  1. Seems pics were taken under direct light but decent growth and coverage BigP! Still on fin? I know you are against toppik and hair fibers but seems you might get a fuller look with concealers, at least based on the online videos. I've ordered toppik and see if it helps till my year mark.
  2. Helpful advice Spex! I've read your informative posts in different sites and learned a bit about the ht journey. So thanks man!
  3. Hey Big, still in the ugly duck phase or growth has began? About 7 weeks since my HT and almost all transplanted hair has fallen off. Many had, similar to yours, curved or 90 deg angle shape on one end while others straight on both ends. Not sure why the variation?
  4. Nice head of hair there, betterlate! And only at 6 months! Thanks for the update and will check again for more. It's been 7 weeks since my HT and trying to avoid mirrors while at the ugly duck phase. Have sporadic pimples. And most transplanted hair if not all have fallen out. Many of the fallen hair had 90 degree angle or curved shape on one end while others straight on both ends. Wonder if you had similar observations?

  6. Hey Ready, How did the surgery go? Exploring Istanbul bar scene since ht is out of the way?
  7. Looks good for 6 months. Mid scalp is a bit thin but then I had to look at your extensive hairless pre ht. So what's a reasonable expectation at 6 months? 50-60% growth? If so, then you are on track. As other members said, still have a long way to go. Are you also on fin?
  8. Solid progress, betterlate! Yea, i've been MIA from this site lately since my surgery as things got busy after my return from Istanbul. Thanks to your tips and other fellow members on this site, the trip & surgery went well. It's almost 3 weeks since my HT and so far, it seems I'm recovering well. I found ASMED as you had described -- modern clinic with efficient and trained staff/techs, great customer service and a skilled surgeon/doctor passionate about his clinic and work! Only hope my result down the road would be satisfactory!
  9. Agree with fellow members here, sometimes even re-reading your posts is helpful! BigP, another Dr E patient, and I have been taking about the extent of pain after anesthetics wear off, (first 2 weeks post-op?!). What was your experience? Some pain is understood as this is surgical procedure after all. Upon my return, I have to wrap up some work, from home though, and would like to get an idea if pain the first 15 days after surgery is manageable to be moderately productive?! I'm flying back 5th day post-op -- staying first two days at Radisson and at ASMED during the two day surgery. I was thinking of moving to a more economic option (e.g. Flora) afterwards but seems staying at ASMED longer is a better option, particularly if there was pain/discomfort?! How effective were pain killer pills in the first week? Happy growth!
  10. Congrats ready4hair! I have read your informative posts on some of the ongoing threads! Seems our respective research led us to the same doc. I'll be at ASMED 3rd week of this month and 5000 grafts. Look forward to your posts and will follow your updates!
  11. Thanks, BigP - appreciate your feedback! So yea, I'll be there third week of March, 5000 grafts, similar to your case. I'm staying at the clinic during the surgery and thinking of moving to flora 3rd day. I'm flying back on the 5th day post-op and a long ~12 hour flight. Seems pain starts after anesthetic wears off so not sure if booking my flight 5th day after surgery was a good idea?! I didn't want to stay 10 days and also didn't want to fly the day after surgery. If you remember, was it during the first 5 days when you had anesthetic injections? Pain killer pills weren't effective that you went anesthetic route? If there was considerable pain, i might do the same just to minimize discomfort during the long flight. How did you manage to not scratch your head, particularly during sleep? Heard damaging grafts by scratching is common. Again, thanks for discussing such specific area of the journey!
  12. Read your thread and your experience at the various stages - great documentation! And not to mention, fantastic results! idk if you need a second procedure with that head of hair but you know better! BTW, though it has been a while, any severe pain or discomfort in the first weeks post-op? How long the numbness lasted? Thanks
  13. Hope all is going well, BigP, I was just on another thread where pain post-FUE was discussed. Apparently there are cases where patients experience severe pain starting 5th day post-op and lasts about a week. Some say the pain is due to deep punch and/or wrong application of anesthetic which may have resulted to nerve damage. There are others who say that such pain is common and its due to the nerves healing. How was your experience? Pain post-op? If so, how intense? Thanks!
