  1. So I have reached the 6 month mark and I think it's fair to say that I'm a gradual grower. I'm really happy with the difference from where I was when I started out but I am lacking in density considering I had 5000 grafts. I'm not concerned though and I truly believe that over the next 6 months it will go from strength to strength.

I can still see new hairs appearing and lots of very thin almost see through hairs which once thickened will have a huge cosmetic difference. The big plus is that during my every day life I am just wearing my hair as it dries after the shower and am not conscious of it. For nights out I have added a little fibre and it looks amazing and I've received many compliments. The way it has framed my face has been the biggest difference.

At the half way mark I am very happy and although I have days where I am a little impatient, I am optimistic to see what the next 6 months bring. If I did need a second touch up session it would be minimal and only to add some density to the hairline. Let's hope I don't need to do that!

Switching to monthly updates from here on as well as I want to try and stop analysing it so much as think that stops me appreciating how far I've come.

I've added lots of photos. The last two are of it blow dried back as someone asked for one of those and the last is how I style it with a little bit of fibre in it. I'm hoping my final result looks something like that! It now takes me 5 minutes to do my hair, not 45 minutes!!

Looks amazing for 6 months and you'll certainly get where you want to be very soon, well done mate! Keep the blow dried back pics coming in the following updates please, cheers

  2. 25 Weeks Post Op

Strangely enough, I seem to have seen some more density in the past week. This could be because I had a much shorter hair cut at the weekend but it has lifted my spirits regardless. I can still see lots of new hairs and some really fine ones so I am feeling very hopeful for the next few months.

I've got to the point where I am not styling my hair and leaving it as it is after washing and colleagues are telling me how thick it is looking. I know I have more density to come but even at this point, it's framed my face so nicely and I look younger and better than I have over the past 10 years.

I should add lots of the new hairs are quite frizzy but have been told they will settle down as they mature.

    6 months next week!

I've put a few different photos at the end so you can see how it looks naturally in different lighting. First two wet, second two damp, third two dry. As you may tell I'm feeling really positive at the minute.

Wow great progress and shorter haircut is certainly making a huge difference. Would you mind doing a pic with dry hairs spiked up or combed back please to give us a better idea of density at this stage?

  3. As promised here is a comparison photo with Month 3,4 and 5. It's only when you look at these that you feel how far you've come. Month 3 is the top photo and Month 5 the bottom.

Frontal region, wet hair and the crown comparison.

Spex hits the nail on the head in his 'Patience post'. You do start to feel like you are having no more growth at this stage but it's just slow and gradual. I'm going to try not to check it every day but it is hard.

Very promising progress and the comparison pics certainly will help calm a lot of people, thanks for it. I think by the end of 7th month you'll be able to style it however you like

  4. Here I am 7.5 months post-op and after a haircut. I'm very happy with the results so far.

One thing I noticed recently is that when washing my hair I see some hairs on my hands in the shower. Maybe 10-20 hairs on average. They seem to be coming from the top, as they are longer than the (freshly short cut) others. Not sure if it's just the hair loss continuing from the non-transplanted area or just broken hairs that will eventually regrow or what.

I'm currently using Molton Brown Thickening shampoo, but I'll soon switch to Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo which is sulfate-free and maybe better overall. Any other recommendations are appreciated :)

Excellent result and keeps getting better

  5. 19 Weeks Post Op

Definitely seen an improvement this week. I was away for a long weekend and as such wasn't checking my hair as often and when I came back the front seems to have thickened up slightly. There is still a difference between the hair line thickness and what was transplanted behind but there are still hairs coming through.

Still a slow process and a lot more hair to come through but am feeling a little more positive now. The outline is there just need more hair and for it to thicken.

Good even growth and progressing well, a lot of people will be very happy to be where you're in 19 weeks. Thanks for the updates, very helpful

  6. Well its my 6 month post surgery anniversary today!

In terms of growth, not sure if there is visually much difference between this month and last. Maybe a little stronger but it's now getting harder to tell. With that said, I certainly feel pretty confident these days. One of my little insecurities was people seeing me first thing in the morning with "bed hair" and normally before I'd leave the bedroom (even if it's just friends or family) I would quickly adjust my hair to cover the receded temples. Then just a few weeks ago my mate stayed over and crashed in my bed and as I woke, I quickly thought about adjusting my hair (out of habit) but then realise I didn't need to worry.

One thing I have noticed is that the new hair kinda has a mind of its own at the moment. It kinda rolls up a little in the front and it's a little frizzy, but i think the frizziness is simply spit ends. I should hopefully be ready to I cut the hair length at the front in the next few weeks so that should help. Also from what I've read on other threads, the hair will soften and sit with the rest of the hair more naturally in the coming months.

Lastly, apologies if the pics aren't super sharp. I had to use the front facing camera as it was too fiddly to do it otherwise. Might try and do some more pics on the weekend, some with wet hair, etc.

Great result for just 6 months.

Seems density look pretty good when u hold hairs back with your hand but a bit see through when left styled (pic 2 vs 1), do you feel the same or is it just me? Hope this improves as hair gets thicker in following months

  7. 4 Month Update

Just a quick post to celebrate my 4 month mark. I've had a small bit of growth but according to Asmed I should see a large amount of the multiple grafts come through over the next two months. It's definitely improving week on week but it's very gradual. I don't seem to have had a wave of sudden growth as others have. I've been in constant contact with Asmed and they assure me all is fine and I am still seeing new hairs coming through so I guess I'm a just a slower grower.

I will say this that mentally this has been the toughest time for me. When you are expecting the hairs to start showing their faces and they don't, it is hard to not become anxious that they never will. It's only this morning when I look back at my 3 months pics that do I see just how many hairs have come through. The dual photo below is the difference month 3 to 4. The others are just a few quick photos from this morning.

Good progress in 4th month, this will be a killer result

  8. 16 Weeks Post Op

It's still coming through but as I keep saying it isn't anything you'd notice on a daily basis. I think my growth is just going to be slow and steady. It's definitely improving week on week and I can still see lots of new hairs coming through. There are still a lot to come through but I still have another 2 and a half months of new growth to come so I'm not worried but am a little impatient.

The crown seems to be improving more quickly than the hairline which is slightly odd as I was led to believe the opposite would be true.

Pictures below. I think one of the hardest challenges is seeing others have almost full growth at 3 months when you are well behind that. But then you see others who experience the majority of growth at the 5 month mark. Welcome any comments advising how people think my growth is getting on. It's 16 weeks, 10 days away from 4 months.

As a side note I have dropped Saw Palmetto from my supplements as I noticed a slight decrease in libido. Only started taking them in January and the past two months I've just felt a little uninterested. I've been off it for a week and am feeling back to my old self. Odd as have been on Finasteride for 13 years with no issues. Maybe it was a bit overkill. Worth mentioning though.

Right on track mate, looks amazing for just 3 months and 20 days. Very few ppl see majority of the growth in 4th month and no worries if you're not one of them. I'm very confident you'll have excellent result by the end of 6th month.

And pls dont change to monthly updates, share the exciting weekly updates with us pls if possible :)

  9. Time flies: sorry I forgot to post an update at 6 months

I'm now almost 7 months after the procedure. Overall between months 5 and 6 I've seen a considerable amount of "thickening", not sure if more hairs popped up or it's just the hair texture changing, but several times when looking in the mirror I was like "wow, when did I get more hair?!".

I haven't had a haircut in 2.5 months so I'm way overdue (as you can see from the pictures), will post some more pics after I get one, which should hopefully be soon :)

In any case, I'm pretty thrilled with the outcome, I can actually go out and not fear the wind anymore , drive with the window rolled down etc...awesomeness! And, as I'm at 7 months, I guess I can look forward to even greater things! ;)

Dude what an excellent result! I'm sure this was one of the best decisions of your life.

  10. Well it's hard to believe, but today is my 5 month post surgery anniversary. Have to say that the last month seems to have gone particularly quick.

Anyway, I was looking at my hair last night and debating again whether there was much of a real difference since last month and it's not until I looked at the pictures that once again realised that it really has changed again quite a bit. While I have been quite confident with how it's looked for well over a months now, it wasn't until my hair cut last weekend that I really personally thought to myself "wow, it actually looks really good".

For the past 2 months, the hair on top and the growth to that point created a good illusion but it's only this past week the new hair is now almost caught up with the rest and now it's really starting to blend in and not be something that I'm covering.

My internal question now is how much more growth do I have? I wonder whether my early growth means I won't possibly have a huge amount more? If I push the hair back to clearly see the hairline, the still is that weak spot in the middle of the front and while it maybe too earlier to be saying such things, I have sort of convinced myself it may never grow in there and I'm ok with that. Of course I'd like some more density but I can say that if it's never grows more than it has today, I would be still be pretty happy.

Anyway, here are the pics I took today. I know Asmed talked about coming to London again this year for consultations and I'm hoping it might be next month as then I could get my 6 months pictures taken properly by then. BTW, last pic is a before and after (after is top picture) buts it's awkward to find an old shot at the same angle but I think you can see how it's better framed my face.

Great result for 5 months and very excited to see your 6 months update soon. Being that said, I'll expect it to get denser in following months
