  1. It does not look like a stretched scare because I can see the scare as a thin line and that bald spot is around it. It bothers me because it becomes obvious when I have a haircut and have to grow my hair long to hide it.
  2. Hi, I'm 7 months post second surgery and I have a bald spot around the scare behind my left ear. It looks OK in the other side and the back of my head. If I don't see my hair growing back in that spot by month 7, does it mean that the shock loss is permanent ?
  3. Thank you for your responses. I would say the area to be covered was 2/3 of my top scalp, crown not included. The problem is that the transplanted hair doesn't look consistent with the native hair on both sides in terms of density and I have to use Toppik to achieve density ( pictures above are taken without toppik) , should I let the transplanted hair grow much longer to give a better illusion of density ? What's the optimal length that thin hair needs to make it look dense ?
  4. The area covered is the one with thin hair ( new transplanted hair ) in the pictures
  5. I have attached the results of my first HT procedure. I'm almost 2 years post surgery. 2000 Grafts were transplanted using strip method. I have some concerns because the transplanted hair looks thin and I was wondering if this is the expected growth for 2000 grafts .It still looks thinner than the native hair. I don't have pre-op pictures as I used to comb over my hair over to hide my bald spot but you can tell from the picture the transplanted area as it's thinner than the hair around. My surgery was done with one of the recommended surgeons in this forum, but when I saw results from more famous doctors here especially Dr Rahal and Dr Hasson who give you back the same density as the native hair, I wonder if this is not a failed HT. I cut my hair every month, should I probably let the transplanted hair grow longer to make it look thicker ?

  7. How many of you need toppik or any other hair concealer after HT to achieve desired density and enhance HT results? THe HT doctors say that they cannot give you back the same density as native hair , but if you still rely on Toppik after HT, does it mean that it was a failed HT ? Are they supposed to give you enough density so that you wouldn't need toppik ?
  8. I checked your profile, I think your case is different (NW 2) with a smaller area to cover so your doctor was able to put much more grafts in smaller areas. In my case I was NW 4 at the time of the surgery ( early thirties) and the doctor was predicting that I will end up NW6 in 10-20 years, now I'm progressing to NW5, so putting the same number of the grafts you had in the same area that you filled would be a suicide as all of the donor hair will be exhausted. I checked Rahal website and his results posted in forums but I was suspicious as he takes young patients in their early twenties with NW2 and uses half of their donor hair to give them a teenager hairline and even fill the temples which isn't recommended ,I was wondering if he informed them of the risks.I don't feel comfortable with doctors who do risky procedures. I has my second HT surgery done 2 months ago ,all the grafts have fallen and still waiting to see some growth.
  9. I had my first HT (FUT) done a couple of years ago:2000 Grafts :1500 on the front and 500 on the crown .I was NW 4 at the time of surgery and now progressing to a NW 5, I'm in my thirties. I saw the doctor after a year to assess the final growth and he told me that was the expected growth for the number of grafts. I wasn't happy with the density as it looks less than 25% of my native hair density and the scalp still shows under the transplanted hair. I'm still dependent on Toppik and I would say that my first surgery would have been useless without Toppik. The doctor said that he needs at least two surgeries to get the desired density and he cannot achieve density in just one procedure. Also he mentioned that I have the worst combination of hair/scalp color for density: very dark hair on a white skin that shows more the contrast between hair and scalp, that means that men with blond or brown hair and also black men are the best candidates for hair transplant ? I had my second surgery done very recently : another 2000 grafts to add more density and cover new bald spots but cannot see the results before 12 months. Now I have a total of 4000 grafts in two surgeries. Is it true that density can be achieved only in more that just one surgery ?
