Full disclosure first of all. I am the author of what I believe to be the only ever novel in the history of literature that explores one of the most devastating aspects of the human condition (for both men and women). When I first authored the novel Kindle hadn't even been invented (to my knowledge at least) and it was only ever released in paperback. Needless to say, sales figures were slow, despite the content being relevant to a massive proportion of modern society. Then Kindle changed everything and when NCFB was released as an ebook a few years ago the sales went through the roof, and for a long while I had the dubious distinction of being the number one result for the word "baldness" on Amazon. I ranked pretty high on Google too, especially after USA Today jokingly listed it as one of the five Christmas gifts NOT to give to a man. I've concentrated on my journalism for the last few years and consequently neglected NCFB but I'm happy to report that the rights have recently been acquired by a British film company who want to make the novel into a movie. I am genuinely at a loss to think of one single movie that explores the impact of hair loss so hopefully this movie will be a world first, should it get off the ground. The producer has a decent pedigree and has been nominated for best documentary at Edinburgh and Galway film festivals, so lets hope he can make it happen. I'm in Yorkshire, as is the clinic that I had my Smp done at. They are Beauty Medical trained and accredited too. Indeed I'm still in touch with them and they have a 20% off deal at the moment. I have no affinity to the clinic aside from my experience as a patient. I would love to see the place thrive though as it's rather nice not having to travel to Milan for treatment. I'm happy to meet anyone wanting to see my results but you would have to travel to me. Unless any millionaires in Barbados want to fly me over (first class) to inspect my scalp

Hi, I meant to post earlier after previously posting my SMP results. Since I don't necessarily want to wear my hair at grade zero for the rest of my life I've been experimenting with my hair at various lengths to see what my SMP looks like. I took these photographs at grade one, then let it grow for another week and then another week after that. Here are the results: Personally I think it's just about possible to get away with having your hair at grade one without the SMP looking unrealistic. Anything longer looks a little unnatural but preferable to a slick bald patch (in my opinion). Thanks for viewing, any questions feel free to ask.

Hi Guys, I've just had a top up done in the UK by a company using Beauty Medical equipment. I've attached a before and after image and I'm going to update with an image every month so you can all see how it progresses over time. I've had SMP from one of Milena's affiliates in the UK. I'm exceptionally happy with the result but the scar on my head didn't take the ink very well at all. That said, it's not a FUE scar but one from an accident as a child. Couldn't be happier aside from that though.

Hi guys I started temporary SMP 6 months ago and just had a top up. I'm very happy with the results at the moment and don't even look at the rear of my head in the mirror these days. Any questions about it feel free to ask but here are my experiences so far. Pain levels- were not as high as I'd worried about. The first day was easy for me, but the second was more sensitive. My skin felt a little raw, like sunburn and even looked red too. The look- wasn't as dark as I'd first hoped but once I got used to my hair being at grade 1/2 I became happier with the result. It blended seemlessly and looked natural. I shave my head every week to grade 1/2 (my razor is capable of doing this) as I find grade 0 too short but grade one gives a less natural approach. Like I said, any questions just ask.

I used to buzz my hair to grade one and use Dermatch lightly to take the shine off my crown. It looked okay unless you looked real close to it in a harsh light. Tried fibres too as I still had some velous hair but they didn't work at all. I did away with it all earlier this year and opted for SMP which looks more realistic and stops me worrying about being too close to people when my back is turned to them.

Nice results mate, Kind of similar to my own experience. Have you been using anything to reduce the shine? I must admit that I've stopped thinking about my hair now that I've had SMP done, to such an extent that I may not even bother with top ups. To me it was a great exit strategy from the shackles of dermatch and Toppik. Congrats on the results again
