  1. Hello Jeet Thanks a lot for the update. The hair looks great from the front. The crown is bit sparse but growth in crown area can be slow. Lets hope by the 12 month mark it should be filled. Did you try consulting the doctor? What did he say about the growth? Also since meds dont suit you you can probably try having saw pelmetto which is herbal and might help in reducing DHT and further thinning.
  2. Thanks a lot Brenton for the detailed reply. I read your story as well. Pretty interesting and glad to know that you are happy with the results. I also agree that maybe the best method is to follow the doctor's advice though it is surprising that there are so many different ways suggested by different doctors and no general consensus. I searched about the ointment on google and it seems it is for pain and also for preventing infection. Its been 8 days today and I guess I would stop using that now. The thing with first HT is I have not been able to truly evaluate My results. There have been slightly less growth but the doctor seems to be a very genuine person. He did a free touchup of 700-800 grafts also to the areas which were not transplanted before! So no complaints there.
  3. Hello everyone After My 1st HT in May 2014 last week I had a second HT with the same doctor for around 750-800 grafts which was repair to original areas and addition to other areas as well. I intend to create a detailed thread about it later. My concern now is how to take care of the grafts after the transplant and when one can be safe about it? I have read different methods on internet. Some doctors suggest bathing them frequently in saline. Some suggest bath just once a day. Some suggest putting lotion etc to prevent scabbing. Some say it should not be done. All this is very confusing since ideally there should be 1 correct method. The doctor I got the transplant from recommended the following- 1.) An ointment that has to be applied to the donor areas for 7 days. I wonder what is that for. 2.) Cleaning the donor as well as recipient area by putting a mild shampoo in a spray bottle once a day. No touching. Mild massage can be done to donor area after 7 days and to recipient area after 10 days. What I would like to know is- 1.) Why so much restrain with the donor area? Can anything happen to hair in that region? 2.) At about 6-7 days the scabs at the recipient region are drying and they come off easily with a little massage. They usually have hairs attached to them. There is NO pain and NO blood. Am I safe in doing this or some damage can be done to the grafts? 3.) Is the doctor's method of just 1 wash per day with no lotion etc good? 4.) Finally is the image attached of a graft? I ask because the end seem to have a curved age. Again there was no pain or blood. Thanks everyone for reading the long post.
  4. Thanks a lot for the update Ezel. Very sad to know that it didnt work out as expected even when you took all the care. I wish you all the best and hopefully things would turn out great in future.
  5. Maybe other members can help but doesn 3000 grafts look too much for the transplanted area? Did you consult other doctors and what was the estimate graft count given by them?
  6. Thanks everyone for the positive replies. I agree with Blake and Other members that the ht was not a failed operation. The quality and angle of grafts that have grown look quite natural. Following are the areas where I believe are the issues- 1.) There has been less than adequate growth on the right side. 2.) In the front there is a small area where there is very less growth. In light this area looks bald but in dark it looks fine. 3.) Some hair have grown in crown but I am yet to find out if it was adequate growth. 4.) While this all has happened I have also lost some more hair at crown and also in the mid scalp reason where there was no transplant thus worsening things. I would definitely consult 1-2 more doctors in person before taking a final step and getting their views on graft growth and then decide what to do. The thing I am wondering is if there are just 300-400 grafts that did not grow should I chose the same doctor for the following reasons- 1.) Along with transplant to other areas he shall most likely do free touch up of those 300-400 grafts. Money though is not a deciding factor. 2.) What have grown looks quite natural I believe. And with the other very good doctors also there have been less than good results. 3.) The doctor himself did slit making in the hairline which has grown well. The slit making (which I realize now is most important part) in some other parts with less growth were done by the techs which I believe might be the reason for bad result. This Time I can talk with the doctor that he shall do all the slit making himself. Overall this Time I have more information than the previous Time and this makes Me more worried and confused about making the correct choice. I do not know what to do . Hopefully the doctors I would visit could help and I get a good result this Time.
  7. Is the result that bad? Can you tell from the pics how many grafts you believe have grown? Any other feedback friends?
  8. Hello The doctor is not known on HRN but a friend knew atleast 2 people who got a ht done with good results and he has also done quite a few celebrity transplants. The website shows great results. I visited last month. the doctor said a touch up of 200-400 grafts would be required but since I have also thinned at the mid scalp reason where transplant was not done I should visit one month after so that he can plan how to follow. I am guessing he wont charge for the touch up but My concern is I am not able to judge how the overall growth has been and should I trust him for a second ht or go with a different doctor? What are your views on no. of grafts and growth? ------------------------------------------------------- Just to add the pics I shared have been clicked in good light with top angle. Here is one pic from the front angle.
