  1. What exactly do you mean when you say revision?? The actual scar is made less side somehow?? I've had 2 fut's so i guess it's as wide as they have to make it... My concern at this point has been some shock loss in the donor area. If I grow my hair a little longer you can't see but if you shave it, and not even that close, you see a little thinness in the donor area. It seems like it's growing back though. Hopefully just a little shock loss after surgery. I'm not exactly at 4 months yet... But I'd like to know what they did to 'revise' your scar. I've heard of transplanting hairs into the scar like you're saying with your beard..
  2. I'm on my 2nd procedure with a very good and well known doc in Chicago and I'm 4 months post op. I know what you guys are going to say but there's a small area right in front that I'm not seeing any new hairs pop out. To be honest not a lot of hairs fell at all. Most did in the hairline area but behind it seemed like they just continued to grow. So I'm just hoping that this small area has new growth pop out soon. The line across looks nice with a, kind of, little bald spot directly in the middle. I've been using Toppick in that area and the surrounding area to thicken it up a bit.,The hairs have popped through around it but this little spot is lacking in growth. Hopefully you guys think there's still plenty of time??? Just need a little reassurance. Thanks
  3. First time I really wasn't looking at my growth with a magnifier like I am now. Even though my first was with a very well known and qualified surgeon I wasn't extremely happy with his results. They weren't bad but I have friends with a lot less to start and have had only one. Also he said I wasn't a candidate for FUE while ever other doc said I was. I first went to a very conservative well known doc in NYC who offered FUE but was so conservative on the placement of the line I decided to go to the other. So that annoys me now thinking back. He also never called me back when I asked for the final graft amount.,the second was a different and, I think, better experience. Much tighter and better placement it seems. He did 2400 grafts. But I'm seeing this little spot where theres not too much growth. So you think more hairs can pop through?? Also I saw your profile on your scar revision while getting your last FUE...I'm thinking of that down the road. How did it come out?? Thanks
  4. I know what most of you guys will say but I'm getting just a bit nervous. I've had 2 procedures by 2 of the most qualified in the country.... The second, I believe, was much better though. I don't want to say his name just yet but he's in Chicago and one of the best. Most will know who he is. It's only been 4 months but 1 little area in the front, of course right in the middle, hasn't 'sprouted' yet. What I'm trying to ask is if I could still see new hairs pop out at this point because most others have already popped out. I do see a few more sprouting now but not in that 1 little section. I know I still have a little while to go but would really hope new hairs start popping out of this little section. Hopefully someone could give me some reassurance. Thanks
  5. Hey guys. Had my procedure done 7 weeks ago and I can't believe I'm writing this cuz I've been on this forum for years so I should know what to expect but I still wanted to ask a question. Everything is going normal, I guess. My hair has started to shed but not all just like they say but when I feel my hearing some areas it's completely smooth. I know they say the hair goes dormant but are you supposed to see stubble of some kind at all cuz I don't. In other areas there's still hair poking out but, like I said, in others it's just smooth skin. I don't want to seem like some others and I didn't think id get nervous unless I got to 6-7 months and didn't see any growth. Guess I just needed some reassurance. Hopefully they're hiding under my skin. Please reply!! Thanks
  6. Thanks guys. Yeah, he told me to be careful and not put the shower head directly on the grafts till day 4 but I told him at day 6 I needed to go into work. I'll have the next 2 days off after but I really need to go in for a day. Hope it won't dislodge any of them. I've also read dr bernsteins study that says they're basically in on the 5th day post op. hope it will be ok. Thanks again
  7. Does anyone know if its ok to wear a hat 6 days post op?? Just had ht with dr feller. I'm pretty sure he said after 4 days the grafts are set. Looking for advice. Thanks
  8. Fattusp, I also just had a procedure with dr. Feller on 8/26/14. I've been posting how wonderful they all are there. Quick question. I'll be 6 days out on Monday and was wondering if you felt wearing a hat would be ok? I really need to get back to work. Dr. Feller told me that 3-4 days is enough and they're basically cemented in by then. The swelling, as they said, would start in my forehead and travel down my eyes and nose. Only a little swelling left at this point. I have no pain to speak of at all. THANK GOD. Just wondering about wearing a hat. Good luck to you
  9. Your story sounds exactly like mine. I went in with dr. Feller Tuesday 8/26/14. He, along with his staff, were amazing and made me feel very comfortable. Now it's a waiting game. Hey, you said you were 10 days out.... And he took your staples out already??? Or did I misunderstand?? Also, dr feller said it would be ok to wear a hat 3-4 days out. On Monday ill be a little over 6 days and need to get back to work. You have an idea if that's ok?? Good luck to you. Hope you're very happy with your results!!
  10. Hey guys. I finally took the plunge a week ago and got a ht with d feller in Great Neck,NY. I'd first like to say how happy I was with dr. Feller and his WONDERFUL STAFF!! They made me feel extremely comfortable and really calmed me down. I was hesitant and unsure if I would go through with it right up to the elevator ride up. However, they made me feel at ease and it looks great so far. I know I have a long way to go but so far so good. Doc feller told me you basically need 3-4 days and the grafts are basically set. Monday will be just under a week and I'd like to get back to work. I've followed all instructions so far. Dr. Feller said I could put a hat on with no problem at that point. He is the doc but can anyone tell me if they've done this?? Hanks
  11. I'm 3 days post op with dr. Feller. I had a wonderful experience both with dr. Feller and his staff. I'm still very early on but so far so good. Thank god. Some, for whatever reason, may have a different experience. I, however, only have good things to say. I hope 6-8 months from now I can report that this experience has changed my life in an amazing way. Will report soon. Thanks dr. Feller and staff
  12. I'm one day post op with dr feller. I just wanted to thank him and his wonderful staff for making me feel so comfortable. Now I anxiously await the growing to begin. Will post pics when it starts to grow
  13. I'm one day post op with dr. Feller. I wanted to thank dr feller and his wonderful staff for making me feel comfortable. Now I anxiously await the growing to begin.
  14. Hi. I've seen your results and I have a procedure with dr feller on 8/26. Just wondering if you had any words to reassure me. I'd appreciate it. Thanks
  15. Any regrets?? I'm excited but very nervous. I know dr fellers work speaks for itself but just need some reassurance. Thanks
  16. Chrisdav I've been following your results for quite a while now and I was wondering if you could offer me and words of reassurance. I have my procedure scheduled with dr feller on 8/26/14 and needless to say I'm very nervous. I'd like to know what you thought of the scar and if you have any regrets?? Thanks
  17. Hi there. I'm scheduled to have a strip procedure with dr feller on 8/26/14. I'm really nervous as I guess most ppl would be. Just wondering if you could offer me and words to reassure me that I'm in good hands. I can wear a hat to work so just wondering if you felt that was possible after 7 days. Thanks. Hope all is well
  18. Hey spreadlocks. I've been tracking your progress and very happy to see your great results. I just had a consult with doc feller. I've been researching for years and remember your posts. You have very thick hair so covering the strip was prob easier for you than for most. Dr feller told me I'd be able to get back to work, WITH A HAT, 3-4 days later. Is that possible?? Could you give me your overall grade on dr feller and your experience... He made me feel very comfortable and spent over an hour explaining things. So that obviously was a plus. Thanks again.
  19. Haha. Thanks spanker. I've read a lot of your posts too. Glad to hear you're very happy with your results. When doc feller told me that all I needed was 3 days, I was happy and he really put my mind at ease. I must be honest, id still like him to talk to me about FUE but as soon as we sat down he spoke about STRIP like it wasn't a big deal. I've been on the forum a while and although I left his office very excited to do FUT you can't help but go home and read all the posts about the regrets you may have with strip and the scar. It's a tough decision. I just want FUE to be an option also. I know most docs really prefer strip. Honestly if I could wear a hat in my restaurant with no issues 3 days out, I don't mind the scar. I've seen some including dr fellers and it didn't look like a big deal. Again, I'd appreciate any feedback. Sorry for rambling. I've thought about this a while and it looks like I'm going to take the plunge very soon
  20. I really appreciate all your help. I've been used to wearing a hat so that's not a problem. Luckily I still have a good amount of hair left. I'm very happy to hear you're pleased with your results. I'm just still a little nervous about being able to hide it at work . Other than that I'm very excited. So just one more question.... You're saying after 3 months it's possible to just go without a hat. Sorry for all the questions. As you could tell I'm pretty nervous
  21. Thanks tommy. Dr feller told me I would be able to cover the scar and hide it with a hat. I own a restaurant and can wear a hat. I guess I didn't totally believe him when he said id be able to hide it. So were you shaving it throughout the first few months. How'd doc feller do on your scar?? I've been researching for a while and have seen your name many times. I really appreciate the feedback. How long has it been now?? Hope you are happy with everything
  22. Hey tommy thanks for your reply. Just wondering.... I'm able to wear a hat to work so I'm just wondering how you thought it looked 4 days after. Dr feller said id be able to cover the strip with a hat just 3 days later . Any thoughts on that??
  23. After researching for 3 years I finally thought it was time to start this process. A friend of mine had an FUE procedure done in NYC and that is what actually motivated me. Dr Feller was always at the top of my list and for years I heard about how he was just a 'normal guy' and very approachable. Well....EVERYTHING I HEARD WAS TRUE! He took the time to explain both pros and cons for each. We spoke for close to an hour. I thought that was extremely kind of him knowing how busy he is. Just wanted to thank Dr feller and his staff for making my decision a lot easier.
  24. After researching for 3 years I finally got the courage to start the process. A friend of mine had it done in NYC so i figured it was the right time for me. Dr. Feller was always at the top of my list. The one thing that I heard over and over again was that dr feller is just a 'normal guy' and will be totally honest from the very beginning. EVERYTHING I HEARD WAS TRUE!! I gained a lot more insight into the process both FUT and FUE. Dr feller spent an hour with me answering any question I had. I thought that was extremely kind given how busy he is. He is truly changing lives. Thanks dr. Feller for taking the time. Will speak to you soon
