I finally decided to take that step, to cross the line and booked my FUE with Dr. Bhatti for April 29th. I am 37 years old, British living in Singapore. My hair loss is 90% in the crown, where I have been thin for a long time, and I always felt I could do with having that gap filled by a good surgeon. The plan is for a 2,700 grafts session, which include some strengthening of the hairline. I gave the doctor a hard time by keeping my hair at near zero at the moment, making it very difficult for anyone to really address the case. The above-mentioned 2,700 grafts will be needed in the worst-case scenario. A couple of points: Since I started researching HT, I can now spot a FUT scar a mile away. It's ugly and kind of a "point of no-return" for me. FUE will allow me to keep my head short, and in case I suffer from bad hair loss in the future, I can still buzz the lot off. my skin tone is extremely pale, so I am not too concerned with the "white dots". And now my concerns: Other than the crown, my hair is still pretty solid. I hope the HT won't damage the existing follicles. I will start taking FIN only after my wife and I have children, I am worried about the side effects. I have been using Minoxidil for years - No noticeable effect. I will update with pre-op and post-op photos. I travel to India for work and I am familiar with culture, customs and have certain expectations. I plan to work from home for a week after the surgery and be back in public about 12/13 days after the event. Thanks for reading !

Impressive yield. I plan to have a procedure with Dr. Bhatti, and so far communication has been excellent. What would help in this case - well, it would help me, specifically - would be to see a photo of the crown area now. I can see the post-op one, but not of the progress.

You are right. I was rather referring to trimming down the donor area with clippers to alow grade.

Shave the lot off? That's my plan (at 12 days post-op going back to the office)

It looks like the vast majority of the grafts did grow, which is a success in itself. Like others, though, I would question the density plan for the transplant. That's between you and the doctor. Your post-op pictures show the transplanted grafts quite clearly.

Finally in the latest video you can see that his HT has done wonders for him. I think the one with the bleached hair looked quite bad, both for the redness and the harshness of the hairline. But look at what the guy looked like before the procedure. Wow.

It looks like super-clean work. Nice hairline design as well. With your skin tone your procedure will be virtually undetectable in days. Keep us updated - I have a vested interest as I am planning a procedure with this doctor.

As someone interested in a transplant for mainly the crown area, I would like more info on the subject too. To the OP, you do have some good progress from the shiny bald patch on the first photo to the latest ones. I, personally, will ask to use beard hair and normal hair for my crown. I'm aware it will be difficult to achieve 100% coverage, but even a partial one will work. In my opinion a bald crown is hideous to look at. I can't stand mine so I buzz everything down to no-guard. Edited: I typed "bear hair" instead of "beard hair". Some freudian slip! Laughing at myself now.

my excuse is that I washed the inside of my bike helmet with something I found to be highly allergic to and got burned. In the end if colleagues don't believe it and gossip I don't actually really care.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer, but my understanding is that beard hair is thicker than scalp hair can can provide good coverage if used in combination. My estimate is to use 15% beard hair for my procedure. I'm apparently a vertex NW3 (but don't mind the high hairline, it has always been thus).

Valid points. But with the use of beard and body hair to fill the vertex, one could have a full head of hair. Unfortunately I'm one of those cases, where I have a good hairline but thin vertex. So my HT will be mostly in the vertex with some minor hairline work. I will use beard hair too, as I am not concerned about colour (salt & pepper already).

I agree in principle. However, a good hairline with a clean, polished bald spot at the back still looks ridiculous. even low density in the crown area is better than slick-bald.

Looks good, the skin looks well healed and the donor area looks fine. Is the crown swirl the doctor's design? if so, for what you can see now, it looks very well thought.
