  1. Ill try to get some pics tonight or tomorrow but im looking for pretty much exactly what you have for my beard, only its just a portion that is maybe the size of my thumbprint, where it sorta dips down. My beard area isnt scarred though. The scaring is under my chin and the size of hairless portion is approx the same (thumbprint). I think your pics came out great, how does it look when shaved? I guess I want/hope a shaven look to look just as 'normal' as pre transplant. I dont have my hair grown out all the time, but I do sport the scruff look Lastly, are these pics from work with Dr Rahal?
  2. Thanks for the clarification Bill. With that said, anyone have anything to say about either of these 2 or others in the area"? Thanks
  3. Just saw that Dr Charles works under Dr Epstein. Charles is on the 'recommended surgeons' list for what its worth. Any comments on either, or any other south FL HT docs would be great. I know there is the one (forget the name) that is horrible so no worries, I dont be going to see him
  4. Im going to repost part of my thread on the other forum but basically looking to do hair transplant into my beard area. Im local to Dr Epstein so thought, if he was good, to check him out. details: So a few things. My beard 'line' on one side of my face sorta dips down. Its not super noticeable but naturally, it bothers me enough to consider a hair transplant. If I had to guess it would be under 100 hairs. I also had some surgery on my neck awhile back and it left a scar/no hair just under my chin. Both of these areas Im looking to put some hair back. Lastly, Im in south FL and trying to find a good doctor. Ive read some great things about some docs in Canada and NJ, which if it came down to, I would fly there. However I know there is a Dr Epstein local which has pictures of facial transplants that *look* promising. His pricing, last I spoke with them, seemed higher than most, but its only 20miles from me. Not sure if anyone has experience with him and can speak about it. Also this is a tad different than most on the boards so its for facial transplant so Id def want someone who can do this with zero/minimal effect to my face. Thanks all for your help!

That leads me to my questions -Im worried about scarring on my face with the transplant. I dont always have my beard grown out, so will I see any sort of scar or mark where the folicle was transplanted? -Im assumed between the two methods of extraction it will make no difference on what Im trying to accomplish in terms of end result? -Regarding my chin area, since it was a scar, even if hair is transplanted, will/can it grow after the fact? 6. Actually I totally misunderstood what FUE was. FUT will be fine too!! and FUT is cheaper
  7. So at this point, Ive lurked on this board for a bit and it seems that 3 doctors really stand out: -Dr Wong in Canada -Shapiro in NJ/NY -Feller in Minn I think I have those locations right. Anyways Im looking to do some very minor touch up work on my beard (my guesstimate is 100grafts), but obviously I dont want to chance this being so visible. I have yet to call these 3 but plan to. Figured Id spend a little time here and see if any one has had experience with these guys, and hopefully relating to FUE/FUT with the beard area. Also, not sure if we are allowed to discuss pricing. I noticed that the price per graft was on one of the sites. $10/per (FUE). Is that about avg or what should I expect? About $5/per for (FUT) I would also be traveling to all 3 as im in south FL (lets not talk about Bauman) Thanks all!
  8. Looks like you went to Dr Epstein 2x, but recommended Dr Shappiro. Were you displeased with Epstein or could you give any details? I do am in the in Boca/Ft Lauderdale area and Dr Epstein has locations in Miami and Boca I believe. So there is that conveinence but havent heard much about him. They have a million sample photos on their website which is somewhat nice but doesnt mean much. Thanks
  9. Guess I thought it interesting that everyone giving him praise joined the forum March 29th or March 30th and have under 15 posts Anyways im in the Boca area and while Im not ruling this guy out completely, are there any other recommended surgeons? I have a few touch up areas on my beard. (under 100 grafts I would imagine) Thanks
  10. I always use a Mach 3 or Mach 5 blade. I go downwards and on occasion will go upwards as well, esp on my neck area. LOL to the narly beard idea. I def like the 3 day look with the stuble, seems to be 'in' these days. Not sure Id want the Grizzly Adams look tho Ill wait another 7 weeks before I start to worry more. All your comments reinforce how minor it is, but I dunno, it still sorta bothers me. But again, Ill hold off before making any rash decisions. I see my necklift doc around that time too so Ill mention to him Thx!
  11. The thing is I like having that lack of shaven look, however I always shave my neck area. But my face I will let it grow out for up to about 4 days before shaving and then I repeat, so I def want it to grow. I suppose Id be with the minority WANTING facial hair lol. It def bothers me though as much as I hate caring about it. I think a lot of it is because before Feb 1, it wasnt missing, and then due to the surgery, the hair fell out / died. I know its only been 7 weeks so Im thinking there may be a chance it comes back but I dunno. Just trying to get more clarity on my options I threw another pic in there that I took a min ago which I think will better illustrate Thanks guys!
  12. So heres the deal. Im fairly young, just under 30 and even though Im in pretty good shape Ive always had a minor double chin (via 'wonderful genes I guess') and anyhow about 7 weeks ago I had a necklift done. They moved the skin up and tightened it with a little lipo in there. Ok so this relates to hair in that a week or so after I noticed a nice patch of hair missing. Almost what looks like a slash on my face. I realize its minor but hey, none of us would be here if we didnt care about our looks in some way right? So I guess my questions are: 1. What is the liklihood this will 'grow back' on its own? Its looks like there is no folical there, not that Im an expert but that makes me think its dead (maybe the shockloss from the necklift?) 2. If it most likely wont come back I may want to look into transplanting just a few hairs so its not so obvious. Since most of these convos are about transplanting on someones head, I wasnt sure if anyone would know if what Im looking to do is possible or if Im a good candidate or what Anyways, any help is appreciated Pics: BEFORE AFTER
