  1. No, not using any concealers, or dying my hair , or using just for men. I can only think it is because of the difference in lighting and also that the hair that was moved from the back of my head was a lot darker than the hair at the front of my head, (what was left of it) I am not on any kind of medication either. I do know I was very lucky to have found Dr Lorenzo though to do the transplant. ( After a lot of time researching him and other doctors) I don't have a problem with my hair going grey, i'm just happy to have some.
  2. No, never dyed my hair, and I have never been on any medication (before or after Ht) I am really happy though with the results.
  3. Nearly 11 months now after Ht These are pictures of before and after Ht's.
  4. Thank you, yes it has changed a lot of things in my life for the better since getting it sorted.
  5. I am now at the 6 month mark after my second Ht with Dr Lorenzo in Madrid, everything seems to be going to plan. I can't say how much getting this done has given me back my confidence and was worth all the hard earned cash I had to save up to get it done.
  6. I'm at 5 months now since my 2nd Ht , my crown is filling in really well now and the front corners also. First ones are just before a much needed haircut and the second set are just after. Sorry about the photos missing on my thread, photobucket keep removing them for some reason.
  7. I also watched it, I felt so sorry for the young guy in question. I felt that he was ill informed from the word go, it seemed more like he was being put through a production line. The removing of the skin from the back of his head looked barbaric and all the work after that seemed to be done by the technicians. the poor guy seemed totally disillusioned by it all. And as you say , no results were shown. Quote of the year from the doctor was when he said " Well I always tell the patient, at least it looks better than it did". The young guy said he was hoping for a good result after spending so much money on his Ht (?5000) I think, then said he didn't know what he would do if things went wrong. Watching this for any one considering a Ht would have scared them to near death.
  8. No , not really. I was just curios about it, and wondered if I could do anything to try and prevent any kind of loss.
  9. Does anyone know what the average percentage of graft survival rate is after having a Ht, and any reasons that may affect losing them.
  10. I'm at day 25 now and my hair is still doing ok, think I have started to loose a few of the transplanted hairs now.
  11. Thanks , and good luck hope it all goes well for you.
  12. Lorenzo charges 6 euros each or the first 1000 grafts, 4 euros each for the second 1000 and 2.5 euros each graft after that. I was over the 2000 graft mark so this one cost me 2.5 euros per graft.
  13. Lol, that is so funny. No I'm really happy with the quality of his work and his dedication to making sure you get what you pay for.
  14. At day15 now from my second Ht with Dr Lorenzo, my hair is still growing and I havn't lost any of the newly transplanted hairs yet. I can get a good idea now of where my hair line will be in 12 months time. (I chose the hairline myself by the way) I thought it looked about right for my age and isn't really that much different from my younger years ( which was quite a few years ago now) I can't thank Dr Lorenzo enough for the change he has made in my life and my new found confidence.
  15. Yes your friend is correct about Dr Lorenzo running a tight ship, and he demands the same high standards from his staff as he has. From the moment I arrived at the clinic in Madrid this was apparent, but he also seems to have a great rapport with them and they all seemed very happy to be working with him. I had Lorenzo do all the extractions and implants for me on both my Hts I hope your friend will have a great result, will he be posting his progress on the forum. It is good for all the new people who come on here thinking about getting a HT to see all the results from all the talented doctors on here, I know it helped me to make the big decision to go ahead and have one.
  16. Dr Lorenzo sent me the statistics today from my 2nd Ht in Madrid. Number of grafts 888 Singles 64 Doubles 268 Triples 383 Quadruples 159 Quintuplet 14 Total hairs 2455 Hairs per graft 2.76
  17. I'm sure you will get a great result Pma. Keep posting progress pictures. It helps all the people on here to see all the results from all the different doctors. I can understand why most of us would dread being asked to take our hats off at the airport, I just thought if I had to it would only be for a few seconds and then just carry on with the journey home. Anyone that did see it I'm sure would have forgotten about it within minutes. I decided to liberate myself and go hat less. Lol.
  18. Hi, I ended up with between 800 and 900 I'm not 100% sure, the relaxing drug they give you works a little too well on me, (which is always a good thing) Healing wise I have always been lucky in that any cut or wound I have had in the past has always sorted itself out quickly. This worked in my favour as I was heading back to England the day after my Ht and everything didn't look that bad.
  19. Hi, I did ask Dr Lorenzo if he would be doing the whole of the procedure himself via Email before I left for Madrid and he said he would be doing, he did indeed do all the extractions and implanting when I got there. I was also informed that the techs are all highly skilled and have been at the clinic for quite some time, I think I would have been ok with them doing some or all the extractions as long as Dr Lorenzo did the implanting. I would have insisted on this. I feel sure I would still have got a good result. I wanted a second Ht just to fill in a few areas I felt needed it. I also wanted to thicken up the same areas, everyone was telling me it looked well and I didn't need any more work, I guess I just got greedy. I don't think I did loose any native hair when my transplanted ones fell out, but if I did then I know it all grew back. The best advise I got from people on here was not to worry, let the Ht process go through its paces and be patient about it all. And don't judge the final result till 12 to 18 months. Also try not to stress too much. I can't say if Lorenzo places the grafts in a certain way for hair length or design, he will work out with you though what you would like or expect and what type of frontal hairline would suit both your face and age. That is what happened with me anyway. He will supply you with a cap to go home in ( which was adjustable) I think it would be a good idea to find yourself a hat that feels comfortable before going for your Ht, and fits you well. I was really bothered about walking around the hotel and airport after my Ht, but I decided not to wear the hat, I was more bothered about catching my grafts taking the hat off and on. To be honest no one really takes much notice and I just thought if anyone asks what happened to me I would just tell them the truth. You will find anyone asking is more intrigued than anything else. Just be very careful getting on and off the plane, the overhead lockers seem a lot lower that I remember them. Hope all this is helpful.
  20. This is how it looks now at day 10, all the scabs cleared away at day 4 to 5 . Just got a little itchiness now and then. But I'm happy with how things are going so far. Forgot to add that I am not on any meds either.
  21. Hi Mark, I only started to notice my hair loss in my very late 40s. and I just could not accept it although a lot of my friends and family told me it shouldn't really matter at my age. To be honest it was really getting to me and I was lucky enough to find this forum and with the help of some very well informed people on here I felt confident enough to go ahead and look for a doctor to work on me. Having gone through it I can say without question it has made such a difference to my life and my confidence it was worth every penny of my hard earned money. Not had one regret over doing it. And as I learnt from the guys on this forum, don't rush into it , do lots of research and always remember you only get what you pay for in most cases.
  22. Looks fantastic, bet you can't keep the smile off your face when you see your new hair in the mirror. I have just come back from Madrid having my second Ht with Dr Lorenzo, I can't fault anything the guy does. I think it is great that he loves his craft so much.
  23. Managed to sort a few photographs out. The first set of 4 are how I started out over 12 months ago and the second set are a lot more recent after having my first transplant with Dr Lorenzo when he was in Manchester. The next ones are the day after my second Ht back at the hotel in Madrid. The last set of 4 are back home in England at day 6.
  24. Just thought it was time I updated my thread. I have been back to Dr Lorenzo for a little more work ,this time I went over to Madrid to his clinic. My first Ht was a great result for me and I guess I have just got a little greedy for more hair on the top of my head instead of it all growing on the back. I arrived in Madrid with my partner on the 29th, had the work done on the 30th of April and back home to England on the 1st of May. I will post statistics and photographs up when I get them through from dr Lorenzo. I have also noticed that a lot of my original pictures have been removed, this is down to photobucket removing them. I will try and post new ones from another provider. If I can help anyone with any questions about flights / hotels/ taxis , please just ask.
