Honestly I'm not, I was a mild smoker for five years but quit about two and half years ago. I do still occasionally have one or two if I'm out drinking and socialising though, or on holiday. I find I can smoke the occasional cigarette without getting re-addicted. I only did it after the op because I was out there alone and feeling nervy. I'm off any kind of painkillers now and the nurse said I would be fine with a few drinks at this stage as long as I'm not getting smashed off my face or anything.

Well they advised wearing the cap also to protect from the sun in Spain. Now I'm back in the UK I'll try not to wear it really, and will leave the beanie alone completely. My hair is long enough that I should be able to cover the grafts that way if that's a better option? I'm thinking of making a blog but shall I wait 12 months for the final product first? I don't get how he can expect people to take his word when there are thousands of HT patients who can attest first-hand to the success of their results. I guess a little bit, they showed me how to put it on and take it off safely though, and the grafts have not bled. I've just bought a beanie because it looks less conspicuous than the cap, but that does touch the grafts. Should I avoid headwear? Cheers

Thanks, guys that certainly helps allay my worries. I think I've just been in a hyper-anxious state because I really want a good result. If the grafts that I can see mostly all grow through as planned I will be thrilled with the result.

Lol tbf right now I would blend right in at a 'gentlemen's club'. Wearing a cap pulled low over my head everywhere in public makes me look seedy as hell

Hi everyone, I posted this question in an existing thread I made but got no replies so I'm rewriting it in a new thread. Please don't ignore it, I'm sure a lot of you have been nervous about screwing up your hair transplant too so please help me out. I had a hair transplant in Malaga and after the op was feeling anxious so I wanted a couple of beers to relax. In the end I decided against it and just drank a couple of non-alcoholic beers instead. I did however, have a couple of cigarettes. I don't smoke but after the stress of the operation combined with the fact that smoking always seems more appealing abroad I bought a pack in a cafe and lit up two. I didn't realise that smoking is often considered a no-no because it simply wasn't mentioned in my post-op instructions. I was however told in the pre-op instructions that smokers should have a cigarette the morning of their transplant to avoid cravings during the operation. Surely if it were that damaging they would've explicitly warned against it, right? After reading these forums more since I got back I'm feeling a bit guilty and worried about it. But the day after when I went for the check up the nurse said it all looked perfect. My gut feeling is that it wouldn't have really had any effect. I know nicotine and CO can constrict blood supply and slow healing but we're talking about two cigs, not smoking a pack a day every day. There seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions on this, with some saying it's the absolute worst thing you can do and others saying it just slows down healing but doesn't affect graft survival. Can someone shed light on this? I can take people saying things I don't want to hear but no flaming please. Thanks.

My transplant was with Dr. Pissano from Vinci Hair Clinics. I chose Malaga because it was 1,000 pounds less than the Vinci clinic in London and they also offered free PRP and a hair growth guarantee.

Hi all, I just had a hair transplant today (1500 grafts FUT). I'm in Malaga, Spain, and fly back late tomorrow. It's been a long day and I am looking to go chill in a restaurant somewhere and maybe have 1 or 2 beers with my meal. I'm here alone so I'm not looking to party it up or anything, and when I say 1 or 2 beers I mean literally that. Would that small an amount of alcohol the same day as the transplant really have any effect on my new grafts? Is it better to avoid it entirely just to be safe? Thanks

Thanks for your response voipman but what I am really looking to find out is whether the Estethica clinic is legit or too good to be true and would end up doing a botched job. I having been taking Propecia for a year to keep what I already have and I have good quality thick hair - it is just the hairline that is an issue and that's why I don't think I would continue receding behind my new hairline. What are the other options to explore? Cheers

Hi everyone, My name's Julian, I'm 23 and this is my first post although I have been ghosting these forums for a while. I have a receding hairline, not too bad, probably between a Norwood 1 and 2 and having been taking Propecia for almost a year. Although my situation is not terrible, it has still dented my self confidence considerably and so I am looking to restore my old hairline or perhaps lower it even further than that so I have a straight ruler edge hairline like Brad Pitt. I had a consultation with a clinic here in the UK, but as anyone who lives in the UK will know, there are many stringent rules and regulations for just about anything, and they were unwilling to operate on anyone under 25, despite me having stabilised my hair loss with Propecia. For that reason, as well as the price, I am looking for hair transplant surgery abroad, and Turkey seems to be one of the best options. I contacted Dr. Erdogan, a top surgeon in Turkey recommended by this forum. Problem is he quoted me €7,000 for the operation alone, which while I'm sure would be top quality, is a little out of my price range. However I received a quote from Estethica in Istanbul, a clinic for which there doesn't seem to be much information on this forum. I was quoted ?1,875 for 2,600 FUE grafts (which is reassuring because it is close to Dr. Erdogan's estimate of 2,800 grafts) with meds, two nights accommodation and airport transfers included in this price. They also offered a 50% refund on the cost of the flights. Is this all too good to be true? Is there anyone here who has been a patient of Estethica clinics who could share with me their stories/experiences? Another reassuring point in the email was that I'd need to discontinue Propecia for two weeks prior to the surgery, which is again in line with other surgeons' recommendations.
