  1. Thanks for the nice comments guys, i wanted to share my story cause im sure its like alot of yours. haha baldken i didnt even realize he was bashing permanent smp in another thread, but maybe seeing good results can change his mind. again thanks for responses ill keep you all updated on i get on
  2. Guys Ive been struggling with hair loss since 19. Ever since i was a kid i saw my dad struggle with this same issue. He wore a hair wig, and as i got older and realized what it was, i saw how it ruined his life. He was a fantastic singer, and i truly believe it impeded his career. My father passed away at 45 from a heart attack, and while i obviously can't make a connection, i think his long time suffering from hair loss was something that created his early death. Now I'm 43, almost his age, and I've been wearing a toupee for over a decade. At first its great, you have a look of hair. But soon it just fucked up my life. My friends knew about it. My police department knew about it. But still i held onto it. I train in MMA, and as you know that is no place for fake hair. I even would have sex with a hat on, just so the women in my life would never see me bald. I had really given up until about a year ago when i came across scalp micropigmentation. at first i was skeptical as most are. This can't really work can it? then i went into a consultation in person and met one of the practitioners delivering these treatments, Matt Iulo. His looked f*ken awesome, and so did the other guys i saw. But still i had doubts and sat on it for awhile. But late April i decided i needed to do this, not only for my appearance, but for my mental sanity. My beautiful wife was supportive, but a bit nervous, as was i. Ive had 2 treatments done at Headstrong ny with Matt and to say i already see a massive change in my life is an understatement. Its not just the look, but the feeling of not having that dead "raccoon" on my head. I have a hairline and look that matches my MMA lifestyle and is really bad ass. My brother just completed his 2nd and I'm almost more happy for him. And you would think when we both saw family for the Mayweather fight that they would say something. NOTHING. oh except, "thank god you got rid of that thing on your head"..."so much better now" Truly a life changer and i hope you guys that are considering it, make the jump. if i can help please let me know!
  3. Hey nick i was like you and really was anxious and confused about where to get this done, since there is so much misinformation and competing companies. Im about to post my story as i just had this done in New York. If your read my post and have any questions just ask, i know how this shit goes and you obviously don't want to make a mistake with your head. best of luck with whomever you decide
  4. Hi Nicole ive read horror stories of guys who got switched to a different practitioner, because 1 was more exprienced than the next. I guess its a case by case thing. I think any one going to this should know who their practitioner is and see his work. Ive been researching for a bit and found that in NY it was either Matt or Graig. Matt now has his own place Headstrong which i hear good things from, but if HIS is where you are going ask for Graig, ive had friends treated by both.
  5. hi guys i think the two best options are either Matthew Iulo at headstrong ny or Graig at HIS. Both those guys are the most seasoned, ive met a couple of guys that had been treated by Matt and they all looked flawless. Matt used to run the NYC and Miami clinics for HIS but left recently for his own place. if you go to HIS id request Graig. Best of luck, im going in for a consult soon at Headstrong ill let you know how it goes if you havent made a decision by then
  6. I exchanged some emails with Matt Iulo at Headstrong and he actually told me he uses varying gauges of micro needles depending on the skin type and follicles of a person and area of scalp. That seems better than a 1 size fits all....i go for my consultation next week so ill dig even deeper. _sal
  7. that looks good so far Thunder... let us know how your second session goes.. by the way where is the Headstrong NY clinic located..is it manhattan? _sal
  8. Spanker, his pictures are from the first session. it takes usually 3 sessions for a complete look. I say we hold fire untill he reports back... based on what ive seen on SMP forums, hes on the right track. best of luck Thunder, im planning to go to Matt next month so look forward to your update. _sal
  9. guys i joined this forum 3 days ago because i am excited about this SMP treatment. Ive researched alot like Thunder and know that 1 treatment is the base and then a 2nd treatment fills in density and fine tunes the look. I think we should all be respectful to each others decisions. The guy Thunder went Matt is considered one of the best in the United States, so im sure hes going to get a kick ass look. If SMP is not for you, then why post in this thread? it should be for people seriously considering the treatment and want to discuss results. Keep at it Thunder, i plan to book a consultation right after you finish reporting! _sal
  10. Thunder, i think that looks very good for a start. hairline shape fits your head very well. anyone that follows SMP knows that it is a process and that the dots will become smaller and the density will be added. look forward to seeing your 2nd session photos, i heard thats where the magic happens. good start so far. also, i wouldnt pay much mind to the above opinions, they come from two posters who promote Hair transplant doctors- so of course they have a hidden agenda _sal
  11. awesome, i've been looking for a place in NY to get this done. Heard Matt Iulo is really good at SMP, keep us updated please! im a NW 6 so we look to be similar cases. excited to see your final results
