  1. Not at all all difficult. Dr Ayhan, who is with Dr Hakan, Speaks English very well. Plus this lady who picked me up at the airport and was there during the whole process spoke English very fluently ...
  2. So today it's been exactly 11 months ... To summarize i have been happy with the results .. while the density in wet hair is not that much, the cosmetic look in dry hair is great .. i have naturally oily hair so everyday after shower, for the next 6-7 hours my hair are fine ... then comes the oiliness and they look less thick but it's OK .. that's usually when i'm back home .. With not taking propecia my expectation was not that high but the results are quite good in my opinion. Overall it has impacted my life in much positive way. I have lost almost 7-8 kg and i'm now much fitter ... When you feel good you want to be in shape more ..... I tend to go to parties more often than before and my wife is happy cause i like taking pictures with her much more than before ... I'm still losing the native hair because of no propecia but i'm happy that at least i won't be completely bald ... i have a plan that in 2-3 years when i have lost a lot of native hair and there are visible gaps in the transplanted hair, i would have another session of around 2000-2500 grafts ... that would be more than enough plus would be less burden on my pocket .... I think this is the final result. If I get more growth, then fine but i fell it has pretty much stabilized since last one month now ... I know there have been a lot of not so successful results with Dr Hakan lately. I guess i'm one of the better ones ... But i would still think who should I go to next time .. Part of me would want to go Dr Hakan again but then part of me would think that maybe i got lucky this time and next time may not be that lucky ... Anyways I would worry about that when time comes .... Till then all the best to the fellow hair transplant patients .. I hope you get great growth and your hair kiss ass
  3. Here as i said yesterday, please find pictures .. First 3 of them with wet hair right after taking a shower. And the other 3 half an hour later with dry hair. As i said before, the density of hair is not that much which can be clearly seen in wet hair. But since transplanted hair are thick, they give a much fuller look in dry condition
  4. I am actually quite happy with the results. And I was not complaining about late growth. I mean we are all different. For some it starts early and for some it's late. I did a lot of research before going to Dr Hakan and I would recommend people based on my experience and results. But as i mentioned there have been some rumors/speculations which just made me worry during my month 2 to month 6. After that when i got the results, I'm not so worried any more. All is well that ends well and in my case it seemed to have ended well. Plus i have i think 2-3 more months of these results getting a little more better ... I think medical is one of those profession where on job training is more important and that's how people learn. As long as the Dr informs you that apart from him some of his assistants are also working on you, it's fine. But patients should be informed. In my case, i was told that donor grafts will be removed by technicians and transplanted by Dr Hakan. And I think this was actually the case for me. But the thing is when a Dr gets more and more popular, you start seeing more of his results posted by patients ... And then you are able to judge him better. So far i have only seen 2 bad results from Dr Hakan. Others have been mostly good with a couple of them being really good. But in the last 8 months after my HT, I have seen at least 8,9 topics about Dr Hakan. Would be great to see how many of them get decent results..
  5. I would like to but recently there has been a lot of things being said about Dr Hakan's Clinic ... I mean certain posts by people who post as patients but apparently work for Dr Hakan. Also the rumors that Dr Hakan doesn't do all the transplants himself and some of it is done by his staff. I gotta tell you the last 5-6 month i was quite worried. I mean I had spent my 2-3 years savings on this procedure and that's not the main issue. The grafts from donor area are like gold dust. If they are wasted, then we don't have unlimited supply. So all these rumors were giving me nightmares. Plus my growth started a little late as well (after 6 month) .. So i was quite worried.. But good thing is I have had decent growth. Not as much as i would have liked to. There is some area in the front of the scalp, 2-3 inch above the hairline, where the density seems less. I wanted to have more density in the front and less in the back near the crown. But still Im ok with the results I had seen many posts before saying that if you are a diffused thinner and don't plan to take Propecia, don't go for HT as you would lost the native hair later and only transplanted hair will be left and will give you a strange look. That's why I wanted to have a lower graft surgery (2000-2500). Remaining grafts i wanted to keep for next surgery which I'm thinking I'll do in 2-3 years ... But I had explained all of this to Dr Hakan and wanted him to do the surgery in a way that even if i lose all the native hair, the transplanted hair alone don't give a weird look. I had much more hair loss on right side of my scalp and Dr wanted to put more hair there. But I told him that if he puts more hair on the right side, And down the road If I lose all native hair then I will have more transplanted hair on right and very less on the left. So instead of a 70% hair on right and 30% on left, i wanted a 60%-40% or 55%-45% grafts distribution on right-left side. I think he did well there. So after a long huge rant, let me reply that whether i will go to Dr Hakan Again or not .... Answer is I am keeping an eye on all his results and will keep checking. And if I see a good number of them complaining then I would consider myself as lucky case and probably won't go to him again cause you can't always be lucky. But If I see decent satisfactory results here in the next 1-2 years, then probably I would go back to him. Hope it helps. by the way I though you also had a HT planned with him. How was your experience ??
  6. Hi, I have added 2 pictures here. It's will be 8 months tomorrow. Growth has been good since the start of 7th month. The density of hair is not that much because I'm not taking Propecia so I'm still losing the native hair. But the transplanted hair are very thick. So in the wet hair, you can still see the scalp and empty area but in the dry hair, the cosmetic look is quite good and there doesn't seem to be that many blank areas. I will try to add more pictures later with dry and wet hair and multiple angles. Till then you can see these 2 pictures
  7. Damn .. Sorry to hear that man ... As i mentioned before I was with Dr Hakan one day after you (8th March 2014) .. For me the growth or you can say visible improvement has started since last one month especially now that I'm keeping the hair long. I'm alone these days and have nobody who can take decent pictures. But will be back on 28th so will post the 8th Month update in November ... I'm still losing my Native hair as I can't take Fin (had side effects) ... But the new hair are much more thicker and dense so they provide some good coverage .. Although I'm also not completely satisfied with the results .. There is a horizontal patch in the middle of my scalp between forehead and crown that seems like it has less coverage and thinner hair compared to the other.. but it had more hairloss before as well .. I would have hoped that they filled it better ... But still I'm hoping that next 1-2 months will give me more coverage .... Anyways would just like to say that by the end of 6 months I was quite disappointed and then the growth kicked in .... So hang in there ... I hope you are a late bloomer . I hope it starts for you now .... Best of Luck
  8. 5 Month 1 Week Update So it's been a tough last one month . Th growth is not what i expected and i'm a little disappointed .. And mainly If you are a recent Dr Hakan patient, last couple of months have not been easy for you on this forum . With the speculations that the clinic posts patient pictures and that maybe not all transplants are done by Dr himself and technicians do it ... So there were days when i really regretted going to him . But i met a few friend after 6-7 weeks and they said that my hair look much better . they don't know that i had transplant so i'm not sure if they mean better compared to after shaving the head for HT or before .... Anyways i comb the hair in a different way so it's not easy to compare anyway . But personally comparing my hair to the first couple of months after the HT, i think it looks better. But still to be honest I expected a little more growth . Maybe my expectations were high . and maybe it's just 5 months only and things are supposed to really get a kick start from here . Anyways here are the pictures. Do let me know if you guys see any change .. And here is to hoping for more growth PS as i mentioned before, I'm not taking propecia due to the side effects .. So naturally my native hairloss is on going ... And my expectations were according to this situation that while the transplanted hair keeps growing, the native might keep falling ... And a 2nd HT is always part of the plan down the road ... I'm using Rogain twice a day and Biotin daily though ...
  9. Man i was next to you with Dr Hakan on 8th March .... Had 2400 grafts.. To be honest have the same story here .... Slight growth but nothing much .... The worst part is, the posts by Dr Hakan's clinic show remarkable growth in 3-4 months which looks unrealistic .. I'm getting sure some of them are just posted with incorrect date ... I'm not saying those guys didn't have growth but maybe had it in 7-8 months but posted as 3-4 month ... I decided that i will not worry about this till the end of 4th month as it's part of the process and takes time .. But now at the end of month 5, i have started to lose patience as well. My expected yield was around 70% just to have less expectation. But if i don't even get, i will be writing some angry emails to the clinic .. Some of the cases here like Mickeydw at least give me some hopes ... I hope you and I are both what people call late bloomers .... Best of Luck .. I hope you get crazy growth in the next 2-3 months ... And so do I
  10. Post Op Week-11. The Native hair have started to grow back after the shock loss. I'm assuming that transplanted hair are still not started to grow as they are supposed to grow after 3 months. I had a haircut last week. Donor Area looks great with no itching or anything. Fingers crossed for the 4th month to start cause that's when the exciting things start to happen. Been using minoxidil as directed by Dr and No Propecia due to the side effects ...
  11. Post Op Day 53 Things are progressing as expected. All the transplanted hair have fallen but that’s normal. I'm in the ugly duckling phase now . Donor Area has healed completely. No itching or any other issue in Donor Area Now. I’m also using Minoxidil as directed by Dr. 2 times a day Dr also asked me to use Derma Roller but i haven't started yet. I still have some red spots on the scalp. I'm waiting for them to heal properly. Will start Derma Roller next week I think I have some shock loss in my receiving area as I have noticed the original native hair falling along with the transplanted hair. It's quite easy to differentiate between the 2 due to hair size, thickness. This is also expected specially with someone like me who has diffused/scattered thinning in a big area. So I'm not that worried. The Panic has not started yet. I guess after 5 weeks when 4th month starts, then i'll be seeing some growth. Even then i won't push the panic buttion till month 5-6 .. I hope I'm one of those lucky ones who get good results ... Here are 2 pictures of my recipient area which i took myself so they are not so great. usually my wife takes the picture but i'm away from home so had to do myself
  12. Also did you also have some sexual side effects from Rogaine ??? Does it really happen as i have never heard that before
  13. I would mention one thing which you guys are forgetting ... He is not using Fin so there is a strong likelihood that he would have lost from 10% to maybe 30-40% of his native hair .... I'm on a similar case. I can't use fin as i have side effects .. My hair loss in the last 2 years had been very fast. I lost almost 40-50% hair in my frontal area in last 2-3 years. So if the OP had same kind of hair loss it means that half of the native hair are gone and the result you see in pictures is mostly the transplanted hair which look quite OK to me RobAcid: Looking good man seeing that you don't take Fin, it seems quite decent coverage ... I would agree with Spanker ... Crown is a black hole .. Don't waste too much grafts there as you might need them later .. And if you really want, either use beard hair or very minimal coverage there ... I have seen people with HT who have good frontal coverage and very thin/almost bald crown .. they look much better than the ones with a thicker crown but very thin frontal coverage
  14. Looking good for 16 weeks .. With that much hairloss 3750 grafts would not have been sufficient to have full coverage .. But it looks like you will have at least a decent coverage considering that you are only 16 weeks along .. Good Luck with the growth .. Dr Demirsoy is having some good results here lately ... Turkey seems to be on it's way to be the Biggest FUE destination for overseas patients ....
  15. Wait for one more week and then you can go to your barber and he will even out the Donor Area hair. I had surgery with Dr Hakan as well and my donor looked quite weird .... but got my donor area evened out 2.5 weeks after surgery .. For me itching stayed in donor area till week-4 and now it's all gone ... Some people suggest Aloe Vera but didn't help me much My receipient area hair was shaved but not completely .. they kept it to around 1 cm for transplant. It helps with getting your normal look back sooner. And Apparently Dr has enough visibility with such short hair. Regarding shaving from a smaller portion. Don't know the reason but 1300 grafts won't make it that much thin. You are looking way too much at it i think. Just give it some time. You have not posted a pre-pic of the donor so it's difficult to compare how much thinner it looks Scabs didn't come off automatically for me by day 12. So after washing you hair, wet your hand with water and gently move it from scalp to forehead. After the lotion and wash scabs are usually very soft and they will come out by your hand movement. But keep it gentle. I was surprised at the tapping part too. I thought it might affect the new grafts but i didn't lose any grafts by this tapping thing and i'm sure you didn't as well. So it seems it's OK to do so ..
