I just started a new job and the money is pretty good. Been playing around with the idea of going back to Konior to fill in a little in the front (what he originally wanted to do when I told him I wanted the crown handled too) and some in the mid scalp region. Do I want an FUE or another big FUT (totally different procedures). If I did an FUT, he'd have a lot of hair to play around with because my donor area is pretty good. I went off propecia, but think I'm gonna go back on because my hair is thinning a bit so yeah, it definitely makes a difference.

Nice. I'm thinking I may get another procedure done in the next 3-4 years. I have no complaints about Konior other than his list is long For people that don't know, I had a 3800 FUT procedure 3-4 years ago. Maybe it was 5? You lose track of time when you're not worrying about your hair lol

I agree with what the above poster said, but FYI, my staples came out after 3 or 4 days. And that was with Konior.

You'll regret not going to Konior. Best in your area? ROFL! Like top 5 in the world. I have zero regrets with Konior. He made only 1100 grafts on my crown look amazing. The other 2700 went in the front.

This is galling. A terrible clinic/surgeon trying to sue their victims for "defamatory" statements. All the judge has to see are the terrible pictures/medical work.

I think "artificial" is probably the wrong word. I think my comment is true for anyone with a HT. That when you stick your face in the mirror, unless it's dense packing, you can tell the spacing isn't as close as it would be with native, non-thinning hair. But I'm pretty sure the only people who can tell that are you and the doctor. No one else would get close enough or could. I also suspect that if I had a second surgery, I wouldn't say that as the density would increase. Dr. K would put additional grafts in the front and close up the "spacing." But since Dr. Konior had a large area to cover with 2700 grafts in the front, he spaced them how you space them. Plus, I requested grafts on my crown as well. Dr Konior literally told me, "I could make you look like a rock star" if I had 3800 grafts put only on the front. I don't regret my decision. I really hated the thinning on my crown, and now I have a head with no bald areas. THe only way I could be happier is with a second surgery. Does that make sense?

Ok, bumping this because I finally added pics. I am more than satisfied with this result lol THese pics are 23 months after surgery with Dr Konior. This is diffuse morning light. In direct sunlight, it can cut through the hair more. THat's the only reason I think I'd get a second surgery, to add density. But I am more than happy with this result.

Crap. Realized I haven't uploaded a pic. I need to do that. EDIT: Added pics Didn't see any noticeable difference with the Derma E Scar. My scar shows more on the left side of my head than the right, but it's not a big deal. It's been 2 years since I joined this site. I would say, if not life changing, the HT was life improving. Between dietary changes, a fairly intense work out schedule, and my HT, my dating life in the past few months has undergone a noticeable improvement. Considering I'm in my mid-40's and I live in youth obsessed LA, I'm not complaining. I really need to post a pic, but once you get a HT (a good one, anyway) the obsessing goes away. I've had enough unsolicited "You look great for 4X" comments that I know the HT is a large part of that. So, long story short, you can't go wrong with Konior. And it was worth it paying a little more to get results like I have.

I think it depends on how big a surgery Konior does. I had 3800 grafts done, and the surgery was big enough that he first cut a strip out from the right side of my head. Then he cut one out of the left. And yes, I had both sutures and staples. Staples came out like 3 or 4 days after surgery...I can't remember exactly when.

Honestly, I'm not in a rush. I will probably get this done in the next 2-3 years. I still can't believe how good the crown looks with "only" 1100 grafts. My main concern with my hair is that strong sunlight can cut through. I feel another surgery with a similar graft count of 3-3.5k will certainly help. Also, there is some talk of hair cloning possibly happening in the next 5 years, so that's intriguing as well (I saw an article somewhere...although sometimes that news ends up being a bunch of hot air).

I'm just bumping this thread because I saw some new Konior threads, and I want people to know what a difference this man makes with the dedication to his craft. I am leaning towards getting another surgery in the future with Dr. K, but this would probably be 2-3 years away. It's a little hair-greedy, but whatever. It's my hair. Dr. K is awesome, and you can't go wrong with him. I should probably post a 1.5 years later pic. I'll try and remember later in the week. Konior Klub for Life!

The first thing you should do is get on meds. Both propecia and rogaine 5% foam. I was on Propecia 4 months before my surgery. Many recommend to be on it for a year before. And unless your scalp reacts negatively, every man with MPB should be on Rogaine IMO. If you have a good doc, you shouldn't be nervous. I was nervous, had a few bad dreams with the doc I was scheduled with, and ended up going with one with a great track record. One who got me more grafts and a fantastic result...Konior. Even though he was almost twice the price of the first doc, it was money well spent. You don't want to mess around with your hair. Good luck.

Well, Rogaine instructions state it helps the crown. But you should do whatever Dr. Konior suggests. And yeah, if I were Norwood 2 I may not have used Propecia. But I am a 5/6, so I definitely used it

Personally, for my HT with Konior, I went on Propecia 5 months before the surgery. I stayed on it for one year before post HT reducing dosage to 3 pills a week (Sun, Tues, Thur). I also use Rogaine foam every day. Not sure why you would stop using the foam, but good to hear you're back on it. Not sure if you want to try Propecia, but it's something to consider. Combing your hair everyday or styling it at 6 months won't affect a thing. My growth started at around 3.5 to 4 months with Konior. But I kept my Rogaine use and Propecia constant throughout until I hit 12 months post HT, at which point I cut back on Propecia.

I actually think there are a few that compare. Sam Spade's Konior thread is a good one as is Matt's Konior thread. I'm also pretty happy with mine (3800). This is a good result, no doubt though. Gabel is good

I am pretty sure he is hypothesizing what could have happened. I didn't take that as a slam on FUE procedures. Buy hey, see what you will...

When Dr. Konior says he would let Dr. Gabel operate on him, you know you're in good hands. (Dr. Konior said that to me the day of my surgery).

Minor at best. When my hair is wet I can maybe see where it was. But it's about 2 inches back from my front hairline, so it's barely noticeable. It's as if you had a scar that really faded and now you can barely tell it was there. That's how I'd describe it, if that makes sense (even though it's not a scar). I'm still amazed at how good the back looks with only 10% coverage (Dr. K's words). It was so spares back there before, and he worked on quite a large area. Looks like this crown was such a black hole (knocks on wood).

Maybe two different techs? One on one side and one on the other?

Ok. We're almost at a year and I forgot to update for a few months because (honestly) that's what happens when you have a good HT. You stop obsessing like you used to. Anywho. Here is 11 months and almost 3 weeks. Pretty happy with the results. And that's kinda an understatement lol. I almost feel cocky with this hair, but am hoping I've learned some humility along the way in my 30's and 40's (especially after needing a HT). In short, I am very grateful to Dr. K and his team and their dedication to their craft. Dr. K's skill and care really improves the lives of men and their mental health.

I think I forgot to post an updated pic for January, and missed February. I will have to take one soon. This is what happens when you get a hair transplant from a great doctor. You stop being obsessive about your thinning hair. Just a few minor things for people to consider and remember: 1) A hair transplant will typically not give you the density of your non-thinning native hair. It's an illusion of sorts to make people think your hair is just as thick as it has always been. Just something to think about. 2) I can tell I no longer have a virgin scalp. Sometimes the back of my head gets itchy along the scarline...this could possibly be nerves still repairing/regenerating, but when I move my head in certain positions I can feel a little bit of tension. I only mention this so people realize surgery is surgery. At the same time, the things I just mentioned are the miniscule of miniscule. 3) At certain angles because of how my hair lays, I can see the scar on the left side of my head in the morning when my hair is wet. When my hair is dry, you can't. Other people certainly can't (this is a quirk of looking at yourself in the mirror). But just something to think about. This may not bother anyone else, but it's a reminder I've had the surgery 4) In order to truly get "native-like density" most people with a Norwood 5 or higher will require two surgeries. There is plenty of space for Dr. K to fill in between the already transplanted hairs if he ever has a second go-around on my scalp. 5) I am beyond happy I got the surgery. Confidence is up. The number of dates I have gone on has skyrocketed. And overall, I am not constantly obsessed with my thinning hair. Here's an added bonus of the HT...the way I used to comb my hair, I couldn't run without having the combover portion come flying up when air/wind got underneath it. Now, because I can wear my hair shorter, I can run without worry. Win 6) Everyone's hair after a transplant is different, but mine looks better shorter. When it gets longer, the hair tends to get bunched together and create areas where the hair won't lay over evenly (thick in one area, thin in others). Don't know why this is, but my hair lays much more evenly when it's shorter. Regardless, I like my hair shorter and a friend of mine who had a HT a few years ago is amazed that I can (essentially) wear my hair as short as I had it before the surgery (on the sides). I think that's about it. Just wanted to update people. I'll try and take a pic tomorrow in my car. Keep forgeting because I am trying to get everything sorted before I go on vacation soon. Going surfing, so that should let you know the confidence I have with my hair

I don't have redness, but I can see the scar with my hair wet with a #6...but I think that's because of how the hair is laying. My hair naturally comes forward, which when I am looking in the mirror is like having the hair not layer over itself. So kind of like looking down a 2 dimensional piece of paper. People can't see it from the side though, it's only me lol. Every once in awhile, my scar area is itchy and I am 11 months out from Konior...one of the best. There is nothing wrong, mind you, but I can tell I don't have a virgin scalp if that makes sense. No complaints though, just want people to understand surgery is surgery.

In my opinion, that is nowhere near 4k in grafts. And they left a big section out in the middle. I don't know what to say except that if you go to get a HT in Chicago, you should probably only visit Dr. Konior.

How this place is still in business is beyond me. How these doctors can continue to operate on people is beyond me. In fact, it's unconscionable. And you know the doctor knows he's not good. Can people sue for medical malpractice on elective procedures? Maybe file a grievance with the state of Colorado medical board? I'm just throwing things out there.
