  1. Minox is poison, well it was for me. glad to hear that things have normalized. i will never use it again.
  2. yes, definitely. is your scalp turning red? how long have you been using it? i had a slight itch but about a few months in my scalp started turning really red. i was advised to stop. if your head is like this then get your doctors opinion.
  3. Pill splitting should be fine. No dr will every advise you to split a pill because it jeopardizes the integrity of the pill (ie contamination). They also probably don't want you to stray from the suggested dosage schedules. Pills are meant to endure the contents of your digestive tract to make sure that it doesn't break down before it gets to the desired dissolving location. So i think it'll be fine to split
  4. Shedding at the beginning is somewhat normal. the body sheds skin cells all the time to make new ones. you lift weights to actually damage you muscles and it's the recovery that makes them stronger and bigger. Why don't you try finas/prop? I feel like all the best success stories come from people that have an actual regimen vs a single product - fin + something topical. I don't think there's a single product that works for everyone. There are even different efficacy levels between generics. I've heard great success stories of people pairing their fin with topical products and making a few lifestyle changes. unfortunately propecia never worked for me but i had to put in a lot of work to get to where i'm at. hope this helps anyways, don't give up if all you've tried is minox. too many things out there
  5. How is your current regimen working? I've used a similar regimen and yielded results. I just paired them with some PSO (topical and ingestible) and saw palmetto. I also massage frequently, hot and cold showers and changed up my diet. having several years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, i know that the FDA seal of approval is a marketing tool that only big pharma can afford. obviously in order to get the FDA approval you need clinical trials with proof. so yes, if the fda has approved them then you know it works to a degree but it doesn't discount alternative options since a lot of alternative methods don't have the funding to go through the trials. There was actually a double blind clinical trial done this year that yielded real results from using pumpkin seed oil. hope this helps
  6. no morning wood at the age of 20. i'd go ask your doctor for his/her assessment. The % of people that see side effects from finasteride/propecia are very small. I was one of the unfortunate sufferers but got off that really quickly because i was trying to start a family. It wasn't certain if it was all mental or an actual side effect but i didn't want to take the chance. It may also be your lifestyle choices. The reason why i felt like i fell into that % was because i was very physically active (which can also work against you - sweat, etc) but my diet was crap. Have you recently changed your diet, fitness regimen, etc? I feel like all hair loss doctors end up prescribing the mix of meds. How are you making out with just minoxidil? you know they recently released a study of pumpkin seed oil working for hair loss? I use it and i feel it's helped a lot. All the best
  7. Oh man! no way that's a nw6 diffuse. i'm envious of your hair line! Yeah, you should definitely get some topical product(s) in there. i used propecia and came up with my own concoction (gethairjoy.com) and saw results. Never saw results like that with strictly propecia. congrats! The shaved head suits you. i'd keep it!
  8. You're using three shampoos? I feel like that's pushing it. I know that when i introduced a secondary topical product (rogaine then revivogen) i started shedding but like GoneTodayToo said, it may be a sign of it working - your scalp may be regenerating. If anything, have you tried adding ingestibles into your regimen? Topical approaches are great but if you're looking for a catalyst you may want to try propecia. If you want to stay away from meds, try pumpkin seed oil 1000mg every other day. i swear by that stuff.
  9. I agree. a diet/lifestyle changes can really help prevent hair loss and even improve the efficacy of whatever product you're using. there are a lot of ebooks out there that you can read up on. I personally have seen a lot of great results with emu oil, PSO, regular combing and massaging. i went from a NW3V to a NW3A in about 12 months. check the ebook gethairjoy or nicehair
  10. Im a strong believer that in order to effectively address your hair loss is to be both preventative and reactive. You should look at gethairjoy. it did wonders for me. it's a system rather than just a product i take. it's really good to understand what causes hair loss and treat those factors. you'll be amazed how much more effective your regiment will be.
