  1. I started taking Minoxidil around March, 2012 after I stopped Propecia. I stopped taking Minoxidil in October of 2012. Then started Propecia again.
  2. This article is useful, but mentions the hair follicles return after several months, but mine never returned. Anything the Minoxidil made fall out should have grown back by now. I was told if you quit using Minoxidil the hair that gre back from Minoxidil will fall out. Any hair that was there normally and fell out from Minoxidil should grow back...but it did not. I now have several very short hairs in the areas the Minoxidil was added, some areas on the right side are bald. When I started they were normal sized hairs but becoming limp. When the shedding happened, it increased my receding hairline within months, and the natural hairs that Minoxidil made fall out never grew back after this cycle.
  3. Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps the combination you are doing is helping you more. My experience for the time I was taking it was shedding, especially after taking a shower. The hair that Rogaine caused to fall out quicker never grew back. I'm glad that Rogaine seems to be working for you though.
  4. Nanogen is very good, although I do not know if it is as natural as Caboki. In my opinion Nanogen does a better job on my hair, but they recently changed Nanogen a bit, and I now find that I go through it quicker since then. This is on the crown area. I did use Nanogen a few times on my hairline, but could feel it absorbing into my hair follicles through out the day, this area was already a sensitive area. I did not want it to clog up the hair follicle area to make it worse so I do not use it on my hairline anymore. I use it nearly everyday, and washing it is a pain though, I do not think it comes out completely with just water, so I use a small amount of shampoo in the area where thee Nanogen was added. From what I understand though the more you wash your hair or use shampoo the drier it becomes. So using shampoo twice a day can have that effect. But Nanogen is my favorite hair fiber concealer.
  5. It made my hair recede more, especially the right side, it made it receide quicker...after about 6 to 8 months of it I finally stopped using it for fear that i'd lose more hair. It has been almost two years and the hair never came back. Now I have an uneven hairline and have to style it weird to hide the patch. I would have better off never taking Rogaine! I heard it is supposed to make the hair fall out and regrow new hair, but what if it makes it worse? As a grad school student in college I did not want to take that chance. I honestly thought the hair would grow back. Would like to know others responses to this. Or if they had similar results, or people who had their hair fall out but continued taking it. This is depressing me as I have not even lived half my life yet.
  6. Have not heard much about this on the reviews. Has anyone tried this? Would it work nicely on the hairline?
  7. Found my hair thining in the back crown area in 2009 and immediately went to dermotologist to get Propecia. He prescribed it and I was taking it until mid 2012 after some side effects. During the first 3 years on Propecia I started using Nioxin Shampoo and Conditor system 1, and noticed it made my scalp a bit ichly and caused flakes/dandruff, so I discontinued it and went back to my regular shampoo Matrix Biolage. Aside from the minor side effects from Propecia I noticed the crown basically remained the same or got slightly worse (depending on photos) and the frontal area receided more compared to 3 years prior, especially on the right side. So I stopped taking Propecia. From there I started Rogaine Foam 5% around April of 2012, on the crown area and on the frontal area. A few months after starting Rogaine, I also started using another hair treatment shampoo called Revita. This was around the summer months of 2012. Around September and October I noticed the crown area stayed the same, but the frontal area became worse. Especially on the right side as that my hair was falling out more. I also experienced the shedding, along with some of the root/papila. But it seems the shedding was patchy as it went up the front hairline and mde the left hairline rather choppy looking. So I switched shampoos to Nioxion Shampoo & Conditioner System 2. Then a few weeks to a month later stopped taking Rogaine out of fear that it would make my hair worse. In December of 2012 I started taking Propecia again (this time it was every other day) and 10-12 months later stopped taking Propecia as well. Since the minor side effects were a problem, and I really did not think it was helping much. So now I am trying to find a way to fix my hairline, and maintain what I have as best as possible. I'm still young and it has effected a bit of my self esteem. I can no longer use much gel or styling products in my hair because i'm trying to cover the bald/thinning patch on the right side of my hailine by styling the hair over it, but it still looks like an uneven hairline. It has been over a year that I stopped using Rogaine, the shedding hair from the Rogaine never grew back. I really hope I did not cause more damage, the purpose was to fix the problem!
