FUE without a doubt. He was very professional. This was in 2011 so that's quite some time ago. But I think around 2-4 weeks. I guess similar to the first time I had shedding. I switched to Proscar. I remember that with the second shedding I lost most gains that I achieved with the 6 months 1mg capsules. Don't keep switching brands. I think it's important for your health (and to achieve a long-term steady max. result) that you keep the testosterone and DHT in your body at a constant level. I'm not a doctor, but I have been using finasteride with success for 6 years I think after 1-1.5 years using finasteride (6 months capsules, the rest Proscar) I reached my max. and I have kept it that way until now without any fluctuations in my hair health. Sure, I believe your lifestyle is also important: eat healthy, exercise, try to sleep enough, and no stress. Then you can achieve its max. potential.

Well if you start shedding again, from my experience, it means the new finasteride tablets you are taking are stronger. I guess it also means it has effect otherwise shedding wouldn't occur. I also started shedding a second time after I changed from 1mg capsules provided by hair clinic to 5mg finasteride tablets that I cut into 4 parts. I experienced even more hair regrowth! I'd say no worries!!

I started taking finasteride 6 years ago. I switched from finasteride 1mg capsules (provided by hair clinic) to finasteride 5mg tablets and I started shedding again. Not much later I had even a more dense head of hair. Those 5mg tablets i split into four parts, so I took 1.25mg on average per day. Works like a charm!
