  1. I had a great experience with Dr. Gabel and would like to share that with others, as promised in my earlier posts. My procedure: FUT with 2607 grafts My experience: I arrived at the Clinic at 6:30 am as instructed on the day of the procedure and was greeted in the lobby by Dr. Gabel and one of his staff members. There was about 30 minutes of pre-op information where he covered step-by-step details of the procedure, and then the procedure started around 7am. Dr. Gabel has a great team of 7-8 professionals that know exactly what to do (special thanks to Karina, Tobi & Aileen for their individualized attention). While I was lying face down, Dr. Gabel started by getting a strip of hair from the back and sides of my head where hair is plentiful. As Dr. Gabel was preparing my scalp for the hair transplantation, his team were busy slivering the strips of hair and then cutting into the individual follicular units for relocation. They were really focused on intense microscopic work which is crucial to place the grafts in a direction and orientation consistent with natural hair growth. Yes I know all this because Dr. Gabel was very open in sharing all that goes into a successful transplant. We took a 45 minutes break for lunch at around 12 pm. After lunch we then moved on to the final stage where Dr. Gabel placed thousands of follicular units in the recipient sites (I was so happy Dr. Gabel was fully involved in the entire case and did most of the work himself!). While the hair was being placed, I found myself relax in a reclining position for most of the day. I was watching DVD’s and listening to music (my choice) throughout the entire procedure. In addition, Dr. Gabel also provided me with an oral sedative so that I felt totally comfortable while he and his team of medical professionals performed their work on me. Finally, the procedure completed at 6 pm. Dr. Gabel did his final examination and told me that the procedure was a success. I left the clinic with detailed instructions and tons of information for aftercare. I am so glad I came to Dr. Gabel for my hair transplant. I would adamantly recommend him to anyone searching for a great, meticulous surgeon.
  2. I received my pre-op phone call from Dr. Gabel’s office, and everything is set for my procedure. I’m going in next week and very excited! I’ll update more about my experience after the procedure.
  3. I started experiencing hair loss in my early 40s and was thinking it was time to do something about it. I was referred to Dr. Gabel 2 years ago by my primary physician, when I first shared my concerns over my hair loss. My doctor suggested I give Dr. Gabel a call, since he was well-known and respected for his work. Time went on and my frustrations grew, and my hair loss got worse. So I eventually picked up the phone and called Dr. Gabels office and a few days later I had my consult. Anna (his patient care person) went over all the procedures offered and answered all my questions (no question seemed to dumb or trivial). Dr. Gabel then came in and spent an hour with me going over MY best options showing me what he would do, as well showing me a large selection of his results. He was super friendly and put me at ease immediately with his compassionate demeanor. I was very impressed with the visit with Dr. Gabel and his team. So when I returned home, I Googled the hell out of him and read every patient review out there, including the Hair Transplant Network forums/reviews of patients, and from reading all the positive experiences (with freaking amazing results) I have chosen him for my hair transplant. I am so glad that people are sharing their experiences on the review sites and forums, it really helped me in my research. Ive scheduled my hair transplant surgery with Dr. Gabel for the 3rd week of August. Ill update my experience after surgery!
