  1. Right now we're just charging cost of supplies, untill we get a better handle on it. yes, we are offering PRP to anyone who is interested. Anguish to see how this will help!! I work with Dr. Paul Rose here in Tampa at Academic Alliance in Dermatology
  2. I can give you my thought to ease your mind about strip. Most people shy away from the strip method because they are afraid of a "bad" scar. The reason there are alot of bad scars out there is because, either the donor strip was taken to low on the nape of the neck, allowing any movement of the head to cause stretching, or a doctor who has taken too wide a section, so that when he goes to suture the area, it's closed under too much tension which results in the scar stretching. Dr. Rose has perfected the "ledge closure" We've been doing this closure for more than 5 years now, and are very pleased with our results. When suturing the donor area, instead of the two ends just being pulled together and the edges butting up together, Dr. Rose will trim the lower edge, so when he closes, the two edges interlock, like a "tongue and groove". By the edges interlocking, when the hair re-grows, they will grow through that area, hiding the appearance of a scar. Honestly, there is very little evidence, if any at all, of a scar. Dr. Rose cares just as much as giving a good cosmetic result in the back as he is about up front. My advise is definetely researching and going for a few consultations to meet with the different doctors. The only difference between FUE and strip is the harvesting. The ability to create a natural looking hairline and the placement of the grafts is just as important, if not more, than the harvesting. If you go with a doctor that doesn't have that artistic ability, and or the placement of your grafts is done incorrectly, it won't really matter how the grafts were harvested. I work with Dr. Paul Rose here in Tampa, Florida at Academic Alliance in Dermatologh. I work on salary, not commission, as a hair transplant technician. The comments on the above topic are that of my own, and should not be taken as medical advise.
  3. We just did our first case using PRP, Platelet Rich Plasma. It went very well. Of coarse being our fist case, we don't have any results to compare to. Anyone using PRP on a regular basis that can let us what results you're getting when using it?

  5. Hi, I am a hair transplant technician, and have been so for the past 19 years. If anyone out there is thinking of having a procedure but is hesitant, feel free to ask me any worries or concerns. I'm not here to do a sales job, just like to let you guys, and woman, what to realistically to expect, during and after a hair transplant. Let me know if I can help. Follicle girl
  6. Hey Joe, I have been a hair transplant technician for the past 19 years. I for a dermatologist. We have prescribing Propecia to patients for over 15 years. Out of those 15 years, 2 patients have said that while they were on the drug, they didn't feel as aggresive sexually as they'd like. So they stopped the drug ane everything was fine. You might experience some side effects initially when starting the drug, but try it a bit longer, I've never heard of side effects continuing after the drug was stopped, to see if that feeling subsides or not. People kinda of put it in their mind that they are experiencing these side effects, when they're really not. Every drug on the market has side effects, but because Propecia list less libido as one side effect, everyone freaks out, when in reallity only about 1% experience this. Aspirin has side effects for some people, does that mean it's not a good drug for the majority of the population? Propecia is relatively a safe drug with no long term complications. I've seen Propecia drastically slow down the balding pattern from developing, it's worth another try. Try taking it every other day, it may lessen any side effects, and still give the help you need with your hair loss. All my best follicle girl
