  1. Well fortunately for me I've been on Propecia, and it's been working, from the age of 18 and I use products in my hair to minimize damage. As for the hairline it is pretty accurate but it's has its thin areas. My goal from the age of 18,which was probably too early of a start, was to maintain a thinning hair look instead of me just going bald then having a drastic change with a HT. As for waiting until you're 25 I think that is your decision based on you having several HT consultations to get a feel for what's right. My dad was completely bald with hair on the sides by the age of 20. I am lucky enough to be thinning with a receding hairline. As my hair continues to thin and my hairline recedes I will have hair placed to maintain my current look. What I wouldn't do again is a strip but that is partly because I scar poorly and partly because the down time compared to FUE is not worth it. Good luck!
  2. I find it kind of difficult to get a good amount of post on any one doctor in particular and wish this was structured a little better. I had my first FUT transplant when I was 18 years old back in 1999. I didn't do much research on my doctor and reviews were not as easily accessible as they are today. I ended up with a decent transplant and slightly wider than average scar do to the placement of the incision being too low. My second transplant I did at the age of 24 so sometime around 2006. This time I thought I'd try a reputable company or one that seemed to be. I chose MHR and they did what I thought was an alright job but my scar was much wider than before so I had them do two scar revisions. After the second leaving me with a scar of about 1cm when a bad scar averages about .4cm I called it quits. Both transplants and scar revisions were painful procedures and I left with blood all over my head. I was counting down the minutes between pain pills and left with scabs all over the back of my head which made suture removal painful as well. Over the years I've had a ton of bad haircuts as a result of my scar and was left wearing a hat for several months at a time until my hair was long enough to cover the scar. This prompted me to look into fixing my scar and adding some density to my hairline. I started looking at places and educating myself around 2011 when I found out more plastic surgeons have now taken on the job. This was a great relief thinking that they should be able to make more precise incisions and have better techniques for suturing to ensure a smaller scar. I never followed through with it. In 2015 I decided to finally do something about it and this is when I met Dr. Lindsey. He is an interesting guy that I could relate to and we share some similar hobbies. This made me feel at ease but in a way uneasy as well. He has a different approach or bedside manner than most doctors but don't let that run you off, he does good work. After my scar revision with Dr. Lindsey in January of 2016 it brought to light all my past mistakes. For one I didn't feel like someone was just ripping away at the back of my head and stuffing grafts in the front. It was a very easy going procedure and I felt at ease. There was no ripping or pulling at the back of my head when he removed my scar or placed the sutures. He talked his way through what was happening so I was aware. Oh and the extra hair/grafts he removed from the scar he placed instead of throwing them away like my last two scar revisions with MHR. 5 days post op, I have no swelling, very few scabs on the grafts and absolutely no scabs, from what I can see, on or near my suture line. This was an eye opener for me and I wish I could say he is some miracle worker but in all honesty I think he just takes pride in his work. I didn't leave all bloody and he cleaned both sites (donor and recipient) before wrapping my head in a clean bandage. Overall a great experience and I would recommend him. I will post pictures in a week or two and then in 6 months once my scar has taken on its true size. Hopefully it will stay small or inside of the .4cm mark!
  3. Any current pictures? I'm considering a procedure with Dr. Lindsey
  4. The density looks good. Did you consult with anyone else in the area? What does your scar look like?
  5. Hey by any chance did you do a consultation with Dr. Lindsey? I'm trying to decide between the two.
