  1. I have received many HT over the years and feel my last 2000 in December will complete my crown area. It's been 5 months and so far nothing and since all the previous times I seen grown around 4 months, I freaked out. I seen my doctor and he stated it looks good and due to me having so many HT on previous visits, growth could be delayed due to scar tissue etc. I was told a year is the right time to really see results so patience is in the air.
  2. First off, I have done work with Dr. Sword and Dr. Garbard in San Diego however I will say that my experience with Dr. Meshkin was one that was fantastic. Let me first say that all the previous doctors gave me perscriptions "after" the surgery making it very painful waiting at a pharmacy after the fact. I received all my meds prior and even began to take anti swelling and other medication a few days prior. I went through my evaluation and we decided that 2000 to 2500 would work well to fill out the crown and forward area of the head. I was given some medication for relaxing. One was Zanax, I think it was a half. I took it, went through the cut with a little pain as he fixed up some of the other scaring from previous cuts. In previous times, I sat in a very uncomfortable chair, given a list of movies and they begin to implant. I was surprised when the lady asked me what I wanted to listen to, Mariah Carey or Santana!!! She said she wanted me to relax so Santana was the choice. I got the shots into the scalp and it seemed as if the Zanax put me in a trance that took me through the entire ordeal without pain. I started at 8 and we worked straight through until 12:30 and I was pretty much done. All the other times I have gone, I ate lunch and watched 2 or 3 movies. Not this time, I was in and out. The other great thing is Dr. Meshkin does not use staples. That experience from my past was so painful and the one part I dreaded but not this time. I had this done on Thursday, today is Saturday and no swelling at all in my face or forehead. I am not a spokeman for this Dr but I have gone three other times and each time was a painful and swelling experience. This time it was an experience that I really appreciate. The Dr. called two times to check on me and he really cares so in my mind, he has been the best so far. I hope to post some pictures of my situation as soon as I learn how to get them and post them. Dr. Meshkin. Dr. Meshkins staff was also very professional. Oh, my total was 2000. Thank you to this site for putting me in contact with this Doctor.
  3. Thank you all. I have Vicodin and will only take a few when needed. I have aspirin as well. I go in tomorrow.
  4. I go in next Thursday for 2000 hts. I have decent coverage now however I want to add some density so I get to go back to work on Monday. When you guys come home, what idea's can you give me to make the recovery comfortable as possible for those 3 days? What about sleeping? Do you guys lay a certain way? Most of my hair will be added in the crown area and towards the frontal area. With staples, sleeping on the back can be very hard. Anything you can add, please do. For some reason, I have all these crazy fears about doing this. I was excited up to today however I know it will pass. Anyway, anything you can add, please do.
  5. I have had HT before so my head is not that bald however I will be going into get more HT next week in the crown area. Does anyone know if I could still use this stuff to conceal or should I speak to the doctor. I know its made with Keratin, which is the primary protein found in real hair. Anyway, until the HT grow in, I was just wondering if I could use this for cover.
  6. Well I am finally going to finish my work. I have completed a total of 5000 so far and my head looked great however since I was not completely done with my hair loss, I now have a balding crown area therefore on Thursday, I go see Dr. Michael Meshkin and get, what I hope is the final work done. I am going in for a min 1500 and max of 2000 so should be perfect in 3-6 months. I will letyou know how my experience is.
  7. I have $6000 to spend on my crown area and of course, that would be a lot of grafts (2500 - 3500) but worry that it maybe to good to be true. Its like someone offering you a new Mercedes for $25,000 when you know the real cost is around $50,000. Something must be wrong!!!

  10. In 1999, I got 1500 HT done at $5 each. In 2003, I got 1800 done at $3 each. I didn't notice that big a difference in the work yet a big difference was the price. I want to get around 1000 more and wondered if I should use a specific doctor here in the Los Angeles area? Anyone have any suggestions. The $3 each doctor is offering the same price.

  12. Ive gone two times and my experience has been mixed. I originally went to Dr. Sword who built my frontal area and did a great job. Then I went to New Look twice. I found the work to pretty good but the seat that you sat in sucked. An old dentist chair. It's been a few years but they called me the other day and offered me $3.00 per and thinking about adding some more. Any other places in Southern California that are great?
